Jorge Rivera
Mr. Jorge Rivera, age 38, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in De Queen Medical Center.

He was born July 20, 1976 in Coroneo, Guanajuato, Mexico. He was a rancher and a member of the St. Barbara Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tomas Rivera.

He is survived by his mother, Senorina Danel; one brother and sister-in-law, Alfredo and Susie Rivera; and two nephews, Thomas and Freddie.

A vigil service including the Holy Rosary will begin at 9:00 a.m. Friday, December 26, 2014 with a Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Barbara Catholic Church with Father Juan Manjarrez officiating. Burial will follow in the Clear Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

William Thomas Stafford
Mr. William Thomas Stafford, age 46, a resident of the West Otis Community of Sevier County, Arkansas, died Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at his home.

He was born to Joe and Nancy Black Stafford on June 21, 1968, in De Queen, Arkansas. William was a graduate of the Eagletown High School, and he worked on the family farm, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the river, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his parents, Joe and Nancy Stafford of De Queen, a brother and sister-in-law, Cliff and Andrea Stafford of De Queen, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorraine and Rick Williams of Dyer, Arkansas, and Jolene and Preston Smith of De Queen, five nephews, Matt Williams, Stephen, and his wife, Ashley Williams, Will Smith, Wes and his wife Paige Smith, and Connor Stafford, three nieces, Alicia Williams, Katherine Stafford, and Kaitlin Stafford, as well as other family members.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. William Stafford will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 26, 2014 in the West Otis Cemetery with Cy Davis officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral. The family will be at the home of Joe and Nancy Stafford, 1383 Highway 24 West, De Queen.

Mr. Joe Stinnett
Mr. Joe Stinnett, age 81, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Wednesday, December 24, 2014 In De Queen Therapy & Living Center, De Queen.

He was born to Clifford and Pearl Pettigrew Stinnett in Horatio, Arkansas, on September 29, 1933. Mr. Stinnett was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the U. S. Army. He was a retired accountant for Gray’s Butane. He enjoyed politics, and was an avid reader.

Mr. Stinnett was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Clarence Stinnett, and a sister, Bernice Stinnett.

He is survived by four nephews, Billy Joe Gray, John Thomas Gray, William Robert Pettigrew, and Dallas Carroll Pettigrew, and a sister-in-law, Louise Stinnett, as well as other family members and a host of friends.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Joe Stinnett will be held 2:00 P. M., Saturday, December 27th In Old Center Cemetery with Bro. Sam Hendricks officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Mrs. Dessie Rankin Holder Barber
Mrs. Dessie Rankin Holder Barber, age 86, a resident of Sims, Arkansas, died Monday, December 22, 2014 in National Park Medical Center, Hot Springs, Arkansas.

She was born to Thomas and Etta Birlew Rankins in Bethel, Oklahoma, on October 12, 1928. She was a member of the Faith Tabernacle of Mount Ida, Arkansas, and was a homemaker. She was an avid reader, enjoyed bird watching, loved cooking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Melton Holder and Thomas Barber, two sons, Melton Lee Holder and Van Buren Holder, a daughter, Arnetta Kaye Holder, two brothers, Hover Rankin and Jimmy Rankin, and a sister, Etta Louvisia Rankin.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty Chandler of De Queen, Arkansas, and Joyce Vann of Gillham, Arkansas, a son, Robert Ray Holder of Sims, Arkansas, a special sister-in-law, Betty McDougal of Eloy, Arizona, 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mrs. Dessie Holder Barber will be on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. Funeral Services for Mrs. Dessie Holder Barber will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 26, 2014 in the Faith Tabernacle, Mount Ida, Arkansas, with Rev. Paul Burke officiating. Burial will follow in the Barber Cemetery in Sims, Arkansas, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Tommie Ray Sims
Mr. Tommie Ray Sims, age 82, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Saturday, December 20, 2014, at his home.

He was born August 13, 1932 in the Walnut Springs Community of Sevier County. He worked for Weyerhaeuser Company at D & E Railroad in finance & administration. He was past president of the Rotary Club, served on the De Queen School Board, and was a former board member of the Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Sims served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the First Baptist Church of De Queen.

Mr. Sims was preceded in death by his father, Thomas James Sims, his mother, Nellie Stringfellow DeShazo, his step-father, Walter DeShazo; his sisters, Melba Long, Maxine Gray, Mazie Le Leux and Mona Prior; and a brother, Mitchell DeShazo.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Smith Sims of De Queen; two sons, Randall Sims of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Kevin Sims of De Queen; one daughter, Dotti Austin of Barling, Arkansas; one brother and sister-in-law, James Arvin and Donna Sims of Crystal Beach, Texas, one sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Dale Kesner of Little Rock, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Cameron and Landon Sims, Skylar Trammel, Carly Austin, Jesse Sims, Jace Sims and Kaisie Cravens; five great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Sims will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Josh Herweck officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Ida Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, December 22, 2014 at the funeral home.

Alvie Joe Causey
Mr. Alvie Joe Causey, age 74, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Sunday, December 21, 2014 in the Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born December 14, 1940 in De Queen. He worked for Dierks Lumber Yard for 25 years, served in the National Guard for 8 years and was a member of the De Queen Church of Christ.

Mr. Causey was preceded in death by his parents, Alvie Lee and Haley E. Ward Causey; and his siblings, Rozell, Ozell, Barbara, Donnie, Paul and Ricky.

He is survived by his wife, Onita Greathouse Causey of De Queen; one son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Diane Causey of De Queen; one daughter Nita Jo Cross of Cumby, Texas; four grandchildren, LaDonna and Alex Lynch, Justin and Jennifer Causey, Virgil Cross and Vanessa Cross; four great grandchildren, Tyler Lynch, Allison Lynch, Braxten Causey and Braydon Causey; four brothers, Hershel Causey of Swink, Oklahoma, Roy Causey of Missouri, Johnny Causey of Watts, Oklahoma and Charlie Causey of Idabel, Oklahoma; two sisters, Bonnie Rymer of Wright City, Oklahoma and Glenda Dockens of Center, Texas; one great aunt, Dorothy Moss of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Causey will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2014, in the Chapel Hill Cemetery with Charles Krudwig and Tye Barnett officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, December 22nd at the funeral home.

Mrs. Traci Lawson Admire
Mrs. Traci Lawson Admire, age 38, a resident of Cordenons, Italy, and formerly of Horatio/De Queen, Arkansas, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, in Cordenons, Italy.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014 at White’s Azle Funeral Home with her father Rev. Bill Lawson officiating.

She was born Aug. 3, 1976, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Traci was a loving mother and wife, daughter and friend.

Traci loved Texas and said she moved here as quickly as she could. Shortly after moving to Texas Traci met her future husband Dustin Admire. Traci and Dustin were married on August 8, 2008 and a few months later began their journey as an Air Force family. She loved being an Air Force wife and was always her husband’s biggest supporter. She loved to sing since she was a small girl and after moving to Italy found a new passion of performing in musical theater. Traci never met a stranger and had a smile for everyone she met. She loved Jesus and wanted everyone else to know and love Him as well and loved telling everyone about Him.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents J.E. and Waunie Loper, her paternal grandfather, Fred Steinberg, and two aunts Vickie Loper Kampstra and Tammy Loper Durand.
Survivors include her husband of 6 years, Staff Sargent Dustin Admire; two sons, Dakota and Kiowa Burnett, her mother and step-father, Debbie and Kerry Edmiaston, her father and step-mother, Bill and Carol Lawson, two brothers, Jamie Loper and Billy Lawson, one sister, Courtney White, her paternal grandmother, Minnie Steinberg and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
