Peter H. Beuden
Mr. Peter Henry Beuden, age 78, a resident of De Queen, died Saturday, January 3, 2015 in the Rich Mountain Nursing & Rehab Center, Mena, Arkansas after a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Beuden was born to Edward and Hariett Williams Beuden on July 19, 1936 in North Wales, England. He was a Senior Geophysical Technician of Research with jobs across the World in mining exploration. He was also an Aircraft Inspector for the FAA and retired in 1995 from Weyerhaeuser as an Airplane Mechanic where he specialized in helicopters. As you know he loved aviation not only as his career but also as his hobby for over 50 years. He began flying at the young age of 15 and he simply loved restoring antique airplanes especially with his best friend Chuck Long. Mr. Beuden became a proud naturalized citizen of the United States in the 1990’s. He did some ranching and had a loving heart for animals.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a son Marcel Beuden and a brother, John Beuden.
He is survived by his wife, best friend and partner of 40 years Kathleen Beuden of De Queen, three sons, Harland Beuden of Santa Teresa, New Mexico, Frank Beuden of Wilcox, Arizona, Tim Beuden of Phoenix, Arizona and a daughter Denise Beuden of Arizona, a brother Christopher Beuden, three sisters Dorothy Roberts, Marion Anderson and Kathy Will all of Canada, five grandchildren a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Memorial services for Mr. Peter Beuden will be at a later date. Cremation arrangements under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Joseph B. “Joe” Frachiseur
Mr. Joseph B. “Joe” Frachiseur, age 82, a resident of De Queen, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014, in De Queen, Arkansas.
He was born to John Allen and Willie Mae Murphy Frachiseur on November 6, 1932 in Grannis, Arkansas. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the U. S. Army, and was a retired rancher. Joe was an active member of the First Baptist Church, where he was honored for his faithful service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working outside, and most of all, spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bill Frachiseur, and a grandchild, Avery Grace Frachiseur.
He is survived by his wife of over 55 years, Shirley Davis Frachiseur, one son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Shari Frachiseur of Red Water, Texas, one daughter and son-in-law, Gina and Ron Paul of Monticello, Arkansas, four grandchildren, Cooper Frachiseur, Tucker Alan Frachiseur, Karaline Paul, and Christian Paul, two brothers and a sister-in-law, John Frachiseur of Gainsville, Florida, Ray and Carolyn Frachiseur of De Queen, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Laverne Newport of Arlington, Texas, and Hellen and Bill Kramp of Garland, Texas, Joe is also survived by his wife’s family, five sisters-in-law, Shelby Hill Jeans of Nashville, Ark, Linda Taylor and her husband Bob of Winniewood, Okla., Glenda Peden and her husband Ronald of Nashville, Cathy Bennett of De Queen, and Pat Johnston and her husband Ed also of De Queen, two brothers-in-law, Buddy Davis and his wife, Ruth of Hermitage, Tenn., Jimmy W Davis and his wife, Teresa of Dierks, Arkansas, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Joe Frachiseur will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 3, 2015 in the First Baptist Church of De Queen with Rev. Charles Hebert and Pastor Josh Herweck officiating. Burial will follow in Redmen Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Friday, January 2nd from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
Kathy Sue Walker Vallee
Mrs. Kathy Sue Walker Vallee, age 52 a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died Monday, December 29, 2014, in Wadley Regional Medical Center, Texarkana, Texas.
She was born to Ottie Ernest and Betty Jean Louise Martin Walker, in Prineville, Oregon, on April 8, 1962. She was a homemaker and loved crocheting, swimming, Christmas time and simply adored her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Keith Walker, a sister Arlene Icenhower, and two grandchildren, Asher Vallee and Annabelle Vallee.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Vallee of Lockesburg, Arkansas, four sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy Stubbs and Patricia Pruitt and Justin Stubbs and Tammy Glover of Lockesburg, Chris and Elizabeth Stubbs of Cove, Arkansas, Raymond and Amanda Vallee of Raleigh, Wyoming, one daughter and son-in-law, Jada and Eric LaPointe of Greenville, Mass, one brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Wendy of Lockesburg, one sister, Brenda Lewis of Lockesburg, and a sister-in-law, Melba Walker of Lockesburg.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kathy Vallee will be held Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 2:00P.M. in the Mt. Joy Baptist Church, Daisy, Arkansas with Bro. Wesley Blankenship and Bro. Leon McClesky officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Joy Cemetery, Daisy, Arkansas, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Friday, January 2nd from 6:00 until 8:00P.M.
Mr. John Ward, Jr.
Mr. John E. Ward, Jr., age 63, a resident of San Antonio, Texas, died Friday, December 26, 2014, in San Antonio, Texas.
He was born to John E., Sr. and Perlene Cranford Ward, in Horatio, Arkansas, on October 19, 1951. He served in the U.S. Army as a helicopter pilot and ranger. After serving in active duty, John retired from the National Guard with the rank of Major. After his military services, he worked in civil service as a helicopter pilot.
