Juanita June “Nita” Trice James

Mrs. Juanita June “Nita” Trice James, age 73, a resident of Elk Grove, California, and former resident of De Queen, died Saturday, October 15, 2016 at her home.

Nita was born in San Francisco, California on May 28, 1943, to Andrew Trice. She and her siblings were partially reared by her aunt and uncle, Vera and Dave Trice. She graduated from Sacramento High School, and earned her RN Degree from Sacramento City College in 1972. She married Bill James of Wickes, Arkansas in 1963. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was an avid reader and cherished the time spent with family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill James in 2014, and her aunt and uncle.

She is survived by a son, Dean James of Lamar, Colorado, a daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Phillip Crumback of Elk Grove, California, two sisters, Cathy Trice of San Diego, California, and Liz Trice of Elk Grove, California, five grandchildren, Rachel and her husband, Tyler Mickey, Nolan Crumback, Emma Crumback, Sam Crumback, and Garrett Crumback, as well as other family members and a host of friends.

Memorial graveside services for Mrs. Nita James will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 5, 2016 in the Daniel Cemetery with Bobby Tatum officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Helen Jane Ivy

Mrs. Helen Jane Ivy, age 92, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Friday, October 28, 2016, in Dierks Health and Rehab Center in Dierks, Arkansas.

She was born August 12, 1924, in Mississippi. She was a retired school teacher, curriculum coordinator, a caregiver and a member of the De Queen First Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Ivy was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Gladys Keller Wherley and her husband, Edwin Victor Ivy.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, John and Rhonda Ivy of Bloomburg, Texas; one daughter, Laura Ivy of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; one sister, Mary Sue Wherley of Dierks, Arkansas and two grandchildren, Chelsea and Colby Ivy.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Ivy will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 30, 2016, at the Mt. Ida Cemetery pavilion with Sue Ellen Hall officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m., Saturday, October 29th at the funeral home.

Mary Elizabeth” Sissy” Harris

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth” Sissy” Harris, age 73, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, died Thursday, October 27, 2016, at her home.

She was born September 17, 1943, in De Queen, Arkansas. She was a retired teacher for the Dierks Elementary School. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her parents Lyde B. Williams, Sr. and Helen Marjorie Kiser Williams and her brother, James F. ‘Willie’ Williams.

She is survived by her husband, James Harris; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Kevin Fox; three grandchildren, Isabel, Alysa, and Tyra; two brothers, Lyde Williams, Jr. and Earl Williams; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Harris will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, October 30, 2016, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks with Bobby Neal officiating. Burial will follow in the Dierks Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00- 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29th at the funeral home in Dierks.

Mrs. Sylvia Dean Key

Mrs. Sylvia Dean Key, age 87, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016, in Dierks, Arkansas.

She was born on July 1, 1929 in De Queen. She was a former employee of Pilgrim's Pride and a member of First Baptist Church in De Queen.

Mrs. Key was preceded in death by her parents, James Thomas "Tom" and Lillian Irene Burton Jones; one daughter, Tommye Faye Conatser; one son, Charles Wayne Key and one grandchild.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Jamie and Gaylon Godwin of De Queen and Sheila and Wayne Jones of Shreveport, Louisiana; one son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Sheila Key of De Queen; nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Key will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2016, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Redmen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, October 28th at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Peggy Laverne Anderson

Mrs. Peggy Laverne Anderson, age 82, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Tuesday, October 25, 2016 in De Queen.

She was born November 23, 1933 in Smackover, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and attended First Baptist Church in De Queen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Neal and Cora Holt; and one son, Jimmy Don Anderson.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Judy Anderson; two grandchildren, Clint Anderson and Savannah Schriver ; six great-grandchildren, Skyler, Caleb, Carter, Kason, Jadon, and Kaylee; one brother Jimmy Holt of Greenville, South Carolina; and three nieces, Cathy, Lynn, and Harriett.

Private family services for Mrs. Anderson were held in Gillham Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Mrs. Effie Mae Klitz

Mrs. Effie Mae Milam Klitz, age 79, a resident of Winthrop, Arkansas died Saturday, October 22, 2016 in Ashdown, Arkansas.

She was born October 28, 1936 at Billingsley Corner in Little River County. She was a homemaker and a Christian.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Sarah Elizabeth Baker Milam; her husband, Kenneth Ray Klitz; a daughter, Deborah Vaughn; four brothers, Charles, Darrell, Marvin and Steve Milam; and a sister, Velva McCormick.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald Klitz and Joel David Klitz, both of Winthrop; one daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Marc Aldaz of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Louise Key of Mena, Arkansas, Mary Jackson of Haworth, Oklahoma and Shirley McCorkle of Texarkana, Arkansas; four brothers, John Milam of Foreman, Arkansas, Bill Milam of Cerro Gordo, Arkansas, Gary Milam of Rogers, Arkansas and Wilbur Milam of Horatio, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Scott Lord, Amanda Thomas, Jeremy Reynolds, Rebecca Bennett, Josh Klitz, Sarah Klitz and Lindsey Weathers; three great grandchildren, Brenya Reynolds, Kara Thomas and Trisha Thomas; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Klitz will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2016, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen with Leon Klitz officiating. Burial will follow in the Pauley Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2016 at the funeral home.

Dewayne Ashbrooks

Dewayne Ashbrooks, age 43, a resident of Dierks, Arkansas, died Monday, October 17, 2016, near Eagletown, Oklahoma.

He was born June 13, 1973 in Nashville, Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife, April Lovewell Ashbrooks; two children, Dylan and Katie Ashbrooks all of Dierks; his father, Roger Ashbrooks of De Queen; his mother, Pat Stokes Ashbrooks of Dierks and one brother Darrin Ashbrooks of Texarkana, Texas.

Graveside services for Dewayne will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 23, 2016 in Fellowship Cemetery with Ronald Gilbert officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, October 22nd at the Dierks Funeral Home Chapel.
