Annie Axton
Annie Estaline Cook Axton, age 87, a resident of Dierks, died Monday, June 2, 2003 in Texarkana, Arkansas.
She was born on July 1, 1915 in Dierks to Jasper and Martha Isabelle Bryant Cook. She was a homemaker and a member of the Dierks Assembly of God Church.
Mrs. Axton was preceded in death by her husband: L. T. Axton on February 18, 1976.
She is survived by two sons: Harold Axton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Carroll Axton of Houston, Texas; two daughters: Judy Gillespie of Wake Vil-lage, Texas and Melba Killian of Texarkana, Texas; four grandchildren: Teresa Knight, Steve Killian, Stephanie Francis and Brittany Gillespie; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Axton will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 9, 2003 in the Dierks Assembly of God Church with Rev. Jerry Jester officiating. Burial will follow in the Dierks cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 7 at the funeral home in Dierks and you may register at the funeral home on Friday and Saturday.
Lisa Elizabeth Plowman
Mrs. Lisa Elizabeth "Beth" Byford Plowman, age 24, resident of Dierks, died Saturday, May 10, 2003 in St. Joseph’s Regional Health Center in Hot Springs.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 13 in Mt. View Baptist Church at Umpire with Rev. Kenny Bizzell officiating. Burial followed in Athens cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
She was born July 7, 1978 in Houston, Tex., to Virginia Byford Reed; was a homemaker; and a mem-ber of Mt. View Baptist Church at Umpire.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck Plowman of Dierks; and two sons, Chuckie and Darin Plowman of Dierks.
Donald Eugene McIninch
Donald Eugene McIninch, age 55, resident of Lockesburg, died Saturday, May 24, 2003 at his home.
Cremation was under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.
A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 2 in Old Union Church at Lockesburg with Rev. Alan Davis officiating.
He was born Jan. 12, 1948 at Stringtown, Okla., to Harvey K. and Polly Ann Marketa Basham McIninch; and was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by two sons, Steve McIninch of the U.S. Army, Kuwait and David McIninch of Fre-derick, Okla.; two daughters, Tammy McIninch of Dallas, Tex., and Andrea McIninch of Wichita Falls, Tex.; two brothers, Robert McIninch of Indiana and Roger McIninch of Victoria, Tex.; three sisters, Patricia Cheek of Tulsa, Okla., Janie Gonzales of Wichita Falls, Tex., and Judy McWhorter of Lockesburg; and one grandson.
Ad Grayson Rogers
Ad Grayson "Dugan" Rogers, age 87, resident of Paragould, died Monday, May 26, 2003 in Paragould Nursing & Rehab Center.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 29 in Linwood cemetery at Paragould with Rev. Charles DeVane and Rev. Gerald James officiating, under the direction of Heath Funeral Home of Paragould.
He was born April 11, 1916 at Paragould; was a retired postman after 38 years of service; was a member of Grace Bible Baptist Church in Paragould and taught the men’s Sunday school class for 51 years; sang in the Jolly Elder’s senior adult choir; and had been active in the Paragould Little League, Babe Ruth and American Legion baseball programs serving as secretary/treasurer, coach and umpire. He was predeceased by his parents, C.E. "Buck" and Princie Grayson Rogers; two brothers, Benny Rogers and Earl Rogers; and one sister, Frances Barnes.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anita Rogers of Paragould; one son, Faron Rogers of De Queen; one daughter, Audri Waddell of Jonesboro; five grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church Youth Fund, East Side Baptist Church Youth Fund or First Baptist Church Youth Fund.
Lou Ann Martin
Mrs. Lou Ann Martin, age 68, resident of Lockesburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003 at her home.
Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.
She was born June 21, 1934 in Texarkana, Tex.; and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, William Charles Martin Jr. of Lockesburg.
Fay Hendrix
Mr. Fay V. Hendrix, age 73, a resident of De Queen, died Monday, May 5, 2003 in the Brookewood Nursing Center in De Queen.
He was born on Sunday, March 23, 1930 in Horatio to James E. and Ruthie Van Trees Hendrix. He was retired from the U.S. Army, a member of the Church of Christ and a avid bowler.
