Edna Lois Lovell

Edna Lois Greathouse Lovell, age 75, resident of Hot Springs, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004 in Hot Springs.

She was born March 2, 1929 at Alekchia, Okla. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Hettie Davis Greathouse; three brothers, Mark Greathouse, Virgil Greathouse and Otis Greathouse; and one sister, Marie Pettigrew.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence Lovell of Hot Springs; one son, John Lovell of Hot Springs; two daughters, Julia Brown and Cheryl Meggers, both of Hot Springs; five sisters, Opal Barbour of Hot Springs, Maxine Stahl of Pine Bluff, Dorothy Springs of Dothan, Ala., Evelyn Gowen of Fresno, Calif., and Onita Causey of De Queen; one brother, Raymond Greathouse of Oklahoma City, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7 in Gross Funeral Home of Hot Springs.

Don Buenos Sikes

Don Buenos Sikes, age 62, resident of Sherwood, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004 in Baptist Medical Center in North Little Rock.

He was born Wednesday, May 27, 1942 in Alleene to the late Buenos and Robbie Howard Sikes; was the former owner of a Ben Franklin variety store and has served as manager of several convenience stores in the Little Rock area; was a former member of De Queen Lions Club; a member of Lakewood First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock; and served in the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Allums Sikes; one son, Kevin Sikes of Little Rock; one daughter, Melanie Brindley of Carmel, Ind.; one sister, Judy Stewman of De Queen; six grandchildren; and one niece.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6 in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Wilson officiating. Burial followed in Redmen cemetery.

Kelvin Williamson

Kelvin Henry Williamson, age 50, resident of De Queen, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004 at his home.

He was born Oct. 22, 1953 at De Queen to Everett Preston and Edith Pickett Williamson; was a caregiver; and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by one brother, Delmon Williamson of De Queen; two sisters, Loraine Adcock of De Queen and Elaine Dugan of Horatio; and a number of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Graveside services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2 in Clear Creek cemetery with Rev. O.D. Hobbs officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.

Norma Harris

Norma Harris, age 70, resident of McCamey, Tex., died Friday, Oct. 1, 2004 in Midland Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4 in First Baptist Church in McCamey with Thomas Lee Harris and Rev. Ted Creech officiating. Burial followed in Resthaven cemetery under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.

She was born April 6, 1934 in Gillham; was a homemaker; and a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Harris.

She is survived by her husband, Erbie H. Harris of McCamey; three sons, John Harris of Bakersfield, Calif., Don Harris of Sonora, Tex., and Thomas Lee Harris of Denton, Tex.; four daughters, Nancy Sharpe of Grapevine, Tex., Sarah O’Donnell of Van Horn, Tex., Darcey Lynch of McCamey, Tex., and Joy Brooks of Coppell, Tex.; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Ned Stephens "Dick" Click

Mr. Ned Stephens "Dick" Click, Sr. of Winthrop, AR, died Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at his residence. Mr. Click was born in Winthrop on August 23, 1906 to Francis Rebecca and Charlie Johnson Click and had been a lifetime resident of Winthrop.

He was a member of the first graduating class of Winthrop and a graduate of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Mr. Click was a Mason, a past member of the Little River County Democratic Committee, the Little River Equalization Board, the Rural Development Authority, and a naval veteran of World War II, Winthrop City Councilman, served on the Winthrop School Board, and taught Veterans after World War II.

He was a prominent businessman, owner and operator of the N.S. Click Hardware and timber broker. He was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Loma Lewis Click.

Mr. Click is survived by six children and their spouses: Rod and Wanda Click of Winthrop, Drs. Mary Ellen and B.J. Jenkins of Pine Bluff, Steve and Rosie Click of Winthrop, Sharon and Darrel Oglesby of Foreman, Donna and Jimmy Murry of Winthrop, and Charlie Jean and Anita Click of Winthrop. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, twenty six great-grandchildren, and numerous friends.

Funeral Services for Mr. Click were held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 7, 2004 in the Winthrop Gym with Rev. Audie Dawson officiating. Burial followed in the Campground cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.

The family received friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 6, at the funeral home.

Those wishing to memorialize Mr. Click may make contributions to the Winthrop Library.

Pallbearers were his grandchildren.

Dennis Glen Wilcher

Dennis Glen Wilcher, age 67, resident of Wickes, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004 in Texarkana, Tex.

He was born July 9, 1936 in Baker Springs to the late John Truly and Ferrie Myers Wilcher; was a truck foreman for Tyson for 25 years; and a cattle and chicken farmer. He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, James Wilcher.

He is survived by his wife, Cledith Wilcher of Wickes; two sons, Jimmy Wilcher and Raymond Wilcher, both of Wickes; a daughter, Denise Piercy of Hatton; a brother, Robert Lee Wilcher of De Queen; two sisters, Lavada Price of Wickes and Lavern Waller of Grannis; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23 in Wickes Church of the Nazarene with Bro. Chris Burke and Bro. Mike Wilson officiating. Interment followed in Daniel cemetery under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.

Ollie Mae McClure

Mrs. Ollie Mae Runnels McClure, age 68, resident of Wilton, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004 in Little River Memorial Hospital at Ashdown.

She was born July 2, 1935 in Sevier County to John “Bud” and Mildred Runnels; was a homemaker; and a Baptist. She was predeceased by a brother, Norman Runnels; and a grandson, Dewey Adam Tosh.

She is survived by her husband, Jesse J. McClure of Wilton; a son, Allen Tosh of Hot Springs; four daughters, Carol Treece of Wilton, Brenda Ward of Murfreesboro, Sherril Seaton of Hot Springs, and Kathy Stubbs of Ardmore, Okla.; a brother, John Delbert Runnels; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20 in McHorse cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.

The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19 at the funeral home.

Ernest "Skinny" Nix

Mr. Ernest Lee "Skinny" Nix, age 95, a resident of Horatio, Arkansas, died Saturday, February 14, 2004 in the Brookewood Nursing Center, De Queen.

He was born on December 31, 1908 in Horatio to Elbert and Emma Sifford Nix. He was a retired automobile salesman, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Horatio.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Nix of Horatio; a son, Mike Nix of Garland, Texas; two grandchildren, Michele Preston of Coppell, Texas, and Charla Morris of Lewisville, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Bailey Preston and Macie Preston; and two nieces, Joe Nell Johnson and Ann Holcombe.

Funeral services for Mr. Nix were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2004 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Coy Arnold officiating. Burial followed in the Horatio cemetery.

Lyndell Green

Lyndell “Scott” Green, age 41, resident of Arlington, Tex., and formerly of Lockesburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004 in a Lancaster medical center.

He was born Feb. 17, 1963 in Lubbock, Tex.; was raised in Lockesburg; and was employed as a golf course superintendent for the City of Arlington from 1993 to 1998.

He is survived by his wife, Andrea Green; three daughters, Megan, Samantha and Hannah; his mother, Hazel Green of Lubbock, Tex.; and a sister, Nancy Presant-McDonald of Dublin, Calif.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21 in First United Methodist Church of Mansfield, 601 Pleasant Ridge.