John was a Christian, and enjoyed helicopters, wood working, carpenter, motorcycles, and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia McClung Ward of San Antonio, Texas, one son, John S. Ward of Springfield, Missouri, a daughter and son-in-law, Carrie Ward and Brian Six of St. Louis, Missouri, two grandchildren, Nicia Ward and Senait Ward both of Springfield, Missouri; one brother and sister-in-law, Samuel L. and Mary Ward of Horatio, three sisters, Shirley J and Kenneth Steward of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Olivia and Gil Sharp of Horatio, and Rita and Dewey Evans of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. John Ward, Jr. will be held at 2:00 pm., Wednesday, December 31st in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jason Carlton officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the Horatio Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 30th from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Walter T. Sykes
Walter T. Sykes, age 89, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died Sunday, December 28, 2014 in the Rich Mountain Nursing and Rehab in Mena, Arkansas.
He was born December 10, 1925 in Gainesville, Texas to Myrtle Case Sykes and Edward Benjamin Sykes. He was retired from the Arkansas Highway Department; he was a World War II Navy veteran, serving in New Guinea, a 32nd degree Mason; a member of Belleville Masonic Lodge and member First Baptist Church in Lockesburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Sykes is survived by his wife of 67 years, Elverna Friday Sykes of Lockesburg; two sons, Randy Sykes and wife Terri of Spring, Texas and Leland Sykes and wife Tracy of Little Rock, Arkansas; one daughter, Valerie Eason Gathright and husband, Mike of Lockesburg; six grandchildren, Travis Sykes, Taylor Sykes, Courtney Sykes, Samantha Sykes, Michael Gathright and Brian Gathright.
Funeral services for Mr. Walter Sykes will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at First Baptist Church in Lockesburg. Burial will follow in Oddfellows Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family will be at the Sykes home.
Mr. Bobby Bevill
Sunset came for Bobby Rowland Bevill on Sunday, December 28, 2014, when he gained his wings to enter Heaven. Bobby was born on Wednesday, July 9, 1947, in Beebe, Arkansas to Linnie Bell and Mabel Etta Rogers Bevill.
He was a Vietnam Veteran and proudly served in the United States Army, where he received three Commendations medals and a Purple Heart. Bobby worked as an apprentice mechanic for a few years before he and Marlene moved to Gillham. He retired from Weyerhaeuser Company after working there for over thirty years. He worked for Walmart for five years. After retiring, he became an avid gardener. Bobby was a charter member of the Sevier County Farmer’s Market and loved sharing the bounty from his garden with friends and family. He loved visiting with people and was so proud of being able to provide fresh vegetables for others to enjoy. Bobby was a member of Punkin Center Hunting Club and enjoyed hunting and camping with his deer hunting buddies. Bobby knew God and was a Baptist.
Having fought cancer for over two years, it can honestly be said Bobby ran the race with pride and has now finished his course. God said “Welcome home my good and faithful servant.”
Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers, Roger Dale, William Charles, and Carl Thomas; two sisters – Linnie Mae and Patsy Ruth, his father and mother in loves – Jerrell Tyrone and Ophelia Bernadene Carmical Winn; and a brother in love – Jerrell Stanley Winn.
Bobby leaves behind to cherish his memory and honor him the love of his life for almost fifty years – Shirley Marlene Winn Bevill; three children who were his pride and joy – his sons Matthew Anthony Bevill and wife, Emily of Mena, Arkansas; Todd Jeremy Bevill and wife, Tiffany of North Little Rock, Arkansas, his daughter Bobbi Shirlene Bevill Aldridge and husband, Anthony of Pearcy, Arkansas, and his chosen grandson, Zac Bevill of North Little Rock; his sister, Mary Smith and husband Don of Carlisle, Arkansas, his brother, Ben Bevill and wife, Eddie of Cabot, Arkansas, his brother in love, Ronnie Winn of Conway; several nephews and nieces, along with a number of friends.
Sunset services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, De Queen, Arkansas. Burial with military rites will be held at Valley Cemetery near Gillham, Arkansas with Reverends Jerry Hill, Bob McManus, and Steven Chenoweth presiding. Visitation will be held at Chandler Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to everyone who has been there for us, prayed for us, and just loved us during this difficult time. Sadie and Sunnie from Ouachita Hospice were excellent care givers for which we are extremely thankful.

Reggie Paul Mayo
Reggie Paul Mayo, age 21, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at his home.
He was born September 28, 1993 in De Queen.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie Jones Mayo; and his grandfather, Lee Jones.
Reggie is survived by his father, Reggie Mayo; a special aunt and uncle, Charlie and Diana Mayo; one sister, Maggie Long of Vancouver, Washington; his grandmother, Virginia Jones and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graveside funeral services for Reggie Paul Mayo will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 27, 2014, in Avon Cemetery with Shane Haarmeyer officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
