Wilber Ray “Tuffy” Green
Wilber Ray “Tuffy” Green, age 74, a resident of Foreman, Arkansas, died Tuesday, April 19, 2016, in Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas.
He was born June 15, 1941, in Arkinda, Arkansas. He was a logger, saw miller and truck driver.
Mr. Green was preceded in death by his parents, Jr. Kelly and Edra Syble Nelson Green; one sister, Carol Sue Matthews and his son-in-law, Richard Lee Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Dollar Green; two daughters, Barbara Jones of Arkinda, Arkansas and Teressa Gail Pariseault of Bridgewater, Virginia; his adopted daughter, Becky Martinez of Arkinda; 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services are pending. Cremation arrangements by Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen, Arkansas.
Glenda Nadine Smith
Glenda Nadine Bales Smith, age 84, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Sunday, April 17, 2016 in De Queen Therapy and Living Center.
She was born December 11, 1931 in De Queen. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Marion R. Smith on August 29, 1998 and parents, John and Ann French Bales.
She is survived by one daughter, Vicki Verser of Ashdown, Arkansas; two sons, Randy Smith of De Queen and Steve Smith of Murfreesboro, Arkansas; two sisters, Maxine Whitley and Gayle Warren; and 5 grandchildren.
Private Graveside services were held at Redmen Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Benny Alec Humphrey
Benny Alec Humphrey, age 81, passed away Tuesday April 19, 2016, in Fayetteville.
He was born January 31, 1935, in De Queen, Arkansas the son of Bennie Morgan and Rhoda Mae Spicer Humphrey.
He worked for the Federal Civil Service.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 22, 2016, at Redmen Cemetery in De Queen, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 10-10:30, Friday, April 22nd at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
William (Little Bill) Andrew Knighten
William (Little Bill) Andrew Knighten, 81, of Foreman, Arkansas, died this day, Wednesday, April 20th, 2016, at his home. Bill was born December 17, 1934, in Foreman, Arkansas. He was a retired truck driver, logger, and sawmill worker. Bill was a member of the Winthrop Holiness Church.
Bill is preceded in death by his father, Wallace Knighten, mother, Dorothy (Harrington) (Knighten) Tadlock, three brothers, A.C., Leroy, and Johnny Knighten, and three sisters, Ethel (Knighten) (Gallagher) Nunn, Joye (Knighten) (Stewart) (Gurley) Lockaby, and Sherri (Ruthie) (Knighten) Simmons.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty (Gorman) Knighten of Foreman, AR three daughters, Debra & James Barnes of Gillham, AR, Sergeant First Class (Retired) Marilyn Knighten of Foreman, AR, Kay & Mike Johnson of Foreman, AR and one son, Willie & Vickie Knighten of Foreman, AR. Five grandchildren, James W. Barnes of DeQueen, AR, Maranda (Barnes) & Adam Jones of Hot Springs, AR, LaShanda (Johnson) & JonEric Head of Ozark, AR, Kristen Knighten of Foreman, AR, and Justin Johnson of Foreman, AR. Three great granddaughters, Katie and Laken Barnes of Nashville, AR, and Haileigh Jones of Hot Springs AR. Four brothers, Robert J., Wallace (Eddie), Simon J. and Charles David Knighten all of Foreman, and two sisters, Rosie Clark of Mt Calm, TX and Rachel Kendal of Magazine, AR. Numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen, AR on Friday, April 22nd.
Services will be held in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, April 23, 2016, with Brad Sullivan officiating. Interment will be at Gravelly Cemetery. Burial will be under direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Kenneth Elmer Smith, Jr.
Mr. Kenneth Elmer Smith, Jr., age 78, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Monday, April 18, 2016 at his home.
He was born to Kenneth Elmer, Sr. and Martha Shappee Smith in Elmira, New York, on August 31, 1937. He served in the military with the U. S. Army, and was a stone and brick mason. Kenny was a member of the First Baptist Church, a member of the Masonic Lodge, and enjoyed fishing. Most of all, he cherished the time spent with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of almost 48 years, Bea Clinton Smith of De Queen, a daughter and son-in-law, Tanni and Mike Shipp of Redlick, Texas, two granddaughters and their spouses, Jennifer and Michael Westbrook of Atlanta, Texas, and Jessica and Robbie Smith of Hot Springs, Arkansas, two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Bailey Westbrook of Atlanta, Texas, five brothers, Duane Smith, Claude Smith, Dale Smith, Benjamin Smith, and Joseph Smith, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial services will be held Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of De Queen. Cremation under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Mary Maxine Frederick Rose
Mrs. Mary Maxine Frederick Rose, age 68, a resident of De Queen, died Monday, April 18th In De Queen Therapy and Living Center, De Queen.
She was born to Floyd Tatem and Opal Mae Keithley Frederick in Hollister, Missouri, December 27, 1947. She was a Baptist, and a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, and visiting with friends. She cherished the time spent with family, and absolutely adored her grandkids and great-grand babies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a step-son, Dale Rose, seven brothers, her husband, Jimmie Dale Rose and a great-grandbaby Breccan Sons.
She is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Tammy Hitzelberger of Waldron, Arkansas, Tina and Craig Hensley of De Queen, Sherry Land of Hatton, Arkansas, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gerry Rose of Cove, Arkansas, James and Glenda Rose of Fort Smith, Arkansas, a daughter-in-law, Terrie Rose of Marble Hill, Missouri, nine grandchildren, Robbie Sons, Heather Williams, Nikki Evans, Cameron Rose, Ann Rose, Ashley Rose, Byron Rose, Jesse Rose, and Stephanie Landewee, two great-grandchildren, Zayden Williams, and Blakely Sons. She is also survived by a brother, Eddie Frederick of Wickes, Arkansas, two sisters, Willie Holliday of Mena, Arkansas, and Pam Hicks of Hatton, Arkansas, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Joyce M. Butts Davis
Mrs. Joyce M. Butts Davis, age 93, a resident of Texarkana, and former resident of De Queen,
Died Saturday, April 16th in Texarkana.
She was born to Walter I and Cora Hazel Smith Butts in El Dorado, Arkansas on September 6, 1922. She was retired from the U. S. Postal Service with 20 years service. She was a member of the Hillcrest Missionary Baptist Church of Texarkana, and enjoyed traveling, fishing, and yard work , especially her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob D. Davis, and a son, Fredrick Procknow.
She is survived by special friends, Bonnie Conley and Frank Holman of Wake Village, Texas, as well as a number of cousins.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Joyce M. Davis will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 20th in the Daniel Cemetery, Wickes, Arkansas, with Rev. Raymond Dees officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
