Mr. Juan "Johnny" Munoz Arriaga
Mr. Juan “Johnny” Munoz Arriaga, age 46, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016 in De Queen.
He was born May 4, 1969 in Monterrey, Mexico. He was an electrician and a member of the St. Barbara’s Catholic Church in De Queen.
Johnny was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Angelina Arriaga Barrientos and an infant brother, Raul Munoz.
He is survived by his son, Austin Munoz of De Queen; his father, Juan Munoz Quezeda of Monterrey; five brothers, Javier and Manolo of De Queen, Jose Manuel of Houston, Texas, Abraham Cuauhtemoc and Gabriel Angel of Mexico; five sisters, Martha Lilia and Maria Angelina of Mexico, Nora Alicia of Wickes, Arkansas, Blanca Azucena and Jessica Araceli of Houston, Texas and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial Mass service for Johnny will be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2016, in the St. Barbara Catholic Church with Father Juan Manjarrez officiating. A Rosary service will start at 10:00 a.m., Friday with memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 28, 2016, in the “Centro Pastoral” St. Barbara Catholic Church.
Burial will be at a later date in Monterrey, Mexico.
Mrs. Joyce Lee Hammer
Mrs. Joyce Lee (Morris, Hargis) Hammer, died on May 20, 2016, from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Robert Nathern “Hub” and Tobitha Louisa (Ward) Morris, the father of her six children, Edgar Douglas Hargis, Sr. of Gillham, Arkansas, her second husband, Kenneth Earl Hammer of De Queen, Arkansas; four brothers, Vernon Dale Morris of Golden, Oklahoma, James Carl Morris of Gillham, Arkansas, Bobbi Gene Morris of Hugh Springs, Texas, and Allen Keith Morris of De Queen, Arkansas. She was also proceeded in death by her children, Edgar D. “Doug” Hargis of Mena, Arkansas, and Shelah Janice (Hargis) Downs of Gillham, Arkansas.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon Joy (Hargis) and Preston Miles of Wickes, Teresa Lynn (Hargis) and Jimmie Miles of Wickes, Arkansas, and Rhonda E. Hargis of De Queen, Arkansas. She is also survived by one son, Dave-Robert Hargis, Sr., and his wife, Angela of Atlanta, Texas. She also raised a grandson, Edgar D. “Trey” Hargis III, of Florida. She is also survived by her lone surviving brother, Milton L. Morris of Gillham, Arkansas, and her only sister, Judy Caroline (Morris Mills) Smith of Gillham.
Joyce was baptized member of the First United Methodist Church of Gillham, Arkansas. The Last months of her life, her spiritual needs were met by Scott O’Rear, of Quachita Hospice.
Joyce spent many years working at Turnwood’s Restaurant of De Queen as first dishwasher, Then as a grill cook. After this she worked for several years in the post yard for Weyerhaeuser. She was also a very proud and loyal employee of Bobbi and Deloye Boone, not matter what restaurant they were managing. At the end of her business career, Joyce became a business owner herself when she bought and managed Hammer and Hargis Trucking.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Hammer will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 23, 2016 in the Overturf Cemetery, Gillham, Arkansas, with Scott O’Rear officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. All attendees are encouraged to wear a red Article of Clothing as that was Joyce’s favorite color.
Linda Lou Wormington Williamson
Mrs. Linda Lou Wormington Williamson, age 63, a resident of Dierks, died Monday, May 16, 2016 in St Vincent Hospital, Little Rock, Arkansas.
She was born to Jessie Loyd and Alice Marie Godwin Wormington in Texarkana, Arkansas, on January 3, 1953. She was a LPN, as well as a homemaker. She was a member of the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Dierks. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, riding horses, and her church and church family. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with family, especially her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 39 years, Daniel T. Williamson, Jr., She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kasi Renee Williamson, and two brothers, Wilburn Wormington, and Palmer Wormington.
