Edna Lois Lovell
Edna Lois Greathouse Lovell, age 75, resident of Hot Springs, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004 in Hot Springs.
She was born March 2, 1929 at Alekchia, Okla. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Hettie Davis Greathouse; three brothers, Mark Greathouse, Virgil Greathouse and Otis Greathouse; and one sister, Marie Pettigrew.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Lovell of Hot Springs; one son, John Lovell of Hot Springs; two daughters, Julia Brown and Cheryl Meggers, both of Hot Springs; five sisters, Opal Barbour of Hot Springs, Maxine Stahl of Pine Bluff, Dorothy Springs of Dothan, Ala., Evelyn Gowen of Fresno, Calif., and Onita Causey of De Queen; one brother, Raymond Greathouse of Oklahoma City, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7 in Gross Funeral Home of Hot Springs.
Patsy L. Gay
Patsy L. Gay, age 57, resident of Wickes, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004 in Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana.
She was born April 2, 1947 in Polk County; was an employee at Tyson Foods; and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Darcus Ward Crabtree.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde Gay of Wickes; two sons, Michael Lee Gay of Cove and Raymond Donovan Gay of Ashdown; one sister, Harveylee Hammer of Wickes; and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8 in Oak Grove Chapel in Wickes with Rev. George Crump officiating. Burial followed in Oak Grove cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Isrrael Trujillo Gutierrez
Isrrael Trujillo Gutierrez, age one year, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004 in Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock.
He was born June 6, 2003 in De Queen to Isrrael Trujillo and Candelaria Gutierrez.
He is survived by his parents; one brother, Geovanni Trujillo Gutierrez; and one sister, Ximena Trujillo Gutierrez, all of De Queen.
A Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20 in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21 in St. Barbara’s Catholic Church with Father John Kerr officiating. Burial followed in Redmen cemetery.
Mr. Donald "Porky" Vanhoose
Mr. Donald Lee "Porky" Vanhoose, Jr., age 27, resident of Gillham, Arkansas, died Tuesday, October 26, 2004 in a Indianapolis, Indiana hospital, from injuries received in a construction accident.
He was born at Antlers, Oklahoma, on August 28, 1977, was a foreman for Pilgrim's Pride, and was currently working for Schueck Corp. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing all sports, four-wheeling, and spending time with his family and friends, and was very devoted to his sons.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dakota Lee Vanhoose in 1996.
He is survived by two sons, Dilon Lane Vanhoose and Hunter Ray Vanhoose, both of De Queen; a step-son, Garrett Sullivan of De Queen; his mother and step-father, Velma and Pat Whisenhunt of Gillham; his father, Donald Vanhoose, Sr. of Eagletown, Okla.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Melissa Vanhoose of Hayworth, Okla., and Greg and Lisa Vanhoose of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; his grandparents, Wilson and Deloris Taylor of Sobol, Okla.; his great-grandmother, Ida Taylor of Sobol, Okla.; two nephews, Sylace Vanhoose and Devyn Jones; four nieces, Chelsie Vanhoose, Christian Vanhoose, Kimberlian Vanhoose, and Ashley Ballew.
Funeral services for Mr. Donald "Porky" Vanhoose were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 30, 2004 in the Goodwater United Methodist Church at Sobol, Okla. with Rev. Mildred Harjo officiating. Burial followed in the Chapel Hill cemetery, De Queen, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Eugenia Coffman
Mrs. Eugenia Gore Pennington Coffman, age 86, resident of Broken Bow, Okla., and formerly of De Queen, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004 in McCurtain County Memorial Hospital at Idabel.
She was born June 17, 1918 at De Queen to T.E. and Fannie Sides Gore; was a retired employee of Mountaire Poultry; a homemaker; and a member of Golden Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Buford “Buzz” Pennington of Catoosa, Okla., and Thurman “Red” Pennington of Lockesburg; one daughter, Marvarine Wright of Broken Bow, Okla.; one sister, Amelene Burnett of Oklahoma City, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3 in Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark McGeehee officiating. Burial followed in Millwee cemetery.
Thelma Ann Minor
Mrs. Thelma Ann Williams Sharp Minor, age 68, resident of Grannis, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004 in De Queen Regional Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 8, 1935 in Sevier County to Branch Phillip Sr. and Lena Elizabeth Bishop Wil-liams; was a retried secretary for the City of Grannis; and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene “Bob” Minot in October of 2003; and a son, Randy Sharp in November of 2001.
