Mrs. Marjorie Carpenter
Mrs. Marjorie Joy Youngblood Carpenter, age 87, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, passed from this life, Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at her home.
She was born to William Jeremiah and Lillian Louise Rasmon Youngblood, on July 25, 1929 in the Kellum Community of Sevier county, Arkansas. She married the love of her life, Dennie Ferris Carpenter, on December 11, 1953 at Gillham, Arkansas. Marjorie worked as a cafeteria worker at both Grannis and Gillham schools. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, cooking, working here vegetable and flower garden, as well as spending time with her family and her 22 year old cat "Puss." Marjorie was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Grannis since 1936.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over 51 years; ten siblings, June Youngblood, Elsie Powell, Mary Butler, Will Youngblood, Bessie Fitch, Alice Parks, Fred Youngblood, Charles Youngblood, Robert Youngblood and John Youngblood; as well as a son-in-law, Danny Davis.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Davis of Diana, Texas and Joy Byrd of De Queen; four grandchildren and their spouses, Katherine Davis of Diana, Texas and Daniel and Kristi Davis of Burleson Texas, Michael Ferris and Kirsten Byrd of Hatfield, Arkansas, and Amanda Joy Byrd of De Queen; ten great-grandchildren, Katelyn Cowles, Kris Cowles, Cole Zuleger, Alessio Byrd, Anceline Byrd, Zoe Byrd, Bennie Byrd, Maxx Davis, Drew Davis, and Marlie Joy Byrd; one sister-in-law, Janie Youngblood of Grannis, Arkansas; one brother-in-law, Lee Brewer of De Queen; as well as, a number of nieces , nephews, other family members, and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Marjorie Joy Carpenter will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Hess, Elder Bruce Aarant, Elder Barbara Martin, and Bro. Don Youngblood officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley Cemetery at Gillham, Arkansas. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Patricia Lee Kesterson
Patricia Lee Kesterson, age 59, a resident of Umpire, Arkansas, died Wednesday, February 8, 2017, in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
She was born on July 31, 1957, in Wenatchee, Washington. She taught at Dierks Schools, was a teacher for 37 years and was a member of the Mt. View Baptist Church.
Ms. Kesterson was preceded in death by her parents, James “Sonny” and Henrietta Inman Kesterson.
She is survived by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Stan Kesterson and Scott and Suzanne Kesterson all of Umpire; one niece, Kayla Kesterson and three nephews, Dallas, Clint and Dusty Kesterson.
Graveside funeral services for Patricia Kesterson will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Bethel Cemetery in Umpire with Brian Pounds and Kyle Cowart officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Mr. George Reed Frady
Mr. George Reed Frady, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at his home.
He was born to George Vernon and Eula Mae Wheeler Frady on March 26, 1945. He worked in the timber industry as a saw mill worker. He was a member of the First Assembly of God at De Queen. He also enjoyed fishing and dancing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Wilma Jean Brandon Frady; two daughters, Renea Dodson and Sandra Frady; and a sister, Vickie Lynn Johnson.
He is survived by one daughter, Elisha Jean Frady of Austin, Texas; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild; one half-brother, Terry Wheeler of Idabel, Oklahoma; three sisters, Patty Hanson of Cove, Arkansas, Sharon Kay Frady and Shirley Ann McKinley both of Broken Bow, Oklahoma. He was also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other family members, and a host of friends.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.
Mr. Charles Ramasco
Mr. Charles Robert Ramasco, age 80, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Monday, February 06, 2017, at his home.
He was born on March 12, 1937 in Newark, New Jersey. He worked construction, and was a member of the Williamson Community Church. He enjoyed fishing, camping, water skiing, duck hunting, and cherished the time spent with family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Essie McDonald, and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
He is survived by his wife, Billie McDonald Ramasco of Horatio, a son, Charles “Chuck” Ramasco, Jr. of Horatio, a daughter, Sherry Norman of Horatio, four grandchildren, Charles “Chip” Ramasco, III of Horatio, Danielle Lansdell of Horatio, Melissa and her husband, Clayton Hunt of De Queen, and Christopher Ramasco of The Colony, Texas, six great-grandchildren, Kaylle, Whitney, Taylor, Anabelle, Edward, and Brandon. He is also survived by his wife’s Family, a brother-in-law, Joseph “Junior” and his wife, Sue McDonald of Lockesburg, Sue and her husband, Henry Bennett of Houma, Louisiana, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Charles Ramasco will be 2:00 PM Friday, February 10, 2017 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Old Center Cemetery in Horatio, Arkansas under the direction of the Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
Mrs. Irene Wax
Mrs. Irene Clara Cooper Wax, age 99, a resident of Gillham, Arkansas died Thursday, February 2, 2017, in De Queen.
She was born May 23, 1917 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. She was the co-owner of Wax General Store and a member of Gillham Baptist Church.
Mrs. Wax was preceded in death by her parents, James Terrell and Cora Elizabeth Buckner Cooper; her husband, Delbert Wax, Sr.; one daughter, Linda Wax Patterson; one grandson, Kevin Wax; one great granddaughter, Jessica Wax; three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by three sons, Terry Wax of Gillham, Bill Wax of Joplin, Missouri, and Delbert Wax, Jr. of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and one daughter Susan Byrd of Redfield, Arkansas; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Wax will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 5, 2017, in the Gillham Cemetery with Jerry Taylor officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4th at the funeral home.
Mildred Foye Davis
Mildred Foye Davis was born on 9/12/1919 in Magazine, Arkansas, to A.B. and Elsie Coleman White. She passed from this life February 1, 2017 at Denison, TX.
She was the Valedictorian of Magazine High School in 1936. She graduated from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, in 1940. Foye Davis taught home making for 37 years at Horatio High School. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Horatio, a member of the cemetery committee and was a long term member of the Democratic National Committee in Sevier County.
Her parents, A.B. and Elsa White, her sister Faye Hanks, and brother Hobart White preceded her in death. Her husband, George Wayne Davis II died after 50 years of marriage.
She is survived by her only son George Wayne Davis III, his wife Joan Willems Davis, and 6 grandchildren, George Benjamin Davis and wife Rebecca Rollins, Ryan Willems Davis and wife Claudia Novoa de Davis, Rebecca Foye Lewis and husband Eric Lewis, Philip Coleman Davis and wife Kristen Davis, Austin Mercer Davis, John Arthur Rotert and wife Joannie Rotert and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by cousins Bill Hanks, Briscoe Hanks, and Martha Cooper.
Funeral services for Mrs. Davis will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 4, 2017, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Horatio Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, February 3rd at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Barbara Lee Williamson Klitz
Barbara Lee Williamson Klitz, age 54, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at her home.
She was born October 12, 1962 in De Queen, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a member of Williamson Community Church.
Mrs. Klitz was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Cooper and Clara Lee Sims Williamson and her husband, Dennis Klitz.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Tiffany and Jason Vanhoose of Horatio and Jada and Chris Connally of Midland, Texas; one granddaughter, Jaycee Vanhoose; one grand puppy, Cooper; one brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Jonnie Williamson; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Mary Jane and Jimmy Woodall, Pat and Danny Black, Diane Lightfoot, Bobbie Sexton, and Debbie and Larry Saddler all of Horatio.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Klitz will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Clear Creek Cemetery with Jimmy Roden officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
