Juanita Henry
Mrs. Juanita Graves Henry, age 90, resident of Dierks, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004 in Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville.
She was born Aug. 27, 1914 in Center Point; was a pharmacist; and a member of Dierks Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Jay Henry; and her parents, J.R. and Willie Dossey Graves.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Hickey of Little Rock; one sister, Ruthell Reese of Springdale; one grand-son; one great-granddaughter; two nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3 in Dierks Church of Christ with James McRae, minister officiating. Burial followed in Dierks cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in Dierks.
Peggy Ann Broach
Peggy Ann Broach, age 57, resident of Hatton, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2004 in Lockesburg.
She was born March 8, 1947 at Gallup, NM, to Virgil Edward and Janie Holley Hainey; and was a member of Pleasant Grove Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Arnold Broach of Cove; one son, Arnold Chad Broach of Plunkettville, Okla.; one daughter, Tammy Marie Keen of Horatio; two brothers, Billy Harris of Truth or Consequences, NM, and Robert Darby of Grants, NM; two sisters, Mary Jane Briggs of Duncan, Ariz., Pamela Sue Harris of St. Johns, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29 in Cove First Baptist Church. Burial followed in Westview cemetery under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home in Mena.
Emma Faye Green
Mrs. Emma Faye Green, age 74, resident of Horatio, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004.
She was born Jan. 8, 1930 in Winthrop to Robert and Clara Bush; was a homemaker; a seamstress; and a former employee of Coca Cola and Nakoosa-Edwards. She was preceded in death by her husband, S.E. Green.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna Crumbly of Sheridan and Linda Hancock of Horatio; three sons, Harold E. Green of Wake Village, Tex., Michael Green of Ripley, Tenn., and Reginald E. Green of Custer, Mt.; one sister, Martha Evans of Kingman, Ariz.; one brother, Robert L. Bush of Ashdown; 18 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30 in Old Center Church with Rev. George Crum-bly and Rev. Richard Bolt officiating. Burial followed in Old Center cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Visitation was Monday, Nov. 29 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Marilyn Rose Woodward
Mrs. Marilyn Rose Cragar Woodward, age 76, resident of southern California, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004 at the home of her daughter in Bellingham, Wash.
She was born Jan. 7, 1928 at Grannis to Clifford and Bertha Clinton Cragar; was a retired electron microscopist; and a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Luann Dapice in 1996.
She is survived by two daughters, Sara Kessler of Los Angeles, Calif., and Jan Hodge of Bellingham, Wash.; one sister, Lasca Lewis of Goodyear, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27 in Grannis cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.
Mrs. Betty Rogers
Mrs. Betty Joye Young Rogers, age 75, resident of De Queen, died Monday, November 22, 2004 in the Christus St. Michael Health System, Texarkana.
She was born to Louie D. and Leona Streety Young at Dallas, Texas, on September 12, 1929. She was a retired bookkeeper, as well as a homemaker. She attended the Friendship Baptist Church of De Queen, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, embroidering, and house plants.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, JoAnn Swafford; a brother, Louis D. Young; a son-in-law, John N. Miller; a stepson, Johnny Rogers; and a step-son-in-law, Ronnie Henry; and in February of 1994, her husband, Edgar E. Rogers, Jr.
She is survived by one daughter, Joye Miller Riggan of De Queen; one stepdaughter, Janet Henry of Cove, Arkansas; one stepson and wife, Eddie and Sylvia Rogers of Euless, Texas; two granddaughters and their husbands, Sherri and Charles Ray Butler of Horatio and Elizabeth and Tom Gavigan of Woodridge, Illinois; one grandson and his wife, John Michael and LeeAnn Miller of De Queen; step-grandchildren, Brian, Jason, Robert, and Melissa; great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Quinton, Cody, Chris, Emma, Olivia, Ryan, David, Taylor, Myha, and Gifford; one brother, Melvin Young of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Anita Hargrove of Dallas, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Betty Rogers were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 24, 2004 in the Duckett cemetery with Rev. George Frachiseur officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen. The family received friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 23, 2004.
Opal Bernice Bridges
Mrs. Opal Bernice (Green) Bridges, age 85, resident of Foreman, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004 at her home.
