Diane Dodson McGhee
Diane Dodson McGhee, age 67, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003 in Longwood, Fla.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
She was the daughter of Charles and Thelma Dodson; a graduate of De Queen High School; an honor graduate of Henderson State University and the University of Arkansas; attended postgraduate school at the University of Kansas; studied in Spain and Mexico as a Fulbright scholar; and was a faculty member at Southeast Missouri State College in Cape Girardeau, Mo., Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans, La., Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., and Cedarcrest College in Allentown, Pa.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Terence J. McGhee of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; a daughter, Margaret McGhee of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Charline Coulter of Longview, Tex.; a brother, Dr. Dwight Dod-son of Fayetteville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Bill E. Muse
Bill E. Muse, age 67, a resident of New Hope, died Sunday, August 24, 2003 in Christus St. Michaels Hospital in Texarkana, Texas.
He was born January 18, 1936 in Hess, Oklahoma. He was a self-employed contractor, a farmer, and a Baptist.
Mr. Muse was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Mattie (Shaw) Muse.
He is survived by his wife: Bea (Wells) Muse; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Debbie Holder, Kim and Mark Hooper and Cheryl and Scott De La Rosa, all of Dierks; two sons and daughters-in-law: Brian and Shelley Muse of Sallisaw, Oklahoma and Brett and Suzanne Muse of Dierks; a special family friend: Diane Sharp of Dierks; two brothers: Dude Muse of Atoka, Oklahoma and Bob Muse of Apache, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren: Carissa Holder of Conway, Arkansas, Jonna Holder of Russellville, Arkansas, Masan Muse of New Hope, Jessica Hooper, Sheyanne Muse, Halee De La Rosa and Madasan Billee Muse, all of Dierks; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services for Mr. Muse were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2003 in the Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Dierks. Burial followed in the Harmony cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.
The family received friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 26, at the funeral home in Dierks.

Loyd Tallant
Mr. Loyd Dueon Tallant, age 48, a resident of Winthrop, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 1, 2003.
He was born May 9, 1955 in De Queen and was self-employed.
Mr. Tallant was preceded in death by his parents: Loyd Dale and Ernestine Tallant; and his father-in-law: Joe Smith.
He is survived by his wife: Renee Smith Tallant of Winthrop; two sons and daughters-in-law: Casey and Gina Tallant of Winthrop and Chris and Melinda Tallant of Cerro Gordo; one daughter: Jessica Tallant of Winthrop; one granddaughter: Trinity Tallant, also of Winthrop; one sister: Joyce Kilpatrick of Gurnee, Illinois; his mother-in-law: Phyllis Smith of Crossroads; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Jeanie and Doug Eyraud of Winthrop and two nieces: Taylor and Cara Eyraud of Winthrop.
Funeral services for Mr. Tallant were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 4, 2003 in the Winthrop Free Holiness Church with Rev. Harless Oglesby and Bro. Danny Bell officiating. Burial followed in the Campground cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family received friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Sunday, August 3, at the fu-neral home.
Robert H. Shipp
Robert H. Shipp, age 74, resident of Prescott, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2003 in John McClellan VA Hospital at Little Rock.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29 in Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott with Rev. Donnie Dillard officiating. Burial followed in Bluff Springs cemetery, Nevada County.
He was born Aug. 11, 1929 in Nevada County to Wylie and Allie Purtle Shipp; was a retired farmer; and a member of Central Baptist Church at Prescott. He was predeceased by two brothers, Melvin and Gurvis; three sisters, Thalia, Margie and Norvell; and one grandson, Bart Hill III.
He is survived by two daughters, Judy Ardwin of Gillham and Joan King of Newport; two brothers, Hollis Shipp of Hope and D.P. Shipp of Memphis, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
The family received friends Thursday, Aug. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Robert S. Golden Sr.
Robert Samuel Golden Sr., age 89, resident of Foreman, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003 at his home.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6 in Gravelly cemetery with Rev. Duaine Blackmore and Rev. Jimmy Woods officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
He was born Oct. 15, 1913 in Foreman; was a carpenter by trade and retired from Calvin Carter Construction Company; and was a member of First Baptist Church in Foreman. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Nazy Bivins Golden; five brothers; and six sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Ernestine Brummett Golden; two sons, Bob Golden and Mike Golden, both of Foreman; one daughter, Ruth Cleghorn of Foreman; 13 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church in Foreman.

Sally Randie Jackson
Mrs. Sally Randie Jackson, age 96, resident of San Angelo, Tex., and formerly of Horatio, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003 at her home.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11 in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Roden officiating. Burial followed in Avon cemetery.
She was born Tuesday, April 2, 1907 in De Queen; was a retired cook; and a Baptist. She was prede-ceased by her parents, Arthur and Minnie Stephens Stell; her husband, James Oscar "Jack" Jackson; her sons, J.D. Munn, Buddy Munn and Floyd Munn; and her brother, Clarence Stell.
She is survived by four daughters, Delma Willmon Duggan of Gillham, Minnie Mae Killen of Spring-field, Ga., Reba Leffman of San Angelo, Tex., and Ruby Lee Wilder of Albuquerque, NM; 16 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and two nephews.
Velva Jo Bounds
Mrs. Velva Jo Bounds, age 68, resident of De Queen, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2003 in De Queen Re-gional Medical Center.
Mrs. Bounds was donated to LSU Health Services Center in Shreveport for medical research. Ar-rangements were made by Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
She was born Aug. 18, 1936 in De Queen; and was self-employed.
She is survived by one son, Kent Dunn of Little Rock; one daughter, Debbie Hill of De Queen; two sisters, Janet Graham of Marion and Mary Ruth Underwood of Athens, Tenn.; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Winnie Sirmon
Mrs. Winnie (Musgrave) Sirmon, age 83, a resident of Dierks, died Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at her home.
She was born Saturday, February 14, 1920 in Galena, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dierks.
Mrs. Sirmon was preceded in death by her parents: Dempsey and Sarah Elizabeth Luster Musgrave; her husband: Jame Arvie Sirmon; and 11 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: Byrl Sirmon of Longview, Texas and Dennis and Rebecca Sirmon of Dierks; two daughters and sons-in-law: Phyllis and Dwight Sharp of Umpire and Karen and Bill Wakley of Athens; 10 grandchildren: Jimmy Sirmon, Rhonda Sirmon, Bridget Wilson, Adam Sirmon, An-gela Allman, Wesley Wakley, Jenny Moore, Claudia Arthur, Michael Sharp and Dustin Wakley; 10 great-grandchildren: Caitlyn Sirmon, Conner Sirmon, John Arthur, Megan Arthur, Kaitlyn Wakley, Chloe Wakley, Alex Sharp, Jacob Sharp, Austin Allman, and Trey Allman; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sirmon were held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 29, 2003 in the Mt. Zion Church in Athens with Bill Wakley and John Henry Williams officiating. Burial followed in the Athens cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

Raymon Scott Thomas
Raymon Scott Thomas, age 37, resident of Prairie Grove, died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003 in Prairie Grove.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14 in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Dierks with Rev. Bobby Neal officiating. Burial followed in Green’s Chapel cemetery.
He was born July 19, 19 66 in De Queen; was a surveyor; and a Baptist.
He is survived by a son, Christopher Colt Thomas of Nashville; his parents, Dale Thomas of Dierks and Sandra Thomas of Prairie Grove; three sisters, Kelly Comer and Jerri Brock, both of Dierks, and Jackie Thomas of Prairie Grove; paternal grandmother, Iva Thomas of Dierks; maternal grandmother, Shirley Collins of Prairie Grove; and a number of nieces and nephews.
