Sandra Faye Walters, 45, of 1803 East Circle Drive, died November 23, 2001, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Born January 24, 1956, at Edmondson (Crittenden County), she was a daughter of Lillie R. Jones of Pine Bluff and James Otis Buckley of Proctor (Crittenden County).
She was a member of First Trinity Church of God in Christ.
She worked in the nursing field over 20 years. She took care of the elderly and sick.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dianna Buckley and Donna Kay Buckley; and one brother, Little Johnny Buckley.
Others survivors include two daughters, Latisa Murray of Detroit and Cassandra Walters of Pine Bluff; one son, Jimmie L. Walters Jr. of Pine Bluff; four brothers, Otis Buckley of Detroit, Larry Buckley of Edmondson, James Buckley of Star City and Willie Buckley of Pine Bluff; five sisters, Betty Nelson of Pine Bluff, Reola McClure and Alice Dysart, both of Detroit, and Patricia Williams and Clandia Lampkin, both of Kansas City, Michigan; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Trinity Church of God in Christ with Leroy McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens by Christian Way Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The body will be at the church from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday.
The family will be at 2200 West 10th Avenue.
Robert Lee Wilson
Robert Lee Wilson, 54, of Pine Bluff, died February 12, 2001, at his home.
Born October 28, 1946, at Brush Creek (Grant County), he was a son of the late Joseph and Bernice Oglesby Wilson.
He was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church at Sheridan. He was a retired truck driver with the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department and a former member of the Leola Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Wilkins Wilson; two daughters, Larissa Grice and Amanda Atchley, both of Sheridan; a stepson, Chip Bratcher of Pine Bluff; two brothers, Ronald Wilson and David Wilson, both of Leola; four sisters, Linda Pilcher of Oklahoma, Brenda Wilson, Mary Miller, and Diane Vann, all of Leola; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church at Sheridan with the Rev. Shelton Miller, the Rev. Rick Etheridge and the Rev. Terry Williams officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery near Sheridan by Buie Funeral Home of Sheridan.
Freddy J. Smith
Freddy J. Smith, 72, of Pittsburg, Kansas, died February 9, 2001, at his home.
Born August 20, 1928, at McGehee, Arkansas, he was a son of the late James Moses and Jennie Lee Maier Smith.
He attended school at McGehee and graduated from McGehee High School. He graduated from Arkansas A&M (now University of Arkansas at Monticello). He received a master's degree from East Texas State University at Commerce, Texas, and a doctorate in education from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He moved to Pittsburg in 1961 where he became associated with Pittsburg State Teachers College (now Pittsburg State University). He was a professor emeritus in the department of technical education. He retired from PSU in 1991. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Kansas Vocational Association, the Tri-Kennel Club of Joplin, Missouri, Heartland Bernese Mountain Club and Pittsburg area wood carvers.
Survivors include his wife, Delma L. Smith, whom he married June 6, 1952, at Monticello; one son, Freddy JacksonSmith Jr. of Sterling Heights, Michigan; three daughters, Louanne Smith Steele of Wichita, Kansas, Lori Ellen Smith of Pittsburg, and Melinda O'Donnell of Sarasota, Florida; two brothers, Robert Maier Smith and James Neill Smith, both of McGehee; a sister, Margaret J. Smith Clem of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Theodore A. Inman officiating. Burial was in the Highland Park Cemetery at Pittsburg by Brenner Mortuary.

Gloria Smith
Gloria Smith, 53, of 3215 East Second Avenue, died April 12, 2001, at Arkansas Heart Hospital at Little Rock.
Born August 15, 1947, at Sherrill, she was a daughter of the late Curtis Smith and Lula Garden.
She was a member of Amos Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
She was a beautician.
Survivors include one brother, Alvin Smith of Las Vegas and one aunt who took care of her, Mildred Morris of Pine Bluff.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Amos Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Willis officiating. Burial will be in P.K. Miller Cemetery by Christian Way Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The body will be at the church today from 10 a.m. until service time.