She was born Nov. 7, 1919 in the Miller Community in Little River County to Albert and Margaret Green; was a homemaker; and a Methodist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Hill Bridges on Oct. 29, 1992.
She is survived by one daughter, Effie Bateman of Hooks, Tex.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday. Nov. 28 in Crossroads First Baptist Church with Rev. Audie Dawson officiating. Burial followed in Green cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Audrey Estella Cleghorn
Mrs. Audrey Estella Nichols Cleghorn, age 88, resident of Foreman, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004 at her home.
She was born March 11, 1916 in Newburg, Mo., to Jacob and Emma Nichols; was a homemaker; and a member of First Baptist Church in Foreman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Cleghorn in 1988; and one son, Donald Cleghorn in 2003.
She is survived by two daughters, Billy Joe Fowler and Jackie Deen of Foreman; one brother, Forest Nichols of Odessa, Tex.; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29 in First Baptist Church in Foreman with Rev. Jimmy Woods officiating. Burial followed in Gravelly cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
Thomas Fredrick Bedwell
Thomas Fredrick Bedwell, age 67, resident of Nashville, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004 in Christus St. Michael Health System.
He was born Sept. 16, 1937 in Nashville; served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict; and was a carpenter and night watchman. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harold and Harvey May; one son, Kyle Wright; and a daughter, Kirsti Bedwell.
He is survived by seven sons, Clint Bedwell of Nashville, Jeff Bedwell of Burton, Mich., Randy May of Delight, Derrick Stockdale, Patrick Stockdale, Alex Stockdale and Allen Stockdale, all of Nashville; four daughters, Cindy LaGrappe of Nederland, Tex., Donna Creason of Burton, Mich., Janet Trusley and Tammy Riggsby, both of Nashville; four brothers, Frank May, Bobby May and Billy May, all of Nashville, and Don May of Highland; two sisters, Carolyn May of California and Mary Crews of Murfreesboro; and a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22 in Nathan cemetery, Nathan, Ark., under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
Dorothy Lee Stovall
Dorothy Lee Stovall, age 77, resident of Eagletown, Okla., died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003 in Broken Bow, Okla.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21 in Eagletown cemetery with Rev. Cy Davis officiating, under the direction of Norwood-Coffey-Leonard Funeral Home of Broken Bow, Okla.
She was born June 17, 1926 in Denison, Tex.; and was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her parents, Mike and Mable Shipley Carr; her husband, Jim Stovall in 1990; son, Jim Arnold Stovall Jr.; daughter, Elsie Irene Stovall; son-in-law, Sonny Moore; grandson, Raybo Moore; two brothers; and one sister.
She is survived by ten sons, Mitchell Stovall of Eagletown, Okla., Bill David Stovall and Eddie Ray Stovall, both of Amarillo, Tex., Jessie Lee Stovall of Broken Bow, Okla., Curtis Stovall of Horatio, Henry Dwight Stovall, Pete Stovall and Bob Billington, all of Eagletown, Okla., Tommy Stovall of McAllen, Tex., and William Stovall of Duncan, Okla.; an adopted son, Don Chambless of Amarillo, Tex.; five daughters, Ann Moore, Dottie Cook and Tessie Leonard, all of Eagletown, Okla., Sissie Stovall, Dallas, Tex., and Rusty Roush of Ashdown; a brother, Bill Ray Carr of Arlington, Tex.; three sisters, Frances Reeves, Cartwright, Okla., Katherine Owens, Baker, La., Lola Canton, Denison, Tex.; 50 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; number of nieces and nephews.
Bobbie M. McCown
Mrs. Bobbie M. Russell McCown, age 82, resident of De Queen, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003 in Christus St. Michael Health System at Texarkana.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 in Ashdown cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home of De Queen.
She was born April 9, 1921 at Broken Bow, Okla., to Fred Washington and Willie Gregory Russell; was a retired co-owner and operator of Yesteryear Antiques; a homemaker; and a member of First United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, A. Herman McCown in September of 1996.
She is survived by one son, Kent McCown of Magee, Miss.; one daughter, Judy Sullivan of Caddo Mills, Tex.; one sister, Mary Ann Dujmov of Metairie, La.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
