David Calvin Young

David Calvin Young died at his home on November 4, 2007. He was a long-time Howard County resident. He was born May 15, 1910, in New Hope, AR, the son of the late R.A. and Hattie Lee Jeffers Young.
David worked for 20 years at the Nashville Basket Factory and was a long-time employee of Tyson’s Food.
David & Minnie Belle’s house was a popular Halloween stop for children for over 30 years and their seasonal yard art was enjoyed by the entire community.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Minnie Belle (which left a hole in his heart that was never healed); and son-in-law, Bobby Welch.
He is survived by son, Charles David Young and daughter-in-law, DarlynnYoung; four daughters, Ruth Ann Pierce and son-in-law, Graham Pierce, Mary Johnson and son-in-law, Brent Johnson, Joyce Sue Carrell and son-in-law, Tom Carrell and daughter, Kay Welch; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Gertie Wakefield and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, Latimer Funeral Home Chapel, with Ray Nation officiating, burial in Restland Memorial Park, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, November 5, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank Serenity Hospice of Texarkana for their love and attention the past few months.

Ronald David York, age 60, of McCaskill, Arkansas, died Sunday November 4, 2007. He was born October 9, 1947 in McCaskill, the son of the late Bill Clarence York and Anna Bell Meeks York. Mr. York was a retired U.S. Postal Carrier, and a member of the McCaskill Church of Christ. He was a Vietnam Army veteran where he received a Purple Heart. Survivors include his wife Glenda York of McCaskill; mother Anna Bell York of McCaskill; son Michael David York of Fort Worth, TX; 2 sisters Dotty York of Orange, CT and Virginia Huckabee of McCaskill. Services are 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at McCaskill Church of Christ with burial in Harris cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M. Monday at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville.
Ron Windole Elmore, Jr.

Ron Windole Elmore, Jr., age 22, of Conway, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in Tallahassee, Florida. He was born on January 19, 1986 in Grapevine, Texas, the son of Ron Windole and Karen Ruth (Epton) Elmore. Ron was a head waiter at the Marketplace Grill in Conway and member of the McCaskill Church of Christ. Ron graduated from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway on May 3, 2008 with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Charles Epton and paternal grandparents, Thomas A. and Eloise Elmore.
Survivors include: his parents, Ron and Karen Elmore of McCaskill; one brother, Todd Thomas Elmore of Hope, Arkansas; maternal grandmother, Shirley Anthony of Murfreesboro; one very special fiancée, Jenna Jenkins of Conway; and several Aunts and Uncles. Numerous other relatives and friends mourn his passing.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 27, at McCaskill Church of Christ, with John Ross and Wallace Alexander officiating, burial in Harris cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.

Ethel Lorie Copeland Spears

Ethel Lorie Copeland Spears, 76, of Highland, AR, died May 20, 2008 at a Texarkana hospital. She was born March 25, 1932, in Nashville, AR., the daughter of the late Ben and Myrtle Myers Copeland.
She was a Baptist. She lived 45 years in Warren, IN before returning back to Highland, AR.
Mrs. Spears was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cloid N. Spears, three brothers, Archie Copeland, Leo Copeland, and Leon Copeland; one sister, Lucille Copeland.
She is survived by two sons, Tannie L. Spears of Highland, AR, Robin Spears and wife, Debbie of Etna Green, IN; one daughter, Terriffa Huffman of Huntington, IN; four sisters and brothers-in-laws, Ila Chambers and husband, Russell, of Barling, AR, Betty Johnson and husband, Jack, of Ben Lomond, AR, Norma Schroeder and husband, Eddie, of Kenner, LA and Elizabeth Teague of Bossier City, LA; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday, May 23, from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M.
Dorothy D. White Robertson

Dorothy D. White Robertson, 88, of Hot Springs, AR, died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at a Hot Springs hospital. She was born May 10, 1919, at Nathan, AR, the daughter of the late
Madison L. and Frankie (Porter) Floyd.
She was a self-employed beautician and she was a member of the Beauticians Union.
She was a member of the Airport Road Church of Christ in Hot Springs.
Mrs. Robertson was preceded in death by one son, Glynn White and one brother, Jack Floyd.
She is survived by her husband, James J. Robertson of Hot Springs, AR; two sisters, Dorene Thrasher of Paris, TX and Florence Turley of Nashville, AR; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great great grandson; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 7, at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel, burial in Biggs Chapel cemetery, at Nathan, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.

Sue Hoover

Irma Sue Hoover, 76, of Murfreesboro, died Saturday, May 3, at St. Josephs Hospital in Hot Springs. She was born on November 26, 1931 in Murfreesboro, the daughter of the late Richard M. and Nancy J. (Gresham) Chaney. She was a housewife and member of the First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hoover was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hoover; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Survivors include: three daughters, Susan Gills and Steve Nolen; Jan and Roy Burk; and Tina and Kelly Hinds all of Murfreesboro; one brother, Leon Chaney of Murfreesboro; one sister, Cynthia Ruth Chaney of Sarasota, Florida; and 6 grandchildren, Tye Gills, Jana Gills, Rylee Burk, Jessi McKinnon, Katelin Hinds, and Blake Hinds. A host of other relatives and friends mourn her passing.
Services will be on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in the Latimer Funeral Home Chapel in Murfreesboro with Keith Dodson officiating. Burial will follow at Roy cemetery under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home of Murfreesboro.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 4 from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Murfreesboro Senior Adult Center of the Roy cemetery Fund.
Robbie Hugh Beene

Robbie Hugh Beene, 90, of Nashville, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at Howard Memorial Hospital. He was born November 14, 1917, at Lockesburg, AR the son of the late Charles Edwin and Ida Belle Waters Beene.
He was a member of Sunset Church of Christ and NARFE. A 1935 graduate of Nashville High School, he was a telegraph operator for Western Union. During WWII he worked at an Ordinance Plant in Minden, LA. During the construction of Narrows Dam he was the Electrical foreman and later became the electrician at Narrows Power Plant for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers which was his occupation until he retired in 1979. He was an active servant to many in the community.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Rufus E. Beene.
Mr. Beene is survived by his wife, Thressa Beene of Nashville, AR; two sons, Billy Beene and wife, Peggy, of Huntsville, AL, and Eddie Beene and wife, Vickie, of Nashville, AR; two daughters, Betty Johnson of Nashville, AR and Bobby Ponder of Weatherford, TX; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many friends and relatives.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 3, at Latimer Funeral Home Chapel, with David Williams and Robert Peek officiating, burial in Nashville cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville.
Memorials may be made to Sunset Church of Christ or Howard Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Linda L. Gilmer, 65, of Delight, died Sunday, April 6, 2008, in a Murfreesboro nursing home. She was born December 14, 1942, at Murfreesboro, AR, the daughter of the late Foy and Ervie Garner Brown.
She was a member of the Billstown Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Glen Gilmer.
Mrs. Gilmer is survived by one son, Chris Gilmer and wife, Carissa, of Billstown, AR; one daughter, Cindy Apollos and husband, Don, of Delight, AR; one sister, Betty Lamb of Delight, AR; one granddaughter, Kim Apollos; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday. April 9, at Delight Church of Christ, with Wallace Alexander and Randy Hughes officiating, burial in Delight cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro.
