Mr. Coy Chandler
Mr. Coy Ramsey Chandler, age 89, a resident of De Queen, died Thursday, July 10, 2014, in the Christus St. Michael Health System, Texarkana.
He was born to Levi and Mattie L. Ramsey Chandler in Horatio, Arkansas, on June 2, 1925. He was a retired employee of Frozen Food Express, and a member of the First Baptist Church of De Queen. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mable Blankenship, and in his wife of over 66 years, Doris L. Hames Chandler.
He is survived by one son, Gail Chandler of De Queen, a daughter and son-in-law, Sondra Lavone and Chuck Foster of Gramby, Mo., three brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy Lee Chandler of Abilene,Texas, Arlis and Jackie Chandler of Horatio, and Charles and Charlotte Chandler of De Queen, five sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Cooper of Glenpool, Okla, Henrietta and Alvie Nix of Horatio, Mittie Jean and Sam Hendricks of Horatio, Janette and Leon Durham of Mesquite, Texas, Patricia and Danny Lipsey of Horatio, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Coy Chandler will be announced by Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
William Deland Pritchett
William Deland Pritchett, Sr., age 67, a resident of Grannis, Arkansas, died Monday, July 7, 2014, in Mena Regional Health System in Mena, Arkansas.
He was born May 7, 1947, in Century, Florida. He was a sawyer for Lewis Lumber.
Mr. Pritchett was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Dora Scott Pritchett; two brothers, Earl Pritchett and Grover Pritchett, Jr. and one sister, Dora Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl Hubbard Pritchett; one son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Gloria Pritchett all of Grannis; three sisters, Mary Barker, Paulette Briet and Judy Pritchett all of California; two grandchildren, Jacob and Gabbi Pritchett and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Pritchett will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2014, in the Wickes Pentecostal Church of God. Burial will follow in the Baker Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 9th at the funeral home.
Charles Austin “Nub” Young
Charles Austin “Nub” Young, 75, was born on May 1, 1939 to Clifton Young and Ruth Montgomery.
Having been born in Frog Level, Arkansas, the Lord showing his sense of humor brought Nub to Toad Suck, Arkansas where he graduated to glory surrounded by his loving family, on July 5, 2014. Nub graduated from De Queen High School in 1957, where he set a school record for pole-vaulting in track and field. He attended the University of Arkansas where he majored in business. An active servant of the Lord, he was ordained at the age of 25, the youngest to be ordained at De Queen First Baptist Church, where he also served as chairman of the deacons. He later held this position at both Ripley Baptist and Trinity Baptist in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Nub was a Sunday school teacher for 30 years and was a member of South Jefferson Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. He and his wife Doylene were Sevier County Farm Family of the year. He owned H&H Wholesale Florists and The Lollipop Shop in De Queen, Arkansas, and a Chicken Brokerage Firm called Midwest Foods of Texas. He was also employed by Mountaire Poultry, later known as Pilgrim’s Pride, as a Grower, Sales Manger, and as an auditor. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Vernon Young; and mother-in-law Lona Kitchens.
Nub is survived by his wife Doylene Selman Young, they began their journey together on July 5, 1959 and ended their earthly journey on July 5, 2014; his three daughters and three sons-in-love, Laura Walls (Butch), Sheila Eddy (Scott), Kristen “KiKi” Fobell (Chris); Papa to 11 grandchildren, Travis Walls, Tara Adams (Nate), Tyler Walls (Ashley), Sarah, Rebekah, & Daniel Eddy, Kaitlyn Bretches, Parker Jones, Victoria, Jillian, and Abigail Fobell; two great grandchildren Justice & Gracelyn Walls; his sister Irma Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Annie Geraldine Higgins Branson, age 73, a resident of Eagletown, Oklahoma died Thursday, July 3, 2014 in Idabel, Oklahoma.
She was born July 15, 1940 in Sevier County, Arkansas. She retired as a U.S.D.A. inspector with 40 years of service, and was a Baptist.
Mrs. Branson was preceded in death by her parents, W.E. “Bill” and Ellan “Skeete” Anz Higgins; her husband, Frank Lee Branson; and a brother, Carl “Blue” Higgins.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Christie Branson of Eagletown; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Tracy Herrington of Idabel; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Darrell and Marsha Higgins and Dalton and Sue Higgins; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Jane Sims, Brenda and Jim McDonald and Linda “Polly” Sullivan and Lee Branscum, all of De Queen, Arkansas; four grandsons, Chase and Sandra Dawn Leonard of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Mathew Leonard of Eagletown, Carlton Leonard of Idabel and Riley and Macy Branson of De Queen; one granddaughter, BriAnna Branson of Eagletown; two step-granddaughters, Magon Herrington of Midwest City, Oklahoma and Mackenzee Herrington of Houston, Texas; one great grandchild, Gramm Lee Branson; three step great grandchildren, Jace Gates, Bradyn Herrington and Rileigh Herrington; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Branson will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2014 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Duane Alspaw and George Frachiseur officiating. Burial will follow in the Millcreek Cemetery.

Kathleen Pillow Seal
Kathleen Pillow Seal (93), a resident of Piggott, died Friday, July 4, 2014 in Piggott, Ark.
She and her twin sister Magleen were born August 25 1920, in Pollard, Ark to the late Rev. Sam and Nora Pillow. She devoted her life to her family and home. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Piggott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Brauton Seal and son-in-law, John R. Lingle, four sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Lingle of Piggott; two sons, Jim Seal and and wife Donna of Conway, Ark and Billy Seal and wife Cathy of De Queen, Ark; one brother, Tom Pillow of Richi, Fla., two sisters, Shirley Whaley of Piggott, Ark. and Barbara Mooney of West Palm Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren, Cara Lingle, Katie Bonilla, Kyle Seal, Emily McCarron and Daniel Seal; five great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 am, Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Piggott with the Rev’s. Andy Newbill and Kyle Seal officiating.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Hoggard and Sons funeral home.
Geraldine Higgins Branson

Billy Jack Kiser
Mr. Billy Jack Kiser, age 84, a resident of De Queen, died Wednesday, June 25th in Christus St. Michael Health System, Texarkana.
He was born to Leo Dellon and Betty Mae Farmer Kiser, in De Queen, Arkansas, on March 5, 1930. He was a retired Lt. Colonel, serving with the U S Army, and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was also retired executive administrator for the Housing Authority and served as a VA Benefits Officer. He was a member of De Queen Rotary, where he served as past president, a Paul Harris Fellow recipient, and was a member of the AARP #2078. He enjoyed reading, and loved animals, especially his dog, BeeBob.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Lou Dellon Stephens.
He is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Joan Short Kiser of De Queen, two daughters and a son-in-law, GayLynn Kiser of Austin, Texas, Jennifer and Bobby Bagley of De Queen, a granddaughter, Chrystal Morgan Sweeden of De Queen, a brother, Harrol Lee Kiser of Georgetown, Texas, and a number of nieces and nephews.
