Mr. Doyle Davis

Mr. Doyle Davis, age 67, a resident of De Queen, died Tuesday, December 10th in the Dierks Health and Rehab, Dierks.

He was born on November 1946.

Survivors include a number of friends.

Memorial Services for Mr. Doyle Davis will be held at 4:30 p.m., Friday, December 13th in the Dierks Cemetery. Private burial was under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.

Anna Jane Wood Jackson

Mrs. Anna Jane Wood Jackson, age 90, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died Tuesday, December 10, 2013, in Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.

She was born March 7, 1923 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Slippery Rock College in Pennsylvania with a teaching degree, and was retired from Lockesburg Schools. Mrs. Jackson was a member of the hospital auxiliary and the First United Methodist Church in Lockesburg.

Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her parents, Valentine and Marie Montez Schaefnocker Wood and her husband, Floyd “Lanky” Jackson.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Stacy and Tricia Jackson of Evans, Georgia, Kent and Glenna Jackson of Kilgore, Texas and Bruce and Sandra Jackson of Lockesburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Julia and John McLelland of Prescott, Arkansas and Connee and Randy Luttrell of Lake Village, Arkansas; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Jackson will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 14, 2013 in the First United Methodist Church in Lockesburg with Rev. Terry Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in the Belleville Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, December 13th at the Lockesburg First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

Memorials may be made to the Lockesburg First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 68, Lockesburg, AR 71846.

Mabel Leoda Edwards Crawford

Mrs. Mabel Leoda Edwards Crawford, age 82, a resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, died Tuesday, December 10, 2013, in the De Queen Regional Medical Center in De Queen, Arkansas.

She was born May 10, 1931 in Alleene, Arkansas. She loved working in her yard, she loved sports and she was a member of the Lockesburg First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Crawford was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Grace Gillihan Edwards; husband, Jack Crawford; one son, Billy Crawford; one brother, DeWayne Edwards and one sister, Dorothy Moore.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ray Hargrove of Lockesburg; three grandsons, Shane and (Angie) Hargrove of Sulfur Springs, Texas, Eric and (Carla) Crawford and Mark and (Krystal) Crawford all of Lockesburg; one daughter-in-law, Lois Crawford of Lockesburg; three great-grandchildren, Garrett and Sadie Hargrove and Kevin Crawford and five step great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Crawford will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 12, 2013 in the Coulter Memorial Gardens in Lockesburg under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 11th at the funeral home.

Esteban Martinez

Esteban Martinez, age 64, a resident of De Queen, died Monday, December 9, 2013, in Little Rock, Arkansas.

He was born September 4, 1949 in San Felipe, Mexico. He was a former employee of Husqvarna, a member of the Praise Temple Church in De Queen and loved spending time with his family.

Mr. Martinez was preceded in death by his parents, Santos Martinez Diaz and Tomasa Solano.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Luz; six sons, Joel Martinez and wife, Manuela, Jose Manuel Martinez and wife, Leticia, Estevan Martinez and wife, Maria, Jose Isel Martinez and wife Sandy Bel, Jose Abelardo Martinez and Alex Alberto Martinez all of De Queen; two daughters, Maria Del Santos and husband, Hector of Dallas, Texas and Maria Del Carmen and husband, Santiago of De Queen and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mr. Martinez will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Praise Temple Church with Lupe Sotelo officiating. Burial will be in the San Felipe Cemetery in San Felipe, Mexico.

Mrs. Nora Jean Bowers Rowe

Mrs. Nora Jean Bowers Rowe, age 52, a resident of De Queen, died Monday,December 09, 2013, in the De Queen Medical Center, De Queen.

She was born to Virgil and Willie Belle Nelson Bowers in De Queen, Arkansas, on April 26, 1961. She was a CNA with Brookewood Nursing and Rehab, and was a member of the New Zion Baptist Church of De Queen. She enjoyed her church, and spending time with family, especially, her granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her father, and her siblings, O’Neal Bowers, Helen Marie Bowers, and Virgie Bowers.

