Jesse B. Sullivan
Jesse B. Sullivan, age 69, of Wickes, Arkansas died Sunday, April 20, 2014 at his home after a long battle with cancer. He was born on Friday, April 13, 1945 to James Harrison and Eunice Ethel Cook Sullivan in the Baker Community.
Jesse graduated from Rapid City high in South Dakota and then attended southern Arkansas University. Jesse also served his country in the United States Army in company A, 2nd Brigade, 18th Infantry, 2nd Platoon while in Vietnam, where he received a Bronze Star Medal and Air Medal for Meritorious Achievement in serving his country. He worked at the Union Bank of Mena for 32 years, served as Manager of the Wickes Branch and retired as Senior Vice-President at the Main Branch. Jesse served his community by being involved on numerous boards including 27 years on the Southwest Arkansas Electric Cooperative Board and numerous years as President of the Wickes School board. Jesse attended the Wickes Nazarene Church and was a lifelong cowboy and rancher. Jesse was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
Jesse is preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Bill Cohn.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Dorothy Autrey Sullivan of Wickes; two sons, Jason Brian Sullivan and wife, Teddi of Mena and Jesse Eric Sullivan of Tyler, Texas; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Harley Sullivan of Mena, Maarion and Mary Ann Sullivan of Branson, Missouri and Billy and Sandy Sullivan of Wickes; one sister Yvonne Cohn of Glenham, South Dakota; two grandchildren, Jackson Brian Sullivan and Sarah Emily Sullivan both of Mena; a brother and sister-in-law, Dwayne Autrey and wife Tammy of Buffalo, Missouri and Debbie Autrey of De Queen; extended family: the late Rick Kveum and wife Angie, Kathy Goode and husband John, Kitty Kveum and Janet Kveum, the late Janice Kveum, the late Irene Bogart, Thomas and Sheri James, DeLynn Hale and husband Gerald, Suellen Sullivan, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Holbert Auditorium at the Wickes Campus at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor John Heide, Leon McCleskey, John Newlin and Pastor Billy Sullivan officiating. interment will follow in the Baker Cemetery in Wickes under the direction of Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena. Visitation will be Friday, April 25, 2014 from 6-8 pm at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Pallbearers will be David Maddox, John Montgomery, Larry Dunaway, John McLaughlin, John Hill and John Roberts. Honorary Pallbearers will be Phillip Hensley, Ed Stevenson, Don Stemple, Lendall Martin, Mike Salem, Dale White and Sherman Price.

Bonnie Jean Smith
Mrs. Bonnie Jean Smith, age 85, a resident of Texarkana, Texas, died Friday, April 18, 2014 in Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana.
She was born on October 5, 1928 in Umpire, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Rissie Ralls Baber; husband, Ovea Noel Smith and one daughter, Elizabeth Farmer.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna Kesterson and Brenda Smith Burns both of Texarkana, Arkansas; one son, Terry Lynn Smith of Umpire; five grandchildren, Tonya Wilkerson, Jason Allison, Anthony Boquin, Justin Dominguez and Noel Hughes; eight great grandchildren, Rodrick Steel, Elizabeth Ashalintubbi, Kaden Wilkerson, Mariana Dominguez, Eric Lane Dominguez, Bonnie Allison, Victoria Allison and Madyx Boquin and one great-great granddaughter, Samantha Steel.
Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2014 in the Athens Missionary Baptist Church in Athens, Arkansas with Bro. Scott Kitchens officiating. Burial will follow in the Athens Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, April 21st at the Funeral Home in De Queen.
John H. Butler
John H. Butler was born on November 17, 1928 at Lockesburg, Arkansas to Henry and Emma Young Butler. He died April 17, 2014 at Wadley Hospital, Texarkana, Texas.
He graduated from Mineral Springs high school. He was active in all sports, especially baseball where he loved pitching and was very good at that. He pitched some in semi-pro baseball and loved that. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict but was stationed in Germany as a Military Policeman. After being discharged from Military service he became a Policeman with the Texarkana, Arkansas Police Department. He was the first person chosen as Captain in the history of the department. He was promoted through the ranks until he became Chief of Police and at his retirement after thirty four years he was Director of Public Safety. He retired from the Department in 1990 and moved to the farm where he loved his quarter horses, cows and Australian Shepherd dogs. He loved raising a large garden to share with family and friends. He did this as late as 2013. He was a member of Lockesburg First United Methodist Church where he has served as Chairman of many boards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mildred Baxley and a brother, Dennis Butler.
He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Audine Butler, a sister, Bonnie Johnson of Sulphur Springs, Texas, many nieces and nephews and a host of many wonderful friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Butler will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 21, 2014 in Lockesburg First United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in the Bellville Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 20th at the funeral home.