She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel T. III, and Lucinda Williamson of Maybanks, Texas, Thomas and Kathy Williamson of Texarkana, Texas, Floyd Williamson of Maybanks, Texas, and Chase T. and Deanna Williamson of Dierks, Arkansas, a grandson, whom she raised, Garrett Taylor Williamson of Dierks, three daughters, Tamala Stinson of Dierks, Kaye and J. C. Wade of Dierks, and Mary and Louis Jones of Dierks, fifteen grandchildren, including special grandchildren, Daniel Louis “D.J.” of Dierks, and Cayden Bass and Chloe Spears both of Dierks, and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Darlene Wormington of Texarkana, Arkansas, one sister, Charlotte Vinabel of Shreveport, Louisiana, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Linda Williamson will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 21st in the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. J. W. Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in the Section Cemetery near Athens, Arkansas. Visitation will be Friday, May 20th in the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, Dierks, Arkansas, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Joshua Lane Dyas
Joshua Lane Dyas, age 31, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died Sunday, May 15, 2016 in the De Queen Medical Center.
He was born February 11, 1985, in De Queen. He was a carpenter and a U.S. Navy veteran.
Joshua was preceded in death by his mother, Kimberly Ann Cannon Goodwin; his grandmother, Louise Emerson and his grandfather, Charles Emerson.
He is survived by his parents, Eddie and Ronita Dyas; two brothers, John Dyas and Seth Dyas; two sisters, Shawna Savell and Terrah Pavan; his grandfather, Glen Cannon; his grandmother, Joyce Cannon; his uncles and aunts, Gwen and Julie Martz, Harold and Linda Cannon, Ricky and Peggy Cannon, Chris Cannon, Debbie and Julio Mullins, Becky and Eddie Liggin and Chasidy Emerson.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 1:00p.m., Friday, May 20, 2016, in the Chapel Hill Cemetery.

Jerry Don White
Mr. Jerry Don White, age 74, a resident of Wickes, Arkansas formerly of Grand Prairie, Texas, died Saturday, May 14, 2016 in Mena, Arkansas.
He was born November 10, 1941 in Durant, Oklahoma. Mr. White worked in construction and was a cement finisher, a skill he learned from his dad. He liked to walk and enjoyed playing golf and was a US Army Veteran having served in the Panama Canal Zone during the Vietnam War.
Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Lee and Billie Yvette Cubley White and two brothers, Paul Ray and Preston Lee White.
He is survived by one sister, Donna Gail White of Lebanon, Missouri and one brother Dale White of Wickes.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. White will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 16, 2016, in the Crystal Hill Cemetery in Wickes, Arkansas with Jon Newlin and Chris Burke officiating under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 6:00- 8:00 p.m., Sunday, May 15th at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Crystal Hill Cemetery fund.
Wilma Lee Johnson Jewkes
Mrs. Wilma Lee Johnson Jewkes, age 88, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at her home.
She was born on September 3, 1927 in Lockesburg, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a Methodist.
Mrs. Jewkes was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Roy and Lee Ethel Shinn Johnson, Sr.; one daughter, Betty Rolfe and one brother, Jesse Johnson, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Jewkes; one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Jack and Lori Jones of Milpitis, California; one daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Morris Wilemon of De Queen; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
No services are scheduled at this time.

Lottie Jane Morris
Lottie Jane Morris, age 86, a resident of Gillham, Arkansas died Tuesday, May 10, 2016 in De Queen, Arkansas.
She was born March 11, 1930 in Nashville, Arkansas. She was a nurse’s aide and a member of the De Queen Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Annie Tidwell Morris.
She is survived by one sister, Mary B. Lewis; one brother, Floyd Morris, Sr., both of Gillham, Arkansas; one niece, Brenda Presson and husband Jim of De Queen, Arkansas; two nephews and their spouses, Floyd Morris, Jr. and wife Kim of Horatio, Arkansas, and Paul Lewis and wife Elaine of De Queen; five great nieces and nephews, Jennifer Collier, Clay Morris, Scott Hannigan, Tiffany Williamson, and Ashley Gregg.
Graveside funeral services for Ms. Morris will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday May 13, 2016 in the Old New Hope Cemetery with Bobby Tatum officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
