Leon Woodard, Sr.
Mr. William Leon Woodard, Sr., age 64, a resident of Gilliam, Arkansas, died Saturday, January 18th in Gillham, Arkansas.
He was born to Melvin Dean and Christine Sudie Glossup Woodard in Cortez, Colorado, on June 25, 1949. He was retired from Lane Poultry, and was a member over 25 years at the Sevier County Development Center, De Queen. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Gilliam and enjoyed singing and playing the guitar, painting, and playing dominoes.
He was preceded in death by his father, and a sister, Judy Ann Cheatham.
He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Doris M. Dowty Woodard of Gillham, two sons, William Woodard and Charles Woodard both of Gillham, his mother, Christine Oglesby of De Queen, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Diane Oglesby, and Gary and Marsha Oglesby all of De Queen, a sister, Linda Hodges of Pine Grove, Louisiana, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Leon Woodard will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 22nd in the Pleasant Grove Church of the Nazarene, Cove, Arkansas, with Rev. E. A. Edwards and Rev. Ron Newberry officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Cove, Arkansas, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 21st from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M.
Delma Marie Willmon
Mrs. Delma Marie Willmon, age 84, a resident of Gillham, Arkansas, died Saturday, January 18, 2014, at her home.
She was born April 12, 1929, in De Queen. She was a former employee of the Sr. Citizens Center in De Queen, a member of the De Queen Church of Christ and enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing and being with her family.
Mrs. Willmon was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Munn and Sally Randi (Stell) Jackson; her husbands, Hershel Woodrow Willmon and Willie Duggan; two brothers, Buddy Munn and J.D. Munn and two sisters, Ruby Wilder and Minnie May Killen.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie and Terri Willmon ; two daughters and one son-in-law, Linda Gail Daniel and Freda and Don Arndt, all of Gillham; one sister, Reba Leffman of San Angelo, Texas; one brother, Glenn Munn; two grandchildren, Michelle Mourney and Steve Daniel; three great-grandchildren, Madison Daniel, Alexis Daniel and Hudson Mourney and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Willmon will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2014, in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Van Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow in the Cossatot Cemetery.
Charlotte Lynn Beckwith Albiter
Charlotte Lynn Beckwith Albiter, age 47, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Saturday, January 18, 2014 at her home.
She was born July 6, 1966 in De Queen, Arkansas. She was a former employee of Pilgrim’s Pride and a member of the Pentecostal Church.
Mrs. Albiter was preceded in death by her father, Louis Homer Beckwith; one sister, Sherry Shaw; and one grandson, Michael Medina.
She is survived by her mother, Lorene Mullinax; one sister, Annette Sanchez; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Keshia Medina and Derrick and Maria Medina, all of De Queen; three grandchildren, Addison, Emily, and Abigail Medina; two nieces, Brittany Sanchez and Chelsea Sanchez; two nephews, JD Sanchez and JJ Sanchez; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services for Mrs. Albiter will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2014 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen, Arkansas with Charles Ligon officiating. Burial will follow in the Avon Cemetery in De Queen.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the funeral home.
Sammy Brewer
(October 25, 1953 - June 16, 2013)
Sammy Brewer, 59, of Broken Bow, passed away June 16, 2013 in Pauls Valley. He was born October 25, 1953 in De Queen, Arkansas, the son of Sam and Jean Kight Brewer. Sammy had lived in McCurtain County all of his life and attended the Assembly of God Church. He was a member of Archers for Christ and enjoyed traditional archery, riding motorcycles, hunting and visiting with his family and friends. He and Vicky Free were united in marriage on May 27, 2000 in Kinston, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents. Sammy leaves to cherish his memory his wife Vicky of the home; sons, Shea Brewer and wife Cindy of Omak, WA and Kade Brewer of the home; daughter, Amanda Beaver and husband Mike also of Omak, WA; stepson, Jamey Berry and wife Ashley of Dothan, AL; stepdaughter, Niki Short and husband Lee of Opp, AL; sisters, Susan O'Donnell and husband Jimmy and Cindy Phillips and husband Bud both of Broken Bow; nieces and nephews, Deston O'Donnell, Jimmy, Josh and Kimberly O'Donnell and Tina Free; and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 2pm at Crown Hill Cemetery with Pastor Terry Bradley officiating.
Susie (Sue) Rogers
Susie (Sue) Rogers, age 77, a resident of Texarkana, Arkansas, and former resident of Grannis, Arkansas, died Saturday, January 18, 2014, in Texarkana.
She was born to Roy and Mella Price Rogers at Grannis, Arkansas on June 4, 1936. She was a retired employee of Tyson Foods, and enjoyed cooking crocheting, gardening, crafts, but her passion was camping at Cossatot Reefs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Dave Rogers, a sister and brother-in-law, Janie and Harvey Robb, and a brother-in-law, Carl Dean Kidwell.
She is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Bonnie Kidwell of Rogers, Arkansas, and Ruby and Bobby Smedley of Texarkana, Texas, four nephews, Jimmy Rogers, James Robb, Jerry Robb, and Scott Smedley, five nieces, Jody Higgins, Cherri Smedley Wheeler, Rhonda Wilbourn, Kimberly Smedley, and Carla Amsden, and a number of other relatives.
No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are entrusted to Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Cathy Belcher Cole
Cathy Belcher Cole, age 57, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died Friday, January 17, 2014 at her home.
Mrs. Cole was born December 29, 1956, in De Queen, Arkansas. she was retired from Willis Knighten Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lockesburg and served on the board of the Belleville Cemetery Association.
Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her father, Harold Belcher of Lockesburg.
She is survived by her husband, Webster Cole of Texarkana' her mother, Lucille Belcher of Lockesburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Wayne Williamson of De Queen; one nephew, Brian Williamson and wife, Kimmie of Bryant, Arkansas; one niece, Amber Wagner and husband, Steven of De Queen; two great-nephews, Avery and Sutton Williamson of Bryant and one great-niece, Mabry Wagner of De Queen.
A memorial service for Mrs. Cole will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 19, 2014 in the Belleville Methodist Church with Rev. jack Gilliland and Steve Cole officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Mr. Jesse Raymond Boler
Mr. Jesse Raymond Boler, age 74, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, died Wednesday, January 15th in the Christus St. Michael Health System, Texarkana, Texas.
He was born to Luther and Carrie Goodrum Boler at Nashville, Arkansas, on August 20, 1939. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the U. S. Air Force, retiring in 1979. After his retirement from the military, he worked for Day & Zimmerman at Hooks, Texas, the Sevier County Farmers Co-op, and Weyerhaueser. Mr. Boler was a member of the First Baptist Church and enjoyed deer hunting, and vegetable gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Dale Boler, Lewis Boler, Leon “Punk” Boler, Lonard “Buck” Boler, Charles Boler, and Louise “Pat” Isley, and a son-in-law, Paul McCullough.
Jesse is survived by his wife of almost 48 years, Linda Birge Boler of De Queen, two daughters and a son-in-law, Regina McCullough of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Renee and Clint Cook of De Queen, three grandsons, Shelby Cook of De Queen, Zachary McCullough and Tyler McCullough both of Fairbanks, Alaska, a granddaughter, Sydney Cook of De Queen, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services with military rites will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 18th in the Valley Cemetery, Gillham with Micah Martin officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Friday, January 17th from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
