Mr. Gary Chenoweth

Mr. Gary Chenoweth, age 50, a resident of De Queen, died Saturday, January 25, 2014 in a Texarkana hospital.

He was born to Nolan Jerald and Kay Frances Dodds Chenoweth at De Queen, Arkansas on July 21, 1963. Gary was a Christian, and enjoyed reading the Bible. He was a rancher, and enjoyed spending time with his children, and hunting, and fishing.

He is survived by four sons: Dustin Nolan Chenoweth and Hunter Nolan Chenoweth both of De Queen, Jacob Elijah Chenoweth and Isaiah Daniel Chenoweth both of Mena, Ark.; three daughters and a son-in-law, Julia Kaylyn and Jesse Dean Cogburn of Russellville, Ark., Cheyenne Autumn Chenoweth of De Queen, and Hannah Noelle Chenoweth of Mena, his parents, Nolan Jerald and Kay Chenoweth of De Queen, two sisters, Teresa Blanchett and Terri Cox both of De Queen.

Graveside funeral Services for Mr. Gary Chenoweth will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, January 26th in the Pullman Cemetery with Bro. Steve Chenoweth officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.

Curtis Lloyd Gillihan

Curtis Lloyd Gillihan, age 71, a resident of Wilton, Arkansas died Wednesday, January 22, 2014, in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born on December 29, 1942, in Alleene, Arkansas. He was a Millwright for Domtar for 40 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wilton.

Mr. Gillihan was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Lloyd Gillihan.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Stuart Gillihan; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Brandy Gillihan of Alleene, AR; two daughters, Donna Jewell and fiancé Calvin Blackaby of Lockesburg, AR and Kathy Collvins of Ashdown, AR; his mother and step-father, Bonnie and Weldon Morrow of Foreman, AR; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Clarence and Nita Gillihan of Mena, AR and Terry Gillihan of Amarillo, TX; one sister, Gay Strickland of Ashdown, AR; three granddaughters, Nikki Jewell, Monica Jewell and Stephanie Blake; one great-granddaughter, Kendall Marie Blake and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Gillihan will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2014, in the Alleene Community Building with Trampus Black officiating. Burial will follow in the Alleene Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, January 24th at the funeral home

Robert Pettigrew

Mr. Robert Carroll Pettigrew, age 70, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Tuesday, January 21st in the De Queen Medical Center.

He was born to Jace Joseph and Alice Marie Greathouse Pettigrew in De Queen, Arkansas, on February 25, 1953, and was a retired diesel mechanic. Mr. Pettigrew enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all, he was devoted to his family and absolutely adored his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Peggy Cross Pettigrew; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert Pettigrew, Jr. and DeWayne and Holly Ann Pettigrew, all of Horatio; six grandchildren Shaw Marie Johnson, William Robert Pettigrew, Dallas Carroll Pettigrew, Michael Edward Pettigrew, Andrew DeWayne Pettigrew, and Ashley Lauren Jackson all of Horatio' six great-grandchildren, Joseph, Juwayne, Akeelah, Jacee Ann, Harlee Ann, and Wyatt as well as other family members.

Funeral Services for Mr. Robert Pettigrew will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 25th in the Old Center Church with Bro. Sam Hendricks officiating. burial will follow in the Old Center Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. Visitation will be general.

Marilyn Branson Ferguson

Marilyn Joyce Ferguson, age 58, of Garvin, OK passed from this life Monday January 20, 2014, close to her home in Garvin, Oklahoma.

She was born the daughter William “Billy” Branson and Estalee Bard Branson in De Queen, Arkansas and lived here in McCurtain County most of her life. She worked as a Federal Employee with USDA. Marilyn loved being with her children and grandchildren, and also loved traveling, cooking, and reading the Bible.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Mona Shelton.