The family will be at 1304 East Sixth Avenue.
Billy Binns
MONTICELLO - Billy Binns, 22, of Monticello, died August 12, 2001, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center at Pine Bluff.
Born January 15, 1979, in Pulaski County, he was a son of the late Pearlene Ridgell Binns.
He was a 1998 graduate of Monticello High School and was a member of Mt. Zion AME Church.
He was preceded in death by one brother, James Binns.
Survivors include one daughter, Makayla Binns of Dermott; three brothers, Fredrick Binns of Monticello, Jewel Binns of Arkadelphia and Daniel Binns of Los Angeles; five sisters, Vanessa Binns and LaSheta Binns, both of Monticello, and Monica Binns, Monique Binns and LaShon Binns, all of Little Rock; grandmother, Allie Ridgell of Monticello; three foster brothers, Cedrick Johnson, Quincy Johnson and Xavier King, all of Monticello; and two foster sisters, Cecily Johnson and Kalephia Johnson, both of Monticello.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home with the Rev. Kent Broughton officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Drew County.
Mary Rhodes
Mary Frances Weaver Rhodes, 69, of Pine Bluff, died November 28, 2001, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Born November 16, 1932, at Parkin (Cross County), she was a daughter of the late M.E. Weaver and Katie Lea Sharp Weaver.
She graduated from WhiteHall High School in 1950. She was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and previously worked for Pine Bluff Nursing Home.
Survivors include her husband, A.C. Rhodes, whom she married November 3, 1951; a son, Clint Rhodes of Alexander; three daughters, Cindy Chapman of Alexander, Amy Failla of Shreveport and Nancy Rhodes of Pine Bluff; two brothers, Dewight Weaver of Burke, Virginia, and Philip Weaver of White Hall; two sisters, Juanita Hunt of WhiteHall and Geraldine Tharpe of Sheridan; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Watson Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. M.L. Faler officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Cranford Funeral Home of White Hall.
Visitation will be held from noon until 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Virginia Paxton Garrett
Virginia Paxton Garrett, 83, of North Little Rock, died February 4, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital at North Little Rock.
Born January 6, 1918, at Prattsville, she was the daughter of the late Thomas D. Paxton and Jessie Lee Varnell Paxton.
She was a retired secretary for Allis-Saunders. She was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church and the AARP.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dalton Garrett in 1985.
There are no immediate survivors.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Buie Funeral Home of Sheridan with Dr. Carey Heard officiating. Burial will be in Philadelphia Cemetery at Prattsville.

Louise Smith
Louise Smith, 97, of Dumas, died April 24, 2001, at Dumas Nursing Center. Arrangements will be announced by Brown Funeral of Dumas.
Beatrice Shaw
Beatrice Shaw, 97, of 127 Otto Hall Road, died November 23, 2001, at her home.
Born May 5, 1904, at Lake Village, she was a daughter of the late John Morton and Laura Morton.
She was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church, where she sang in the senior choir, was on the Mothers' Board and was an active member of the community mission ministry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Willie Shaw, whom she married March 1923, and who died January 1986; one brother, John Morton Jr. and nine children.
Survivors include three sons, Thurman Shaw of Pine Bluff, James W. Shaw of Chicago and William A. Shaw Sr. of Detroit; a daughter, Geneva Shaw of Chicago; 75 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; and 80 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Pleasant AME Church with the Rev. G.L. Ford officiating. Burial will be in P.K. Miller Cemetery by P.K. Miller Mortuary.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lois A. Wood
Lois A. Wood, 94, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, died January 26, 2001, at her home.
Born October 3, 1906, at Sidon, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Emmett and Rhoda Greer Shearin.
She was reared and received her early education at Sidon and continued her education in Little Rock, becoming a licensed practical nurse. In 1926, she married Commie Sooter and moved to California where she worked for many years in several Los Angeles area hospitals. Her husband died in 1954.
