Lue Ola O’Rear
Lue Ola O’Rear, age 102, resident of De Queen, and formerly of Mena, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004 in De Queen.
She was born March 16, 1902 in Junction, Tex., to the late John Calhoun and Lucy West Greenwood; and attended Rose Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Frank O’Rear; and a son, Jesse Frank O’Rear Jr.
She is survived by a son, J.C. O’Rear of De Queen; three daughters, Ruby Wilson of Arcata, Calif., Eunice Gordemiller of Hakett, and Bernice McGlathery of McKinleyville, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 28 in Pinecrest Memorial Park with Bro. Tim Bowlin officiating, under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
E.H. Bradshaw
E.H. Bradshaw, age 78, resident of Eagletown, Okla., died Saturday, June 5, 2004 in Christus Mt. Michael Health System in Texarkana.
He was born April 24, 1926 in New Boston, Tex., to William Archie and Eunice L. Jenkins Bradshaw; was a retired millwright and cattle farmer; and a member of the Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Opal “Polly” Bradshaw of Eagletown, Okla.; one son, Donivan Bradshaw of De Queen; one daughter, Dr. Deborah Lavonne Azizinamini of Norman, Okla.; four brothers, W.D. Bradhsaw of De Queen, Clarence Bradshaw of Gladewater, Tex., Archie Bradshaw of Dallas, Tex., and Larry Bradshaw of De Queen; four sisters, Clara Shaw of Horatio, Bonnie McGee of Pottsboro, Tex., Yvonne Lenhard of Orange, Tex., and Lorene Adams of Paris, Tex.; five grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2004 in West Otis cemetery with Cy Davis, minister officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home in De Queen.
Richard Harold Lichlyter
Richard Harold “Dick” Lichlyter, age 72, resident of Wickes, died Friday, June 11, 2004 in Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana.
He was born April 13, 1932 in Eleria, Ohio; was retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he was supervisor of the Bulk Mail Center Data Processing in Seattle, Wash.; was retired from the U.S. Air Force having served in Korea; attended the Wickes Nazarene Church; a member of the Wickes Masonic Lodge; and Alderman for the Town of Wickes. He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob “Jake” Thomas Lichlyter; and his stepmother, Lillian Miller Lichlyter.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Fitz Lichlyter; his mother, Ethelyn Farmer McCauley of Stayton, Ore.; one son, Vince Lichlyter of Farmington; two daughters, Sandra Kocker of North Canton, Ohio, and Rene Lichlyter of Hilton Head, SC.; his brothers and sisters, Joseph Lichlyter of Lyon, Ore., Serena Rogers of Benton, Janelle Hopson of Mill City, Ore., Lucian Lichlyter of Ohio, Thomas Lichlyter, David Lichlyter and Tammy Jo Lichlyter, all of Texarkana, Tex.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 14 in Wickes Nazarene Church with Tony Usery and Byron Sullivan officiating. Burial followed in Grannis cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Katherine Elizabeth Smith
Katherine Elizabeth Smith, age 71, a resident of Horatio, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004 in the Brookewood Nursing Center.
She was born Sunday, September 25, 1932 in De Queen. She was a former employee of Sevier County and Plaza 66 and a member of the Horatio First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Smith, Jr. on March 15, 1991; and her parents, Spencer and Johnnie Coshe Larimore.
She is survived by one son, Henry Stephen Smith, III and wife, Pollyanna, of Horatio; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Barbara Potts, Marceline and Gerald Robinson and Olivia and Larry Romine, all of De Queen; four grandsons: Jeffery Smith and wife, Bonnie, of Morrilton, Joshua, Jonathan and Jacob Smith, all of Horatio; one great-granddaughter, Lakeyn Smith of Morrilton, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Smith were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 28, 2004 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Coy Arnold officiating. Burial followed in the Horatio cemetery.
The family received friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 27, at the funeral home.
Patricia May Brezler
Mrs. Patricia May Crampton Brezler, age 57, resident of De Queen, died Monday, June 14, 2004 in Brookewood Nursing Center.
She was born Feb. 6, 1947 at Williamsport, Md., to Raymond Henry and Helen Stallmeyer Crampton; was a CAN with Brookewood Nursing Center; and a member of the Lutheran Church.
She is survived by two sons, John Buffington and Billy Buffington, both of Hagerstown, Md.; two daughters, Teresa Mae Loving of Idabel, Okla., and Lorie Ann Taylor of Broken Bow, Okla.; three brothers, Merle Crampton of Baltimore, Md., Wilbur Crampton of Hagers-town, Md., Raymond Crampton of De Queen; three sisters, Reba Crampton, Helen Lappy and Brenda Miller, all of Hagers-town, Md.; and six grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, June 14 at Chandler Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.
Mrs. Mona Shelton
Mona Lee Branson Shelton was born in Durango, Colorado, on September 25, 1957, and was called home on June 14, 2004, touching many lives in between.
