Clyde Calvin Kreider

Clyde Calvin Kreider, age 71, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, left this earth to see Jesus on Wednesday, March 18, 2015.

He was born on April 18, 1943 in Harper, Kansas to Clarence and Zelma Roth Kreider. He was retired from Domtar and proudly served in the U.S Air Force for 4 ½ years.

Mr. Kreider was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Tamra Kreider.

He is survived by his wife, Verna Austin Kreider; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Teri and John Cribb of Horatio, Cathy and Leonard Wolcott of North Pole, Alaska and Corina Schindel of San Diego, California; one son, Don Sharp of Horatio; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Glen and Juanita Kreider of Fargo, North Dakota and Forrest and Kris Kreider of Pampa, Texas; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Dodie Stufflebeam of Bullhead City, Arizona and Gwen and Dwight Ritter of Wichita, Kansas; five grandchildren, Tyler and Matt Cribb of Horatio, Rodney Wolcott and wife Stephanie of North Pole, Alaska, Trevor Hicks and wife Elise of Fargo, North Dakota and Crystal Van Camp and husband Stephen of Palmdale, California; three great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Kreider will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 21, 2015 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Virgil Romine and Mark Cordray officiating. Burial will follow in Horatio Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, March 20th at the funeral home.

Hilda Mae Dossett Hallisey

Hilda Mae Dossett Hallisey, age 83, a resident of Texarkana, Texas died Wednesday, March 18, 2015 in Texarkana.

She was born February 18, 1932 in Winthrop, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Mrs. Hallisey was preceded in death by her parents, Joel M. and Emmie Gautney Dossett; her husband, Daniel Hallisey; a daughter, Judith Price; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Price; and three brothers, Troy Dossett, Madison “Bub” Dossett and John Dossett.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel “Dee” and Shari Hallisey of Wake Village, Texas and Joel and Carol Hallisey of Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers, Sherdon Dossett of Mena, Arkansas and Winston Dossett of Winthrop; two sisters, Lovetta Arensdorf of Denver, Colorado and Fern Green of Foreman, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Lisa Emerson, Chris McAdams, Sean Hallisey, Jessica Loudermill, Jason Hallisey, Michael Hallisey and Patrick Hallisey; six great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hallisey will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2015 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen. Burial will follow in the Campground Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service.

Jeanne Wright Willis

Mrs. Jeanne Wright Willis, age 83, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at her home.

She was born to George and Oleta Crow Wright in Lovington, New Mexico on February 23, 1932. She was a retired USDA Inspector at Pilgrim’s, as well as a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Horatio, and enjoyed needle work, crocheting, knitting, embroidery, sewing, ceramics, cooking, gardening, and yard work. Above all, she cherished the time spent with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Billie Price, and her children, Jacky Wayne Fulton, Greg Lane, Mitch Lane, and Elizabeth Prather.

She is survived by her husband by of over 46 years, Billy F. Willis of Horatio, a son, Billy K. Willis of Horatio, four daughters and sons-in-law, Kaye and Russ Tompkins of Fort Towson, Okla., Peggy Fulton of Rosebud, Texas, Shelley Epstein and Eddie Minneham of North Richland Hills, Texas, and Susan and Randy Fedric of Horatio, a brother, Jimmy Snelgrove of Hawaii, a sister, Sybil Ferguson of Horatio, Arkansas, eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Jeanne Willis will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 20th in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Gutierres officiating. Burial will follow in the Clear Creek Cemetery, Horatio, AR, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Thursday, March 19th from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.

Sarah Elizabeth Monroe Anderson

Sarah Elizabeth Monroe Anderson, 88 years young, of Dierks, Arkansas, died Saturday, March 14, 2015 at her home.

Mrs. Anderson was born September 17, 1926 in Dierks. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dierks. She loved her church and was very active in church life and service to her Lord. She was also an avid bowler and lived life to the fullest.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Orel Monroe and Mary Olive McAleer Monroe, her husband, William “Bill” Anderson; two sisters, Mary Monroe Kulinick and Doris Monroe Chaney; three brothers, Frank Monroe, Robert Louis “Bob” Monroe and Carol Porter Monroe.