Marilyn leaves to cherish her loving memories; her parents, William “Billy” and Estalee Branson of Gillham, Arkansas; her husband Gary Ferguson of the home; two daughters, LeeAnn Thrasher and Husband Galen of Lockesburg, Arkansas, and Stacie Jo Evans and Husband Ryan of Garvin, Oklahoma; one brother, Jim Branson and wife Amy of Stuttgart, Arkansas; two sisters; Beth Ann Ward of Gillham, Arkansas, and Jeanette Lemke and husband Todd of Midlothian, Texas; five grandchildren, Kalin Watkins, Shane Blankenship, Joe Bailey Watkins, Garrett Dixon, and Ryder Evans, and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be at Norwood-Nation Funeral Home Chapel in Idabel, Ok Thursday, January 23, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services for Mrs. Ferguson will be at 10:00 a.m. in Norwood-Nation Chapel Friday, January 24, 2014. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.

Vicky Lou Loftis

Vicky Lou Loftis, age 71, a resident of Seagoville, Texas, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014, in Dallas, Texas.

She was born on October 17, 1942 in Pocola, Oklahoma to Claude Burton and Elouise Marie Gill Loftis. She was a mother and grandmother with a fun loving spirit. She had endearing laugh. Vicky was a world traveler and had many friends.

Vicky was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by three sons, Dickey Felix Caudle, Jeffery Dale Caudle and Jamie Ray Trinkle; one daughter, Kina Von Caudle Westbrook; three sisters, Virginia Leona Loftis McCauley, Vanita Loretta Loftis Foster and Vonda Lee Loftis Johnson; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Wade Caudle, Casey Nichole Caudle and Dickey Wyatt Caudle; two nephews, Michael Richard McCauley, Bradley Loftis Foster and one niece, Leah Foster Warren.

Graveside Funeral Services for Vicky will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2014, in the Horatio Cemetery with John Gutierres officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

Clarene Sherman Helms

Mrs. Clarene Sherman Helms, age 93, a resident of Provo, Arkansas died Sunday, January 19, 2014, at her home.

She was born to Paul and Dora Faulkner Sherman on January 18, 1921 in Provo.

Mrs. Helms was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Marvin William Helms; one son, Marvin Helms, Jr.; a daughter, Sheryl Helms Eudy; a grandson, Shane Eudy; her parents, 3 brothers and 6 sisters.

She is survived by 8 children, Aubrey "Sonny" Helms of Nashville, AR, Betty Teat of Irving, TX, Linda Harper of Sheridan, AR, Billy Jack and Vera Helms of Ashdown, AR, Mickey Helms of Provo, AR, Derrel and Jackie Helms of Lockesburg, AR, Terry and Debbie Helms of Provo, AR and Kem and Anita Helms of Provo, AR; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Will D. Sherman of Euless, TX and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Helms will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 22, 2014, in the Provo Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Bro. Jerrel Helms officiating. Burial will follow in the McHorse Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, Jan 21st at the Provo Community Building.

Linda Gail McCoy

Linda Gail McCoy, 52 of Eagletown, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday January 18, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on March 18, 1961 in Idabel, Oklahoma to J.T. Frachiseur and Nora Mae Liles Tadlock. Linda was a former USDA Inspector. She loved crafting and spending time with her grandchildren. She and her husband, James McCoy were married on March 24, 2000 in Linden, TX. They made their home in Eagletown, Ok.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents J.T. Frachiseur and Nora Mae Liles Tadlock.

Linda is survived by and leaves to cherish her memory her Husband, James of the home; Daughters, Cindy Evans of Texarkana, AR., Gena Flowers of Gillham, AR. and Johnna Hadley and husband Kelly of Eagletown, OK. ; Grand Children Jasmine and Ivy Wigley and one on the way; Sisters Janice Bagley and husband Terry of Grannis, AR., and Rhonda Crawford of Grannis, AR. , Katrina Sanders of Cabot, AR., Sandy Francis of Benton, AR., Debbie Liles of California.; Brothers Rocky Liles of Linden, TX., Richard Dixon of Grannis, AR., Russell Dixon of Broken Bow, OK.; Stepmother June Frachiseur, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 21,2014 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bunch – Singleton Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Ok. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Eagletown Cemetery in Eagletown, OR. With Bro. Homer Frachiseur officiating. Services are under the direction of Bunch –Singleton Funeral Home.