She is survived by four sons, Ronald Sharp and Robert Sharp, both of Grannis, Joe Sharp Jr. of Gillham, and James Sharp of Hot Springs; two daughters, JoAnn Waddle of Deer Park, Tex., and Renee Newberry of LaPorte, Tex.; two stepsons, Robert Minor Jr. of Grannis and Cragar Minor of Fayetteville; one stepdaughter, Missy Tabler of Fayetteville; one sister, Helen Law of Pasadena, Tex.; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18 in Millwee cemetery with Rev. Mike Wilson officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Stephanie K. Wilson
Stephanie K. Wilson, age 38, resident of Dierks, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004 at her home.
She was born March 23, 1966 in Idabel, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her father, Perry Turbyfill; and one brother, Leslie Rainwater.
She is survived by her two daughters, Samantha Garrett and Shae Wilson, both of Dierks; her mother and stepfather, Janet and J.W. Pond of Dierks; two brothers, J.W. Pond Jr. of Dierks and Eddie Turbyfill of Arkansas; and two sisters, Dericia Denson of Dierks and Becky Turbyfill of Texarkana.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22 in First Assembly of God Church in Dierks with Rev. Henry Bateman officiating. Burial followed in Fellowship cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Beulah J. Cox
Mrs. Beulah J. (Graves) Cox, age 92, a resident of De Queen, died Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at her home.
She was born January 29, 1912 in De Queen. She was a lunch room supervisor for the De Queen Public School System and a member of the First Christian Church in De Queen.
Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Lee Cox on July 6, 1987.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Imagean Cox of De Queen; one daughter and son-in-law, Belinda and Bill Martin of Punta Gorda, Fla.; one granddaughter, Alison Vallejo and her husband, Dan of Tampa, Fla.; one grandson, John David Cox of De Queen; and one great-granddaughter, Rebekah Vallejo of Tampa.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Cox were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 16, 2004 in the Chapel Hill cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Dale officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Tracie Leigh Bourns Trout
Tracie Leigh Bourns Trout, 32, of Magnolia, Arkansas, passed away Monday, October 11, 2004, in her home.
Tracie was born December 15, 1971, in Albany, Georgia. She was a Jr. High English teacher at Haynesville School (Claiborne Parish, LA), member and Second Grade Sunday School Teacher at Central Baptist Church and a Girl Scout Leader.
She was Claiborne Parish Teacher of the Year 2002 - 2003. She held a BSE degree and was in her final semester of her Masters degree in Public School Administration at Southern Arkansas University.
Survivors are her husband, Mark Trout; infant son, Samuel Trout; daughter, Hannah Trout all of Magnolia, Ark.; her parents, Greg and Maureen Bourns of Waldron, Ark.; brothers, Scott Bourns of Meadville, Pa., Jeffrey Bourns of Russellville, Ark., and Brandt Bourns of Fayetteville, Ark.; half-brother, Roy L. Bourns of Fort Polk, La.; half-sister, Theresa L. Bourns of Pensacola, Fla.; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Lottie DuBoise of Chunchula, Ala.; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Thursday, October 14, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church with Bro. David Wood officiating under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Interment will follow at a later date in Turnerville cemetery in Turnerville, Ala.. Family visitation was Wednesday, October 13, 2004, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haynesville Junior High School, 9910 Hwy. 79, Haynesville, Louisiana, 71038, or to the American Cancer Society.
Pallbearers will be Steve Craig, Douglas Richardson, Perry Anderson, John Robert Schirmer, Todd Trimble and Jeff Bailey.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her cousins, Paul DuBoise, David DuBoise, Steve Jones, Phillip Montgomery, Heath Murry and Charles Roady.
Jimmie Carol Rutz
Jimmie Carol Reddell Rutz, age 50, resident of Broken Bow, Okla., died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004.
She was born July 10, 1954 at Stillwell, Okla.; was a homemaker; and a member of Lakeside Christian Church of Broken Bow. She was preceded in death by her father, James Clayton Reddell.
She is survived by her husband, James Rutz of Broken Bow, Okla.; a daughter, Michelle Keils of Broken Bow, Okla.; a son, Shane Bryant White of Broken Bow, Okla.; her mother, Lealice Jones Reddell of Shongaloo, La.; a brother, Paul Reddell of Nottingham, England; two sisters, Sherry Suit of Ozark and Dyan Sanders of Maumelle; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16 in Antioch Church of Christ in Shongaloo, La., with Bro. Adrian Delukie officiating.
