Dr. Llewellyn Don Brown

Dr. Llewellyn Don Brown, age 70, a resident of Cave Creek, Arizona, died Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the family home place, Horatio, Arkansas.

He was born to Tommie and Snowie Belle Coulter Brown in Horatio, Arkansas, on July 15, 1945. He was raised in the Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the U. S. Army. He went on to serve as Senior Vice President of Manufacturing and Engineering with Kraft Foods and Senior Vice President of Container Operations & Technology at Coors Brewing, retiring in 2001. He was awarded an honorary doctorate of law degree from University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in 1998, and is being inducted into the UAPB Hall of Fame for Business this October, 2016. He had a passion for golf, traveling, photography, woodworking and was an avid reader. Most of all he cherished the time spent with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Darrell F. Brown, Sr.

He is survived by his wife of over 48 years, Inez Wyatt Brown of Cave Creek, Arizona, Three daughters and a son-in-law, Daria Akilah Kamila Brown of Portland, Oregon, Ellynn Donisha Brown of Los Angeles, California, and Dalila Jinelle Brown and Edgar Bautista of Plano, Texas, a grandson, Antonio Llewellyn Bautista of Plano, Texas, and an adopted grandson, Alex Bautista of Plano, Texas, a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Juanita Brown of Chicago, Illinois, a sister, Patricia “Pat” Brown-Dixon of Kansas City, Missouri, and more than twenty nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services for Dr. L. Don Brown will be held Saturday, July 16th at the Horatio First Baptist Church, 207 Hazard Street, Horatio, Arkansas 71842. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home for a Birthday Fellowship in honor of Dr. Brown on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 5 to 7:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Snowie & Tommie Brown Scholarship, c/o: UAPB Foundation Fund, 1200 North University Drive, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71601; or the Horatio Homeplace Trust Fund, c/o: Patricia Brown Dixon, 4949 Wornall Road, Unit 305, Kansas City, Missouri 64112.

Dottlee Duggan Reid Meager

Dottlee Duggan Reid Meager was born to Thomas and Dona Rose Duggan in Grannis, Arkansas on December 24, 1933. She passed from this life on July 5, 2016, near Baytown, Texas. She lived on this Earth 82 years, 6 months, one week and four days.

She enjoyed country living. She liked flowers and animals, especially ducks. She enjoyed writing poetry and was a published poet and a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Dub Reid; one son, Tony Reid; three sisters, Laura Duggan, Edith Frachiseur and Mary Oliver; and one brother, Willie Duggan.

She is survived by her husband, Will Meager of Massachusetts; one son, Jeff Reid of Baytown, Texas; one sister, Janie Youngblood of Grannis, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Jeffery and Dottie; and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at the Mineral Cemetery near Gillham, Arkansas with Bobby Tatum, Minister officiating.

Mrs. Linda Nealy Padilla

Mrs. Linda Williamson Nealy Padilla, age 67, a resident of Richland, Washington, and former resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died January 24, 2016 in Richland, Washington.

She was born to Lawrence "Snooks" and Mary Williamson in De Queen, Arkansas on June 22, 1948. She studied Art at Arkadelphia College, and later became a cosmetologist as this was her Passion. She was a Christian woman with love for our Lord, Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her first husband, Larry Nealy.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Padilla of Richland, Washington, a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Ian Van Tiger, a granddaughter, Brittany Nealy, a grandson Cody Van Tiger, a great-grandson, Cillian Nealy, a great-granddaughter, Gwen Parker, a sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Dennis Dodd, a brother, Kenneth Williamson, nephews, Chad Hofert and Shane Williamson, nieces, Angela Gafford and Hollye Staley, as well as other family members.

Memorial Services for Mrs. Linda Nealy Padilla will be held at 6:00 P.M., Thursday, July 14, 2016 in the Williamson Community Church, Horatio with Bro. Jimmy Roden and Sherry Dodd officiating.

Mrs. Maria Viviano de Bello

Mrs. Maria Viviano de Bello, age 68, a resident of Atlanta, Georgia, died Tuesday, July 5, 2016, in Atlanta.

Mrs. Bello was born July 17, 1947, in Acapulco, Mexico. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She loved being with her family, children, and grandchildren. She also loved gardening and fishing on the river.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Enrique and Nicolasa Viviano and one brother, Gabino Viviano.