Mr. Hendrix was preceded in death by one sister: Inez Lester; and one brother: Barney Hendrix.
He is survived by one son: Van Hendrix of Smiths, Alabama; one daughter: Jodi Hendrix, U.S. Navy, San Diego, California; his wife: Jean Hendrix of Columbus, Georgia; two sisters: Iona Munn of De Queen and Ivy Dunlap of Peoria, Arizona; two brothers: Poker Hendrix and Pete Hendrix, both of De Queen and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Hendrix were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 8, 2003 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Van Ledbetter, minister, offi-ciating. Burial followed in the Redmen cemetery, under the direction of Wilk-erson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Myrtle Leona Lawrence
Mrs. Myrtle Leona Lincoln Lawrence, age 86, resident of Horatio, died Monday, April 7, 2003 in the Christus St. Michael Hospital, Texarkana.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 9 in the Assembly of God Church of Horatio with Rev. J. L. Walker officiating. Burial followed in the Horatio cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
She was born to Ira and Etta Taylor Lincoln in Bowie County, Texas on June 26, 1916. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church of Horatio, and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E. A. Lawrence.
She is survived by one son, Alvin Lawrence of Horatio, one granddaughter, one great-grandson, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Billy Roy Springer
Billy Roy Springer, age 76, resident of Abernathy, Tex., died Saturday, March 29, 2002 in Brookewood Nursing Center in De Queen.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 31 in Chandler Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 2 in Abernathy cemetery at Abernathy, Tex.
He was born Sept. 24, 1926 in Haskell, Tex., to John B. Springer and Rebecca Hastey Springer; was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II; a retired truck driver; a Baptist; and a member of the American Legion and VFW He was predeceased by his wife, Carrie Daughtery Springer.
He is survived by two sons, Keith Springer of Foreman and Leslie Springer of Abernathy, Tex.; three sisters, Theada Barton of Cove, Maurine Martin of Mena, and Mary Jo Martin of Virginia Beach, Va.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Michael Alan Leathers
Michael Alan Leathers, age 48, resident of Broken Bow, Okla., died Monday, March 24, 2003 at his home.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 27 in First Baptist Church at Wright City, Okla. with Bro. Neil Jackson officiating. Burial followed in Slater Memorial cemetery at Wright City under the direction of Brumley-McCurtain Funeral Home of Broken Bow.
He was born July 14, 1954 in Lebanon, Ore., to Clifford Wayne Leathers Sr. and Mary Lou Belle Rowan; was a truck supervisor for Tyson Foods in Grannis; and was a Baptist. He was predeceased by his father, Clifford Leathers Sr.; his mother, Mary Lou Belle Rowan; and two brothers, Clifford Leathers Jr. and Ricky Leathers.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Driver Leathers of Broken Bow, Okla.; two sons, Michael Leathers and Robert Leathers, both of Broken Bow, Okla.; one daughter, Suzie Whitehead of Broken Bow, Okla.; four brothers, Charles Leathers of Mt. Pleasant, Tex., Randy Rowan of Watson, Okla., Ronnie Rowan of Broken Bow, Okla., and Chris Leathers of Antlers, Okla.; five sisters, Judy Prewitt and Priscilla Rowan, both of Broken Bow, Okla.; Vicki Leathers, Toni Leathers and Stephany Leathers, all of Antlers, Okla.; two grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Sibyl Joyce Yarbrough
Sibyl Joyce Yarbrough, age 83, resident of Texarkana, Tex., died Friday, March 21, 2003 in a Texarkana hospital.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 25 in East Memorial Gardens, under the direction of East Funeral Home, Moores Lane.
She was born April 13, 1919 in Blevins; was a homemaker; and a nursing assistant. She was prede-ceased by her husband, Guy H. Yarbrough; a son, Bobby F. Yarbrough, a daughter, Linda J. Velasquez; and a granddaughter, Kerri Lynn Lansdell.
She is survived by two sons, Douglas R. Yarbrough of Richmond, Va., and Guy Ricky Yarbrough of Seattle, Wash.; two daughters, Carolyn J. Formby of Texarkana and Peggy A. Yarbrough of Stockton, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