She is survived by two sons, Ric Anderson and wife Isabel of Silverdale, Washington and Steve Anderson of San Diego, California as well as a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Anderson will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 20, 2015 in the First United Methodist Church in Dierks with Garry Wiles and Carroll Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Dierks Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 19th at the funeral home in Dierks.

The family requests that memorials be sent to First United Methodist Church in Dierks.

Mr. S.G. Eason

Mr. S.G. Eason, age 87, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015 in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born December 19, 1927, in Gillham, Arkansas. He was retired from Kirkpatrick Pulpwood and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lockesburg. He was passionate about his family, work, gardening and his dog.

Mr. Eason was preceded in death by his parents, E. Odus and Dollie Mae Williams Eason; his wife, Rosalie Priest Eason; one son, Jerry Eason; two brothers and six sisters.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Cathy Eason of Lockesburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Hans Dreikorn of Katy, Texas; three grandchildren, Dr. Hope Taylor and husband David, Mark Eason and wife Dana and Heather Farley and husband Will; one great-granddaughter, Paige Eason; one great-grandson, Noah Samuel Taylor; one sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and H.L. Willbanks of Houston, Texas; one sister-in-law, Lilla Eason of Gustine, Texas; and one daughter-in-law, Valerie Eason Gathright of Lockesburg.

Funeral Services for Mr. Eason will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2015, in First Baptist Church in Lockesburg with Rev. Jack Gilliland officiating. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, March 13th at the funeral home.

C.E. Hendrix, Jr.

C.E. Hendrix, Jr. age 75, of Horatio, died Monday, March 9, 2015 at Brookewood Nursing Center in De Queen.

He was born July 4, 1939, in Sevier County. C.E. was a devoted member of Horatio First Baptist Church serving as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was Chairman, President, and CEO of Horatio State Bank and a Board Member.

He attended Horatio Public Schools and graduated college from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was an avid fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks. He served in the U.S. Army from 1962-64 attaining the Rank of 1st Lieutenant. He was a past President of the Horatio School Board and a member of the HHS Athletic Booster Club. He helped initiate First Headstart Program in Sevier Co. In addition, he was a Board member of Trustees of De Queen General Hospital, past President of Little River Club, and served on various other committees and boards. His many years serving others attest to his love for God, his family, his country, and his community.

C.E. was preceded in death by his father and mother, Carl E. Hendrix, Sr. and Lilla Sullivan Hendrix of Horatio, AR.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janice Akers Hendrix; one daughter, Elizabeth Hendrix Trimble and husband Todd Trimble; one son Carl E. Hendrix, III “Ned” and wife Dani Hendrix; grandchildren, Lauren Trimble, Drew Hendrix, and Ben Hendrix; a sister, Edith Hendrix Smith and husband Wilburn Smith, a niece Margaret Smith Griffin and husband Michael Griffin and their son Reece Griffin, and many other beloved relatives and friends.

We cannot express enough of our gratitude to all who took care of C.E. during his battle with Alzheimer’s. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to Brookewood Nursing Home and Dierksen Hospice. Thank you First Baptist Church of Horatio for all the love and support we have received.

Funeral Services for Mr. Hendrix will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2015 in Horatio First Baptist Church with W.L. “Bill” Ashburn IV and Jerry Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Horatio Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 12th at the funeral home.

The Family requests that donations be made to Horatio First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 296, Horatio, AR 71842.

Amber Denise Williamson Wagner

Amber Denise Williamson Wagner, age 32, a resident of De Queen, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015, at her home, after a two year battle with cancer.

She was born December 28, 1982 in De Queen. She was a mammographer and a member of the First Baptist Church of De Queen.

Amber was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harold and Lucille Belcher and Luther and Lorene Williamson.

She is survived by her husband, Steven Wagner; one daughter, Mabry Wagner; her parents, Wayne and Karen Williamson, all of De Queen; one brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Kimmie Williamson of Bryant, AR; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tommy and Joyce Wagner of Horatio; three nephews, Avery and Sutton Williamson and Ty Wagner; two nieces, Grace Wagner and Taylor Wagner; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jason and Shantal Wagner and Chad and Erin Wagner and a host of friends and other relatives.

Funeral Services for Amber will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2015, in the First Baptist Church in De Queen with Rev. Josh Herwick and Rev. Faron Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 10th at the funeral home.

The family will be in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall prior to the service.