Mrs. Bello is survived by her husband, José Luis Bello of Atlanta Georgia; three daughters, Elizabeth Suaréz of Atlanta, Georgia, Lupé Sotelo of De Queen, Arkansas and Gladiluz Bello of Little Rock, Arkansas; one son José M. Bello of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; eleven grandchildren; Cristal Calderon, Horacio Jr. Sotelo, Jafet Sotelo, Liseth Bello, Josue Bello, Sara Bello, Jose Suarez, Marily Suarez, Jairo Suarez, Megan Camarillo, and David Camarillo; and one great-grandchild Elleney Suarez.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bello will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Beacon Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Spennett Nash officiating. Burial will follow in the Beacon Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Robert E. Lee Rich, Jr.

Mr. Robert E. Lee Rich, Jr., age 73, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Tuesday, July 5, 2016
At his home.

He was born to Robert E. Lee, Sr. and Verdie Viola Griffin Rich in Horatio, Arkansas on September 13, 1942. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the U. S. Army. He was a retired welder foreman with Smith International Servco, and was a member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed horse races, golfing, dominos, and chicken fighting, and cherished the time spent with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son-in-law, Wilson Trahan, a sister, Bobbie Crouch, three brothers, Floyd Rich, Richard Rich, and Donald Rich, a granddaughter, Kayla Maddox, and a great-grandson, Gage Hill, and two nephews, Michael Rich and Steven Rich.

He is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Janie and Scott Landry of Lake Charles, La., Dinah Rich of Branson, Missouri, Glenda Trahan of Scott, LA, and Bobbye and Justin Roy of Hollister, Missouri, a son, Terry Rich of Lafayette, Louisiana, a sister, Margaret Klitz of Winthrop, Arkansas, a brother and sister-in-law, John and Sue Rich of Horatio, Arkansas, Ten grandchildren and their spouses, Scott and Diana Miller, Jr. of Geismer, Louisiana, Kaysha and Thomas Sanders, Dallas Rich, Tyler Bourgue all of Branson, Missouri, Candice and Ricky Pomier of Scott, Louisiana, Collin Roy of Branson, Missouri, Robert Paul and Raquel Rich, Sr of Lafayette, Louisiana, Derek and Trina Rich of Duson, Louisiana, Michael and Twylla Rich of Alexandria, Louisiana, Natasha Rich of Springfield, Missouri, five great-grandchildren, Jayden Miller of Geismer, Louisiana, Robert Paul Rich, Jr., Ruby Realyn Rich both of Lafayette, Louisiana, Callie Rich of Duson, Louisiana, and Colt Sanders of Branson, Missouri, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Rich will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 9, 2016 in Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Coy Willis officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the Horatio Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday, July 8, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 10:00 A.M., until Service time.

Merle Charles Wilbur

Merle Charles Wilbur, age 90, a resident of De Queen, died Wednesday, July 6, 2016, in Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born September 3, 1925, in the West Otis Community. He was a former employee of Dierks Lumber Yard and a World War II Army veteran.

Mr. Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents, Howard P. and Nora Mae Curl Wilbur.

He is survived by two nieces, Barbara Jean Rightmire of De Queen and Francis Carol Bailey of Horatio, Arkansas; three nephews, Kenneth Eugene Rightmire of Klammath Falls, Oregon, Bobby Charles Rightmire and Jackie Niel Rightmire both of De Queen and a number of nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

No services are planned at this time, cremation arrangements by Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Harace Junior Merworth

Harace Junior Merworth, age 90, a resident of Haworth, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, July 5, 2016, in Overton Brook VA Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana.

He was born June 13, 1926 in DeKalb, Texas. He was a self-employed brick layer, a World War II Army veteran and lifelong member of the Church of Christ.

Mr. Merworth was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd E. Merworth, Sr. and Ethel Dennington Merworth; two sisters, Johnnie Faye Heiman and Bobbie Lee Barnes and four sons, Ronnie, Donnie, Gary and Larry Merworth.

He is survived by his wife, Teri Davis Merworth; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Haracetta June “Ericka” Watson of Haworth, Oklahoma, Kaylene Michelle “Micki” and Chris Eldred of Coleman, Texas and Teresé Chantel and Dennis Absher of Santa Anna, Texas; two sons, Harace Britt Merworth of Haworth, Oklahoma and Alexander Glen Merworth of Texas; five sisters, Marie McPherson of Simms, Texas, Jean Williams of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Patsy Adcock, Linda Kay Pritchard and Sumei Hon all of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; two brothers, Floyd Merworth, Jr. and Donnie Merworth both of Mt. Pleasant, Texas and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Merworth will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 8, 2016, in the Mt. Ida Cemetery with Bobby Tatum officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 7th at the funeral home.