She later married Paul R. Wood. She retired from the Seventh Day Adventist Hospital at Glendale, California in 1965, and moved with her husband to Pine Bluff. He died in 1983.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff and was active in the church choir there for many years. She moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1997.
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Creecy of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; a sister, Juanita Ellithorpe of Coeur d' Alene; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors at Pine Bluff with Dr. John H. McClanahan officiating. Committal service will be held at 2 p.m. in Sidon Cemetery at Sidon.
The family will receive friends after the memorial services at Pine Bluff on Saturday.

Dr. Robert DuBose Dickins Jr.
Dr. Robert DuBose Dickins Jr., 61, of Little Rock, died April 24, 2001, at his home.
Born August 13, 1939, at Little Rock, he was a son of the late Dr. Robert DuBose Dickins and Anne Edwards Dickins.
He was raised at Pine Bluff. He was active in scouting as a child and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
He attended Vanderbilt University where he graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 1961 and graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1964. While at Vanderbilt he married and remained there through his residency in surgery and neurological surgery at Vanderbilt University Hospital.
He and his wife moved to Little Rock in 1970, where he became associated in a practice of neurological surgery.
He worked more than 30 years as a neurological surgeon at Little Rock where he was chief of medical staff, vice chief of medical staff and chief of surgery at Baptist Medical Center.
He was also on the medical staffs of St. Vincent Medical Center and Saline Memorial Center.
He and his brother, John Dickins, an otolaryngologist, often performed surgery together as a team within their respective specialties.
He had recently reduced his neurological surgery practice to serve as associate medical director at Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Eakin Dickins; a daughter, Margaret Avery Dickins of Little Rock; a son, Robert DuBose Dickins III of San Jose, California; and a brother, John R. E. Dickins of Little Rock.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Second Presbyterian Church at Little Rock. Funeral arrangements are by Ruebel Funeral Home at Little Rock.
Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Arts Center or a favorite charity.
AUSTIN, Texas - Helen Smith Bellhouse, 91, of Austin, Texas, died August 12, 2001, at Austin.
Born November 1, 1909, at Turnerville, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Smith and Mary Ellis Smith.
She was raised at Atlanta, where she studied at the Atlanta Conservatory of Music and graduated from Emory University. After marriage she moved to Pine Bluff.
She worked as a public school teacher both at Gary Elementary at Tyler, Texas, and in the Pine Bluff school system. She was active throughout her life in Episcopal churches.
After she moved to Houston, she became active in St. Francis Episcopal Church in the Bunker Hill area. She sang in the choir and was a member of the Elizabeth Guild and Daughters of the King. She also taught at St. Francis Day School for a number of years.
She was active in the Houston Tuesday Musical Club, the Chapel Bell Garden Club, Mu Phi Epsilon musical sorority, and the Alexander Love Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.
She moved to Austin to be near her daughter's family in 1998.
Survivors include one son, Tom Bellhouse III of Brunssum, Netherlands; one daughter, Wynyard B. Ellis of Austin; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at St. Francis Episcopal Church at Houston Friday at 11 a.m. Funeral arrangements are by All Faiths Funeral Service at Austin.
Memorials may be made to the St. Francis Episcopal Church's New Organ Fund.
Ruth Yarbrough
Ruth Irene Yarbrough, 85, of 6810 South Hazel Street, died November 28, 2001, at Davis Life Care Center.
Born December 18, 1915, at Scranton (Logan County), she was a daughter of the late Thomas Arch Lay and Fannie Louise Dodson Lay.
She was reared and educated at Scranton.
After she married her family moved to Wright, in the early 1930s and established a family farm. They lived in Wright until moving to Pine Bluff in the early 1950s.
She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death October 2, 1995, by her husband, Cloid W. Yarbrough, whom she married November 18, 1933, and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one son, James T. Yarbrough of Glendale; two daughters, Emma Jewel Chandler of Memphis and Ruth Virginia Lambert of Pine Bluff; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Cypress Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Victor McGhee officiating. Burial will be handled by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family will be at the home of James T. Yarbrough, 15550 Highway 54, Glendale.
