Patsy Fern Cox
Mrs. Patsy Fern Cox, age 77, a resident of Idabel, Oklahoma, died Saturday, September 20, 2014 at her home.
She was born May 14, 1937 in the Provo Community in Lockesburg, Arkansas. She was a former inspector for Magnavox in Des Moines, Iowa. She loved dancing, fishing, setting around a campfire, being outside and nature.
Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her parents, Doc and Dessie McAnnelly; two sons, Mark Gaskill and Scotty Gaskill and one sister, Lois.
She is survived by one son, Richard Leroy Gaskill, Jr.; her special friend, George Thomas both of Idabel, Oklahoma; three sisters, Alice of De Queen, Linda of Ashdown and Sybil of Texas; one brother, Weldon of Shreveport, Louisiana; and one grandchild, Nickolas Gaskill of Clarksville, Texas.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Cox will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in Mt. Pleasant Church with Bro. Alfred Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Greens Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 23rd at the funeral home.
Gary Joe Stuard
Gary Joe Stuard, 61, of Dierks, Arkansas passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014, at his home.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Claud Stuard; brother, Ronald Stuard; and sister, Eileen Stuard Wehunt.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Stuard, of Dierks; mother, Marge Stuard of Iraan, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Jil and Mark Adams of Texarkana; and daughter, Paige Stuard of Hot Springs.
Joe dedicated his life to serving and helping others. He was very involved in the community. He led the Dierks Volunteer Fire and Rescue for many years, volunteered many hours with the Dierks Ambulance Service and Chamber of Commerce, and also served on the Dierks Police Department.
Joe was a wonderful husband. He loved hunting and fishing as much as possible with Diane. Most of all, Joe was an outstanding father who did anything and everything for "the girls."
Services will be Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Dierks at 11 AM. Graveside services will be Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Restland Cemetery in Iraan, TX at 10 AM.
Visitation will be Monday, September 22, 2014, from 6-8 at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.
Robert Lyn “Bob” Chandler
Robert Lyn “Bob” Chandler, age 64, a resident of Foreman, Arkansas, died Saturday, September 20, 2014, at his home.
Mr. Chandler was born December 3, 1949, in Umpire, Arkansas. He was a Navy veteran having served in the Vietnam War and was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church; he enjoyed searching for arrowheads, fishing, playing music, singing karaoke with family and he was a Razorback fan; he loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse M. and Lois Agnes Poole Chandler; three sisters, Margaret Irene Brophy, Barbara Bowlin and Betty Wittenmeyer; two nieces, Amy Chandler and Vicky Osborne and two nephews, Wes and Jay Chandler.
He is survived by his wife, Vada M. Chandler; four daughters and three sons-in-law; Bobbi and Darren Higgins of De Queen, Arkansas, Elizabeth and Colt Cassil of Lake Jackson, Texas, Alicia Kesterson of Denham Springs, Louisiana and Jeanie and Justin Flowers; three sons and two daughters-in-law, James R. Reynolds, Jr. and Korrin of San Antonio, Texas, Tommy Reynolds and Misty of Mt. Pleasant, Texas and Jeremy Lindsey of Foreman; three brothers and sisters-in-law, John David and Janine Chandler of Maud, TX, Jesse Wayne and Linda Chandler of De Queen, AR, and Carl and Jan Chandler of De Queen, AR; one sister and brother-in-law, Jean and James Jennings of Shreveport, LA; 19 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Chandler will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2014, in the Crossroads Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Steiner officiating. Burial will follow in the Belleville Cemetery near Lockesburg, Arkansas under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, September 22, 2014 at the funeral home.
Kathryn Denise Willis
Kathryn Denise Willis, age 51, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas.
She was born April 12, 1963, in San Diego, California to Steve and Trilby Vance. Kathryn was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in De Queen.
She is survived by her parents; her beloved children, Tessa Marie Willis of Conway, Arkansas, Dalton Willis and Landon Willis of De Queen; one brother, Steve Vance, Jr. and his wife, Stacy (her friend and “sister”) and their children who endeared their “Aunt Kat”, of De Queen and her maternal grandmother, Aline Nickerson of Horatio, Arkansas.

A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Angie Mae Almond Long
Mrs. Angie Mae Almond Long, age 95, a resident of De Queen, died Saturday, September 13, 2014 in the De Queen Medical Center.
She was born July 3, 1919 to Aaron Hartman and Ollie Mae Martin Almond in Gillham, Arkansas. She graduated from Gillham High School in 1937, and married Daniel E. Long in De Queen, Arkansas on March 26, 1940. She was a member of the Memorial Missionary Baptist Church and worked in retail sales, as well as a homemaker. She enjoyed needlework, and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings, Ruby Long, J. D. Almond, and Lewis David Almond, her daughter, Barbara Graffham, her husband, Daniel E. Long, and her grandson, Steven R Schulz.
She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, including Gaylene Gibson of Longview, Texas, and Itha Kay Keller of Hot Springs, and a number of cousins, including Kay Halper of Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 19th, 2014 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jason Carlton officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Terri Lynn Nelson
Terri Lynn Nelson, age 53, a resident of Winthrop, Arkansas died Friday, September 12, 2014 at her home.
She was born February 9, 1961 in De Queen, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church.
Terri was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Harold and Frances Jo Johns Nelson; a brother, James Nelson; and a grandchild, Sheridan Cody.
She is survived by one son, Danny Cody of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; her fiancé Terry E. Horn; three brothers, Joe John Nelson of Winthrop, Billy Joe Nelson of Horatio, Arkansas and Jerry Glen Nelson of Winthrop; and one grandchild, Aiden Cody.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Nelson will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 19, 2014 in Blackland Cemetery with Rev. Gary Steiner officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Hiedi Joe Smith
Hiedi Joe Smith, infant daughter of Wes and Paige Harrison Smith, residents of Horatio, died Tuesday, September 9, 2014 in Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Little Rock, Arkansas.
She was born in Texarkana, Texas, on September 2, 2014, attended the Old Time Gospel Church at Lockesburg.
Besides her parents, Hiedi is survived by her grandparents, Danny and Michelle Tollett Harrison of Lockesburg, Preston and Jolene Stafford Smith of Horatio, her great-grandparents, Gary and Betty Tollett, and Willie and Gloria Harrison all of Lockesburg, Arkansas, Joe and Nancy Stafford of Horatio, DeAnn Smith Elliott of De Queen, her great-great-grandparents, Hazel Tabler and Truman Tollett both of Lockesburg, her uncle, Will Smith of Texarkana, Arkansas, and her aunt, Allison Harrison of Lockesburg, and a number of other relatives.
