Sheila Linville Farias
Sheila Linville Farias, age 49, resident of Fall River, Mass., died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004.
She was born Sept. 21, 1954 in Canton, Ohio to Leroy and Fern Manasco Linville; was formerly employed as a registered nurse; and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Fall River. She was preceded in death by one son, Chance Long.
She is survived by her husband, Robert D. Farias of Fall River, Mass.; one daughter, Paige Shields of Houston, Tex.; her parents, Leroy and Fern Linville of Umpire; three brothers, Michael Linville of Foreman, Charles Linville of Jacksonville, Fla., and Stephen Linville of Texarkana; one sisters, Lisa Linville of Dierks; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004 in Galena cemetery near Umpire under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hope Vaught
Mrs. Margaret Hope Burns Vaught, age 66, resident of Gillham, died Sunday, August 1, 2004 in the Christus St. Michael Health System, Texarkana, Texas.
She was born to Robert Newton "Bob" and Ava Ward Burns at Gillham, Arkansas on May 2, 1938. She was a retired florist and a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Gillham, and enjoyed flowers, quilting and reading.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bob Burns.
She is survived by her husband, Felton Vaught of Gillham; four daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Bruce Hall of Pearland, Texas, Linda Cummings of Highlands, Texas, Susan and Rick Stephens of League City, Texas, and Robin and Bill Warne of Wimberly, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Harvey and JoAnn Burns of Mena, Arkansas; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hope Vaught were held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 3, 2004 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob McManus officiating. Burial will follow in the Mineral cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Rosa Lee Hejduk
Mrs. Rosa Lee Vance Hejduk, age 34, a resident of De Queen, died Sunday, July 18, 2004 in Polk County.
She was born October 1, 1969 in De Queen to Finley Joe and Shirley Ann Hughes Vance. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Jason Hejduk; one daughter, Jennifer Rose Wright; and one son, Lyle James Wright, all of De Queen; three sisters, Bertha Loyd and Joann Walker, both of De Queen, and Alta Klitz of Haworth, Okla.; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Hejduk were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 22, in the Avon cemetery with Rev. Grant Groves officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Thurman Watson
Arthur "Thurman" Watson, age 74, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004 in Bedford, Texas.
He was born October 31, 1929 in Dierks, Ark.; was a retired electronic engineer; and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Watson, and a son, Chad Watson, both of Euless; and other family members.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 8 in the Lucas Funeral Home Chapel in Hurst, Texas. Burial was at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington, Texas.

Lillie Mae Nash
Lillie Mae Nash, age 82, formerly of Glenwood, died Saturday, July 17, 2004, at De Queen.
She was born on July 29, 1921, at Kirby, the daughter of Albert S. Pardon and Sadie Tigue Pardon. She retired from the glove factory in Glenwood and she was Free Will Baptist in faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Nash, on July 8, 1973; one daughter, Glennita Westfall on September 14, 1982; one grandson, Michael Parson on March 11, 1982; and one sister, Faye Barnett.
She is survived by one daughter, Arvie Della (Wallie) Peppers of De Queen; three grandsons, two step-grandsons, and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 19, in the County Line cemetery, near Glenwood, with Bro. Bobby Neal officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
Ara Dean Petet
Mrs. Ara Dean Petet, age 83, a resident of De Queen, Ark., died Sunday, July 18, 2004 in the Brookewood Nursing Center in De Queen.
She was born April 16, 1921 in Pollard, Okla., to Berry and Daisy Patterson Province. She was a homemaker and a member of Memorial Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Henry V. Petet.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Lou Petet Martin of Dierks; two sons, Tom Petet and Jerry Petet, both of De Queen; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Petet were held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 20, 2004 in the Chapel Hill cemetery with Rev. Joe Carlton officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Tony Martin, Steve Martin, Tracy Petet, Tracy Ferguson, Stan Petet, Steve Petet, and Scott Petet.
In lieu of flower memorials may be made to the Memorial missionary Baptist Church building fund.
Edith Tierce Cannon
Mrs. Edith Tierce Jayroe Cannon, age 90, resident of De Queen and formerly of Sentinel, Okla., died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004 in Brookewood Nursing Center.
She was born Jan. 14, 1914 at Rocky, Okla. to Barb and Virgie Logan Tierce; was a member of First Baptist Church of Cordell, Okla., a retired employee of Rexall Drug Store in Sentinel, Okla., and a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Sammie Borum of De Queen; one brother, Louis Tierce of Arlington, Tex.; one sister, Lucille Colson of El Cajon, Calif.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10 in Rocky cemetery, Sentinel, Okla., with Rev. R.B. Mathis officiating, under the direction of Jack Loftis Funeral Home of Sentinel, Okla. Local arrangements under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.
Mr. John Irvan
Mr. John Edward Irvan, affectionately called "Racehorse", age 49, resident of Knox City, Texas, and former resident of Horatio, died Thursday, May 13, 2004, in King County, Texas.
He was born to E. L. "Hound" Irvan, Sr. and Mildred Willis Irvan at De Queen, Arkansas, on June 17, 1954. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Horatio, a ranch foreman, and enjoyed the company of his dogs, time spent with many friends and family, horses, and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by two sons, Johnny Gibbs Irvan of Horatio and Reggie Irvan of Kemp, Texas; one daughter, Robin Irvan of Kemp, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Erenest Lee, Jr. and Deborah Irvan, of Horatio; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Debra and John Martin and Linda and Samuel Patrick, both of Horatio; a number of nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts, and a life long friend, Wayne Kirk of Plano, Texas.
Funeral services for Mr. John Irvan were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 18, 2004 in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Coy Arnold and Rev. J. L. Walker officiating. Burial followed in the Clear Creek cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, Arkansas. The family was at the home of Samuel and Linda Patrick, Horatio.
James Edward Willbanks
James Edward “J.E.” Willbanks, age 86, resident of Hot Springs, died Thursday, April 22, 2004.
He was born Jan. 9, 1918 in Little River County to Eva and Jesse Willbanks; was a U.S. Army combat veteran; was inducted in the Army in 1942 where he served in the Pacific Theatre; re-enlisted in 1948 and served more than 20 years retiring as a Sergeant First Class. His service included a tour of duty as an infantryman during the Korean War and other assignments in the Far East, Germany and the continental United States. After retiring from the service, he spent 18 years as master chef at the Avanelle Restaurant in Hot Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents; one half-brother, Wesley Ringer; and one half-sister, Myrtle Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Juanita Kesterson Willbanks; two sons, James H. Willbanks of Leavenworth, Kan., and Donald E. Willbanks of Franktown, Colo.; one daughter, Sue Wilson of Hot Springs; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 25 with Elder Bob Kesterson and Priest Mary Kesterson officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