Mona was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gillham, Arkansas, and the Gillham School Alumni. She and her husband, Eugene, were co-owners of the Cornerstone Monuments of De Queen. She enjoyed volleyball and interior decoratio, but most of all, Mona loved her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Eugene Shelton, two beloved sons, Christopher Lee Shelton and Cameron Bradley Shelton of Gillham, Ark.; her parents, W. J. and Estalee Branson; Mother-in-law, Marcelle Shelton; siblings, Gary and Marilyn Branson Ferguson; Beth Ann Branson Ward, Todd and Jeanette Branson Lemke; Jim and Amy Branson; Ernestine Shelton Wright; Larry adn Karla Shelton; Rick and Tammy Shelton Riggs, Teresa Shelton Lancaster; E. C. Shelton, Jr.; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Alisha Leanne and Jenny Lynn Shelton; father-in-law, Ernest “Doc” Shelton; and brother-in-law, Darrell Chambers.
Honoring Mona’s wishes, a Wake was held at the Cossatot Reefs, at Gillham Lake, Saturday, June 19, 2004 at 5:00 p.m. All are welcome to share memories and celebrate a life well lived of this one of a kind person. Casual dress please.

Alta Iola Wesson
Mrs. Alta Iola Bell Wesson, age 93, resident of De Queen, died Thursday, June 3, 2004 in Brookewood Nursing Center.
She was born March 21, 1911 in Lockesburg; was a homemaker; and a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.D. Wesson on Feb. 4, 2004; her parents, Avd and Lilly Whitmore Bell; and six brothers.
She is survived by five sons, Melvin Wesson of Los Angeles, Calif., Charlie Wesson of De Queen, James Wesson of Chandler, Ariz., L.D. Wesson of Tucson, Ariz., and Phillip Wesson of Centercach, NY; two daughters, Leola Stephens of Los Angeles, Calif., and Joyce Gossett of Carson, Calif.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 9 in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. E.A. Edwards officiating. Burial followed in Sand Hill cemetery.
Carrell Luther Russell

U.S. Veteran - Mr. Carrell Luther Russell, age 76, a resident of Cerro Gordo, Arkansas, died Saturday, August 11, 2012 at his home.
He was born to Ivery and Hazel Burney Russell at Cerro Gordo, Arkansas on November 12, 1935. He was retired from Mrs. Bairds Bakery in Dallas, Texas, and was a cattleman. He served in the military with the Arkansas National Guard, and was a member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed cattle, woodworking, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lazenby Russell of Cerro Gordo, Ark. two sons, Marty Russell of Cerro Gordo, Okla., and Justin Russell of Melissa, Texas, a step-son, Mark Cleghorn of Cerro Gordo, Ark., two daughters, Frita Kay Blankenship of Garland, Texas, and Krissy Prince of Anna, Texas, two step-daughters, Deedy Tody and Stacy Cleghorn both of Cerro Gordo, Ark.; a brother, Sam Russell of Dallas, Texas, two special aunts, Inez Merritt of Houghton, La., and Faye Bone of Burleson, Tex.; seventeen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Carrell Russell will be held at 10:00 A.M.., Tuesday, August 14, 2012 in the Church of Christ, Horatio, Arkansas, with Virgil Romine, Minister officiating. Burial will follow in the Pauley cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Monday, August 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
James Willis Butler
James Willis “Jay” Butler, age 73, resident of Ashdown, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2004 in Little River Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 2, 1931; and was a retired medical lab technician. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.C. and Ollie Parker Butler.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Carroll Butler; one son, Don Butler of Rio Linda, Calif.; one daughter, Louann Butler of Cool, Calif.; two stepsons, Dennis Jones of Gurdon and Don Jones of Scott; one stepdaughter, Diana O’Bryant of Gravelly; one sister, Ferrell Lovell of De Queen; one grandson; nine step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4 in Lockesburg cemetery with Dennis Jones officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Garland Simer McNully
Mrs. Garland Simer McNully, age 80, of North Little Rock, AR, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 in the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
She was born May 3, 1924 to Samuel and Jessie Gore Simer. She was raised in the Dilworth Community near Horatio. A lifelong Presbyterian and ordained ruling elder, she was a member of the Park Hill Presbyterian Church in North Little Rock.
Mrs. McNully was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Dale and Arnold Simer, and an infant sister.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, David McNully, a daughter, Annabelle McNully Trettin of Herndon, VA; two sons and their families, James, Betsy and Georgia McNully of Sherwood, AR; and Hollis McNully and Pamela Daniele of Atlanta, GA; and Hollis' children, Brandon, Kristin and Lauren; her sisters, Bonnie Canady of Orange, TX, Rosalie VanMeter of Texarkana and Perrylene Cearley of Dierks, AR and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service was held Friday, October 8, 2004 in the Park Hill Presbyterian Church, 3520 JFK Blvd, in North Little Rock.
Funeral Services for Mrs. McNully were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 9, 2004 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gordon Garlington, pastor of Park Hill Presbyterian Church and Rev. Jim Ainsworth of Crockett, TX, officiating. Burial followed in the Millwee cemetery.
The family received friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, October 8, at Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
