John S. Youngblood
John Sevier Youngblood, age 86, a resident of Hatton, Ark., died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003 in Hot Springs.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31 in the Hatton First Baptist Church with Bro. Harold Davis officiating. Burial followed in the Cecil Chapel cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
He was born Monday, July 23, 1917 in the Kellum Community. He was a farmer and a member of the Hatton First Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school superintendent for almost 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Jerry and Lily Rasmon Youngboold; and his wife: Eloise Marie Garner Youngblood.
He is survived by two sons: Don Youngblood of Wickes and John David Youngblood of Hatton; two daughters: Charlene Vaughn of Glenwood and Pauline Vaughn of Kirby; two sisters: Margie Car-penter of De Queen and Alice Parks of Houston, Tex.; two brothers: Robert Youngblood of Watson, Okla. and Fred Youngblood of Grannis; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Iris Ziola
Mrs. Iris Ziola, resident of Saskatoon, Canada, died Friday, Oct. 17.
Funeral services are pending and will be held in Canada.
She is survived by her husband, George Ziola of Saskatoon, Canada, five daughters, Dr. Cheryl Vogan of De Queen, Shelly, Lois, Laurie and Patti; and eight grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital or the charity of your choice.

Mary Eleanor Harrison
Mary Eleanor McLeod Har-rison, age 74, resident of Texarkana, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003 at her home.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29 in Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Wallace Edgar officiating. Burial followed in Harmony Grove cemetery under the direction of East Funeral Home of Texarkana.
She was born Sept. 27, 1929 at Lockesburg; was retired from St. Michael Hospital after 16 years; and was affiliated with Trinity Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years Eugene Clingan Har-rison; and two brothers, Robbie Arthur McLeod and Harold McLeod.
She is survived by two sons, Clingan Edwin Harrison of Po-mona, Mo., and Harold Eugene Harrison of Texarkana; one daughter, Susan Annette Smith of Texarkana; two sisters, Norma Dell Rice of Beaumont, Tex., and Sharon Louise Chaney of De Queen; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grand-children.
The family received visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28 at the funeral home.

Wayne Downing
Wayne Downing, age 48, resident of Provo, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003 at his home.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21 in Belleville Methodist Church near Lockes-burg with Rev. Wallace Wooten officiating. Burial was in Belleville cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
He was born Aug. 2, 1955 at Gallup, NM, and was a timber worker. He was predeceased by his father, Clarence H. Downing; and two brothers, Darrell and Danny Downing.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Yancey Downing; two daughters, Missy Downing of Foreman and Sandy Gray of Provo; his mother, Helen Downing of Provo; his grandmother, Elizabeth Jaquess of Horatio; four brothers, David Downing and Stevie Downing, both of Camden, Michael Downing of Lockesburg, and Kris Downing of De Queen; one granddaughter; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20 at the funeral home and met at the Provo Community Center following the funeral.

Junius Judson Denson
Junius Judson Denson, age 74, resident of De Queen, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003 in Christus St. Michael Health System at Texarkana.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21 in Mt. Ida cemetery with Rev. Guy Roberts officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.
He was born Aug. 24, 1929 at Paraloma to Judson and Dicie Caler Denson; was a retired truck driver and timber worker; and a Baptist.
He is survived by two sons, Judd Denson of Eagletown, Okla., and Gerald Denson of Lockesburg; three daughters, Freda Thompson, Teresa Carrillo and Sheila Pogue, all of De Queen; his mother, Dicie Ward of Ashdown; one brother, Kermit Ward of Ashdown; two sisters, Priscilla Morris of Ashdown and Henrietta Dull of New Boston, Tex.; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Paul Jackson Muckelrath
Paul “Jack” Jackson Muckelrath, age 78, resident of Wickes, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4 in Wickes Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Curtis Burke and Rev. Tony Usery officiating. Burial followed in Daniel cemetery under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.
He was born Sept 22, 1925 in Griffin to Benjamin Franklin and Odie Sanford Muckelrath; entered the United States Navy as a Chief Radioman serving in World War II, Vietnam, and the Korean Conflict; attended Wickes Baptist Church; and was a member of the VFW and Wickes American Legion. He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers; one sister; one half-sister; and his first wife.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Sherrouse Muckelrath of Wickes; three daughters, Paula Holt of Oregon, and Linda Nevarez and Jana Mockler, both of California; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four stepchildren; and eight step-grandchildren.

Helen Taylor
Helen Taggart Taylor, 75, of Hot Springs Village and Pine Crest Retirement Home of Ashdown, AR, passed away on October 10, 2003 in a Texarkana hospital.
She was born on September 10, 1928 in De Queen, Arkansas to Marvin and Clara Taggart.
She is survived by her husband, Hugh Taylor of Hot Springs Vil-lage, AR and Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Ashdown, AR, two brothers, Lynn Taggart and wife Lois of Rush, TX, Quinton Taggart and wife Shirley of De Queen, AR, two step-daughters, Linda Gideons and husband Wayne of Greenboro, NC, Patti Adams and hus-band John of Chula Visto, CA, three step-grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephew.
She was a retired federal employee and a Baptist, she was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Clara Taggart of De Queen, Leo Taggart of Houston, TX, Bobby Taggart of Moss Point, MS and Jerry Taggart of De Queen.
Funeral Services were held Monday, October 13, 2003 at 10:00 a.m., in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen, AR with Rev. Faron Rogers officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Ida cemetery in De Queen.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m., Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Thurman Jackson
Thurman Jackson, age 92, resident of Idabel, Okla., died Friday, Oct. 10, 2003 in Memorial Heights Nursing Center.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13 in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Virgil Romine, minister, officiating. Burial followed in Cerro Gordo cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
He was born March 8, 1911 in Goodwater, Okla.; was a retired employee of Weyerhaeuser; and a member of Horatio Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Mary Jackson of Idabel, Okla.; one son, Tommy Jackson of Idabel, Okla.; one daughter, Betty Rives of Idabel, Okla.; one sister, Margie Zuccaro of Chicago, Ill.; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Wilbert Lee Pokorny
Wilbert Lee Pokorny, age 70, resident of De Queen, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003 in De Queen Re-gional Medical Center.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel.
He was born April 7, 1933 in Veribest, Tex.; was retired from Weyerhaeuser; and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Sophie Vidler Pokorny; and his wife, Christine Pokorny.
He is survived by one stepdaughter, Gerland Head of Detroit, Mich.

Joseph Keanu Hapai
Joseph Keanu Hapai, age 74, resident of Broken Bow, Okla., and formerly of De Queen, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2003 in Christus St. Michael Health Center at Texarkana.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22 in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Redmen cemetery.
He was born Nov. 30, 1928 in Waiomao, Hawaii; was a retired truck driver; and Army veteran; and a Mormon. He was predeceased by his wife, Nellie Marie Spears Hapai on April 9, 1998.
He is survived by three daughters, Darlene May of Broken Bow, Okla., Sheila Pigg of Millerton, Okla., and Shirley Dye of Truman; three sons, Roger May of De Queen, Willard May of Covington, Tenn., and Ronnie Woodward of Rockford, Ill.; one sister, Lillian Whitney of Hawaii; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
