Iva Hendrix Dunlap
Mrs. Iva Hendrix Dunlap, age 80, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003 in Glendale, Ariz.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3 in the Chapel of Chimes at 59th and Northern Avenues in Glendale, Ariz.
She was born Oct. 13, 1922 in Horatio to James E. and Ruthie Van Trees Hendrix. She was prede-ceased by her husband, Jim Dunlap; three brothers, Barney Hendrix, Fay Hendrix and Aubrey Hendrix; and one sister, Inez Lester.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Gehringer of Arizona and Nancy Fields of Carolina; three sons, Ralph Dunlap of Flagstaff, Ariz., Johnny Dunlap of Glendale, Ariz., and Jimmy Dunlap of Arizona; one sister, Iona Munn of De Queen; one brother, Pete Hendrix of De Queen; eight grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Robert H. Shipp
Robert H. Shipp, age 74, resident of Prescott, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2003 in John McClellan VA Hospital at Little Rock.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29 in Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott with Rev. Donnie Dillard officiating. Burial followed in Bluff Springs cemetery, Nevada County.
He was born Aug. 11, 1929 in Nevada County to Wylie and Allie Purtle Shipp; was a retired farmer; and a member of Central Baptist Church at Prescott. He was predeceased by two brothers, Melvin and Gurvis; three sisters, Thalia, Margie and Norvell; and one grandson, Bart Hill III.
He is survived by two daughters, Judy Ardwin of Gillham and Joan King of Newport; two brothers, Hollis Shipp of Hope and D.P. Shipp of Memphis, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
The family received friends Thursday, Aug. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pauline Dickerson
Pauline "Polly" Dickerson, 93, of Sonora, Texas, and formerly of Lockesburg, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Personal Savior on September 21, 2003 in Eldorado, Texas at the Schleicher County Nursing Home.
Graveside services were at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at the Sonora cemetery with the Reverend Don Longoria officiating.
Polly was born August 5, 1910 in Amity, Arkansas to Ona and Jay Williams.
A long time resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, she was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Lockesburg, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Lloyd "Dick" Dickerson and beloved son Lloyd "Sonny" Dickerson.
Polly is survived by her daughter, Jan Grider and husband, Don Grider, of Sonora, Texas, grandchildren Kerry Grider and wife, Cheryl, of Red Oak, Texas, Paulette Grider of Abilene, Texas, and Janice G. Caruthers of Sonora, Texas; great-grandchildren Jennifer Grider of Red Oak, Texas, Donald Bean and Courtney Caruthers of Sonora, Texas; and two great-great-grandchildren James and Jade Bean.
Polly will be remembered, loved and missed as a faithful Chris-tian, as well as a loving and caring, mother and grandmother. Many precious times are held in all hearts.
The family would like to extend a very warm thanks to the staff of the Schleicher County Nursing Home for their constant and dedicated care.
Burnis Taylor
Mrs. Burnis Leona Stubbs Taylor, age 77, a resident of De Queen, died Friday, September 19, 2003 in the De Queen Regional Medical Center.
She was born Tuesday, September 29, 1925 in De Queen. She was a homemaker and a member of the Geneva Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by two sons: Bobby Wayne Taylor and Jr. Taylor; her parents: James Alexander and Mary Ethel Bales Stubbs; one sister: Gladys Evans; and two brothers: Leroy Stubbs and Ruel Stubbs.
She is survived by her husband: Henry Taylor of De Queen; two sons and daugh-ters-in-law: Steve and Marilyn Taylor and Archie and Betty Taylor, all of De Queen; four sisters: Loree Evans of Wickes, Evelyn Johnson and Rosalee Melton, both of De Queen, and Pearly Stubbs of Nashville; and four grandchildren: Zack, Ashley, Jennifer, and Daniel.
Funeral services for Mrs. Taylor were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 22, 2003 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Faron Rogers and Rev. J. L. Walker officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Ida cemetery.
The family received friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, September 21, at the funeral home.
Mildred Lucille Chandler
Mildred Lucille Chandler, age 76, resident of Poteau, Okla., died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003 in Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center at Poteau.