She is survived by three daughters, Tamara Bowers of Magnolia, Arkansas, Jalisa Bowers of Arkadelphia, Ark., and Evelyn Bowers of De Queen, her mother, Willie B. Bowers of De Queen, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Freddie Bowers of De Queen, and Tim and Yvette Bowers of Colorado Springs, Colorado, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Nada Bowers of De Queen, and Joyce and Rev. Jesse Miller of De Queen, a granddaughter, Ta’Niyah Weatherspoon of Magnolia, Ark., and a number of nieces and nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Nora Rowe will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 14th in New Zion Baptist Church, De Queen with Rev. Carl Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, December 13th.

Mrs. Kathleen Carole Chastain Southworth

Mrs. Kathleen Carole Chastain Southworth, age 73, a resident of De Queen, died Sunday, December 8th in Brookewood Nursing & Rehab.

She was born to Hartley Eugene and Pauline Nelson Chastain on December 4, 1940, in Sacramento, California. She was retired from the U S Corps of Engineers, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Chapel Hill Baptist Church, and enjoyed reading, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Paula Gene Smith, Diane Ellenson, and Hartley Chastain, Jr.

Carole is survived by her husband of over 55 years, Gaines Southworth of De Queen, two sons and daughters-in-law, Kurt Alan and Debra Southworth of Bentonville, Ark.; and Eric Brian and Sara Southworth of Indianapolis, Indiana, one daughter and son-in-law, Andee and Don Rush of De Queen, five grandchildren, Christopher Southworth, Shawn William Southworth, Maximillian Southworth-Beckwith, Miles Beckwith, and Ivan James Southworth, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Carole Southworth will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 13, 2013 in the Chapel Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Shane Haarmeyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Southworth Family Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Thursday, December 12th from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.

Michael Allmond “Mike” Beltrani, Sr

Michael Allmond “Mike” Beltrani, Sr., age 68, a resident of the Little River Club, died Friday, December 6, 2013 in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born December 28, 1944 in De Queen. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas, and owner of Hillcrest Cleaners. He served on the De Queen City Council for 10 years, was a board member of the De Queen Country Club and the Little River Club, and was a member of the First Christian Church in De Queen. Mike was an avid golfer and fisherman.

Mr. Beltrani was preceded in death by his parents, Michael Angelo and Ester Jo Allmond Beltrani; a son, Michael “Mikie” Beltrani, Jr., and a daughter, Teresa Gayle Beltrani.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Brenda Dossey Beltrani; a granddaughter, Brittany Grace Beltrani of Conway, Arkansas; a brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Lynda Beltrani of De Queen; an uncle and aunt, Jim and Mary Jo Allmond of Oceanside, California; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Darla Dossey, Jack and Judy Dossey, Joey Davis and Laynette Reynolds, his mother-in-law, Vesta Dossey, a number of nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Memorial services for Mr. Beltrani will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 9, 2013 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Doug Dorris, Chad Gallagher and Jamie Cowan officiating.

Mrs. Wanda Lou McDonald Bagwell

Mrs. Wanda Lou McDonald Bagwell, age 73, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Tuesday, December 3, 2013. She was born on September 19, 1940, in Foreman, Arkansas.

Wanda was a Baptist, and a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, yard work, and her grandchildren.

She preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Donnie McDonald, Joe McDonald, James Henry McDonald, and Joyce Brewer, a grandchild, Matthew Osborne, and in 1998, her husband, James H. Bagwell.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Scott and Melissa Bagwell of Burleson, Texas, Randy Kyle Bagwell of Arlington, Texas, three grandchildren, Lauren Bagwell of Burleson, Texas, James Kyle Bagwell of Fort Worth, Texas, and Megan Bagwell of Arlington, Texas, a brother and sister-in-law, Junior and Sue McDonald of Lockesburg, Arkansas, three sisters and a brothers-in-law, Billie and Charles Ramasco of Horatio, Sue and Henry Bennett of Houma, La., and Verda and Dan Bohannon of Horatio, Arkansas, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Wanda Bagwell will be held at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, December 7th in the Old Center Church with burial in the Old Center Cemetery, Horatio, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