Gail Willis Sims
Melanie Gail Willis Sims, age 58, a resident of Eagletown, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at her home.
She was born January 29, 1956 in De Queen, AR. Gail was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to so many. In her professional life, she was a Registered Nurse who was dedicated to caring for others.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Roy M. and Martha Ann LeForce Willis.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Deirdre Sims and grandson, Taylor Sims of Columbia, TN; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Brenda and Marty Landry, and Teresa Willis and one brother, Rocky Willis all of Eagletown; three nieces, Alisha Wright Lewis and husband Mark of De Queen, AR, Misty Jarvis Blackshire and husband Argie of Tulsa, OK and Tessa Willis of Conway, AR; five nephews, Ryan Marshall and wife Suprina of Forney, TX, Jason Landry and wife Camille of Austin, TX, Jay Wright and wife Lyndi of Nichols Hills, OK, Dalton Willis of Russellville, AR and Landon Willis of De Queen, AR.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 21, 2014, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Clark LeForce officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Dillard D. Hill
Mr. Dillard D. Hill, age 83, a resident of Dierks, died Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at his home.
He was born October 1, 1930 in the Burg Community near Umpire, Arkansas. He was a logger all his life, an avid hunter and a Baptist. He married Ila Lavelle Artre on July 5, 1950.
Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his parents, James and Rosa Choate Hill; 3 brothers, 7 sisters and one daughter, Sandra D. Hill Simmons.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ila Hill; three daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Gary Bobo of Dierks, AR, Cathy and Bruce Francis of Kirby, AR and Jeanne and Glenn Davis of De Queen, AR; one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Madonna Hill of Dierks, AR; one sister, Betty Lee Brock of Dierks, AR; 12 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Hill will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 19, 2014 in Dierks First Baptist Church with David Blasé officiating. Burial will follow in the Burg Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.

Mr. Dan Wayne Chilcoat
Mr. Dan Wayne Chilcoat, age 72, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas died Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at his home.
He was born July 30, 1941 in Red Lick, Texas. He was retired from the Arkansas Forestry Service. He was a member of the Bellville Masonic Lodge #35 and Old Union Hunting Club.
Mr. Chilcoat was preceded in death by his parents, Claud Lafayette and Opal Irene Addams Chilcoat; his wife, Othetta May Houser Chilcoat; one brother, Glen Morris Chilcoat and two half-brothers, Billy Jordan and Robert Jordan.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa Gay Chilcoat Smith and Mike of Lockesburg; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy Kirk Chilcoat and Shellie Mae of Lockesburg; one brother, T.K. Chilcoat of Wilton, AR; one sister and brother-in-law, Bobbie and Graham Hendricks of Colfax, LA; 4 grandchildren, Ashlee Michelle Smith Chandler, Shelby Danielle Smith, Amy Renae Chilcoat Wolcott and Mason Allen Chilcoat; 3 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Chilcoat will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 18, 2014 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen with Travis Lane and Jerrel Helms officiating. Burial will follow in the Coulter Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Mario Cisneros
Mr. Mario Cisneros Murillo, age 39, a resident of De Queen, died near his home in De Queen. He was born to J. Guadalupe Cisneros Zavala and Elena Murillo Ayala on February 19, 1975, in Michoacán, Mexico. He was a member of Saint Barbara's Catholic Church in De Queen, and worked construction. He was a member of the America Futbol Soccer Club, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elena Murillo Ayala.
He is survived by his wife, Neybi Gutierrez of De Queen, three sons, John Cisneros, Damian Cisneros, and Aaron Cisneros all of the home, his father, J. Guadalupe Cisneros Zavala of Mexico, three sisters, Rubicelia Cisneros of Dallas, Texas, Maria Guadalupe Cisneros, and Beatriz Cisneros both of Mexico, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 12:00 Noon in Saint Barbara's Catholic Church with Father Edward D'Almeida officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday and Thursday at Chandler Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held at 5:00 P.M., Sunday, April 20th and visitation will be held at Saint Barbara's Catholic Church on Sunday, April 20, 2014.