She was born Aug. 3, 1927 in Grady County, Okla.; was a homemaker; and a member of Southside Baptist Church and the Poteau Pearls.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23 in Southside Baptist Church at Poteau with Rev. Dale Rogers and Rev. Ralph Staggs officiating. Burial followed in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
She is survived by her husband, William D. Chandler Jr. of Poteau, Okla.; four daughters, Cathie Knight of Hosckton, Ga., Anna Fengel of Villisca, Ia., Theresa Mace of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Carolyn Brannam of Huntington; three sons, Ray Chandler of Poteau, Okla., David Chandler of Quartz Hill, Calif., and Tom Chandler of Wasillia, Alaska; one sister, Wanda Shafer of Poteau, Okla.; 18 grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Diann Price
Diann Butler Price, age 45, of Aubrey, Texas, passed away February 11, 2003 at her home.
Diann was born on December 25, 1957 to Wilbur Lawrence and Billie Ruth Butler in Dallas County, Texas.
She is survived by her husband: Steve Price; her children: Caleb, Zachary and Cole Lane, along with her stepsons Jeff and Robbie Price; her parents: Wilbur and Billie Butler of Frisco, Texas; three sisters: Sheila Wolfe of Little Elm, Texas, Gail Dansbury of Van Alystine, Texas, and Teresa White of Lewisville, Texas; her brother: Matthew of Stephenville, Texas; her uncle: Jerry Sam Butler of Horatio, Arkansas; two aunts: Glenda Sims of De Queen, Arkansas and Greta McGowen of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mary Youngblood Butler and W. L. Bud and Martha Butler of De Queen, Arkansas.
Diann never met a stranger and we will all miss her joy for life. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, loving daughter and sister, and a caring wife.
A memorial service was held Saturday, February 15, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Little Elm, Texas with Marc Farnell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Diann to "Friends of the Family" in Denton, Texas.
Aubrey Dale Jude
Aubrey Dale Jude, age 48, resident of De Queen, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003 at his home.
Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.
He was born Oct. 20, 1954 at San Antonio, Tex., to Lawrence and Mary Mell Hall Jude.
He is survived by one brother, Michael Raye Jude of San Antonio, Tex.; and one sister, P.J. Jude of Chicago, Ill.
Robert Brown, Sr.
Mr. Robert Dale Brown, Sr., age 61, resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003 in the De Queen Regional Medical Center, De Queen.
He was born to Hayes and Betty Jo Akins Brown at Williams, Arizona, on August 5, 1941.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U.S. Navy, was re-tired from Pilgrim's Pride where he served as Freezer Supervisor with 20-1/2 years service, and was a Baptist. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Donna Sue Prock.
He is survived by his wife, Bernardine M. Limbordo Brown of De Queen; one son and daughter-in-law: Robert Dale, Jr., and Diana Brown of De Queen; one daughter and son-in-law: Darla and Clayton Sullivan of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one sister: Karen Tyler of San Jose, California; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four nieces; and a number of great-nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Robert D. Brown, Sr., were held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 1, 2003 in the Chapel Hill cemetery with Dr. Dale Hankins officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Inez Gentry Shaw
Mrs. Inez Gentry Shaw, age 82, resident of De Queen, died Friday, May 23, 2003 at her home.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 25 in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with J.C. Seward officiating. Burial followed in Avon cemetery.
She was born April 16, 1921 in De Queen to John and Alice Holland Gentry; was a homemaker; and of the Pentecostal faith. She was predeceased by her husband, Osborne Shaw; one daughter, Mary Jane Holt; two brothers; and two granddaughters.
She is survived by three sons, Doyle (Buck) Shaw, Curtis Shaw and Sammy (Bubba) Shaw, all of De Queen; seven daughters, Lorene Mullinax, Jewell Shaw, Patricia Shaw, Katie Valdez, Diane Shaw, and Mary Kay Edmiaston, all of De Queen, and Shirley Pratt of Broken Bow, Okla.; one sister, Bobbie Jean Ruth of De Queen; 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
