James Earl "Pop" Rogers
James Earl “Pop” Rogers, age 80, a resident of De Queen, died Saturday, August 2, 2014, at his home.
He was born May 18, 1934, in Greenville, Texas. He worked for Brown & Root and was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos James and Veda Isbell Rogers; his wife, Mary Susie Cravens Rogers; three brothers and one sister.
He is survived by three sons, one daughter, two step-sons, one step-daughter and two sisters.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements by Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Deborah Poole
Mrs. Deborah Odetta Haley Poole, age 62, a resident of Texarkana, Texas, died Thursday, July 31 2014, at her home.
She was born to Roy Junior Haley and Lola Rae Buck Haley Pratt, on December 26, 1951 in Mesa, Arizona. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved animals, especially her dog, Gabi Rose, and her cat, Matilda.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings: Ron Haley, David Haley, Jon Pratt, and a daughter Chelle Haley Poole.
She is survived by her husband of over 39 years, Horace Poole of Texarkana, Texas, four sons and daughters-in-law: Wayne and Nancy Poole of Texarkana, Arkansas, Perry Poole of Nash, Texas, Horace "P.J." Poole and Tiffani of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Zachary Poole of Texarkana, Texas; two daughters and a son-in-law: Lisa Poole of Texarkana, Texas, Ra and David White also of Texarkana Texas; a brother: Tracy Haley of Stidham, Oklahoma; a sister and brother-in-law, Janell and Lupe Trujillo of Queen Creek, Arizona; a sister by choice: Sherry Patterson of Texarkana, Texas; five grandchildren: Rachael, and her husband Matt Helton of Nashville, Breagan White, Courtland White and Morgan White, all of Texarkana, Texas, and Alex Poole of Texarkana, Arkansas; a great-grandchild, Easton Helton of Nashville, Arkansas and a number of nieces and nephews.

Verna Isabell Godwin Skidmore
Mrs. Verna Isabell Godwin Skidmore, age 89, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas died Friday, August 1, 2014, in Brookewood Nursing Center in De Queen.
She was born June 9, 1925 in De Queen. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lone Oak Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Skidmore was preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Della Cocke Godwin; her husband, Carl Henry Skidmore; an infant son, Carlton Noel Skidmore; a granddaughter, Stephanie Skidmore; and a sister, Pauline Godwin.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Charlotte Skidmore of De Queen; one daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Jimmy Barfield of Texarkana, Arkansas; and a number of loving nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Skidmore will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 4, 2014 in the Mt. Ida Cemetery with Randy Davis officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the funeral home.
Lottie Lou Belcher Suggs
Mrs. Lottie Lou Belcher Suggs, age 74, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Wednesday, July 30, 2014, in Christus St. Michael Health System, Texarkana.
She was born in Hensley, Arkansas, on July 28, 1940, to Mose and Maddie Elizabeth Campbell Belcher. She was a retired employee of Pilgrim’s Pride, as well as a homemaker. She was a member of the Williamson Community Church, and enjoyed cooking, gardening, old western movies, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings, Alton Belcher, Robert Belcher, Robbie Pogue, her husband, Paul Harold Suggs, a grandchild, Tina Taylor, and a great-grandchild, Layne Frachiseur.
She is survived by three sons, Jimmy Suggs of Hope, Ark., Danny Suggs of De Queen, and Bobby Suggs of Wake Village, Texas, four daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda Brown of Wickes, Glenda Suggs of Foreman, Jeanette and Eugenio Rojas of De Queen, and Loretta and Fernando Rivas of Horatio, three brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Barbara Belcher, Steven Belcher, and Miles and Ann Belcher all of De Queen, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mae Schraeder and Marilyn and Steve Taylor all of De Queen, 19 grandchildren, Casey, Jennifer, Laura, Cody, Paul, J. J., Audriana, Pri`anna, Telisha, Delfina, Tevita, Isauro, Shawna, Brett, Kirsten, Lauren, Stephanie, Maddie and Junior, 26 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews, as well as two special sister-in-laws, Dora Belcher, and Floye Mae Suggs.
Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Lottie Suggs will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 2nd in the Mt. Ida Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Roden officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Friday, August 1st from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
John Edward Richards
John Edward Richards, age 41, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in Horatio.
He was born June 21, 1973 in Nashville, Arkansas. He was a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Nichols Richards and a sister, Dottie Langley.
He is survived by his wife, Tabitha Tipton Richards of Horatio; one daughter, Lexi Richards; one son, Austin Richards, both of Horatio; his father, Bryan Richards of De Queen, Arkansas; three sisters, Carol Lamb of Hope, Arkansas, Pam Langley of Sarepta, Louisiana, and Nancy Kenworthy of Hope, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Bubba Randall.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 8, 2014, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Glenn Tropp officiating.
Ronald Lee Simmons
Ronald Lee Simmons, age 59, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas died Sunday, July 27, 2014 in Texarkana, Texas.
He was born July 7, 1955. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Lockesburg First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, C.O. “Pud” and Bobbie Joyce Shinn Simmons and a brother, James Alan Simmons.
He is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Jesse Simmons, Jacky and Leslie Simmons and Clifton Simmons all of Lockesburg; five grandchildren, Coulter, Harrison, Emma, Rayle and Madie.
Funeral services for Mr. Simmons will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2014 in the Lockesburg First Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Gilliland officiating. Burial will follow in the Coulter Memorial Cemetery in Lockesburg under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
