Madeline M. Williams
Madeline M. Williams, 89, of Trumann died Monday, Sept. 1, 2003 at St. Bernard's Medical Center.
She had worked as a telephone operator for Ritter Telephone and was a member of the First Assembly of God in Trumann.
Survivors include a sister, Joyce James of Memphis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Lois Williams, and six sisters.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5 in the chapel of Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree, with Kenneth Doke officiating.
Burial will follow in Marked Tree Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be members of her church.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Grady D. Smith
Grady D. Smith, 87, of West Memphis died Sunday, February 10, 2002 at his home.
He was a farm equipment mechanic and charter member and deacon of Victory Fellowship Church in West Memphis.
He was also an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mary A. Smith of West Memphis; one daughter, Phyllis Smith of Weatherford, Okla.; three sons, James Smith of Live Oak, Fla., Michael Smith of Marion and Dewey Smith of West Memphis; one sister, Gladys Southerland of Heber Springs; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis.
Burial was at Tyronza Cemetery.
Thelma Juanita Ruthven
Thelma Juanita Ruthven, 67, of Marked Tree died Friday, Aug. 29, 2003 at Regional Medical Center of NEA.
She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Marked Tree.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Ruthven and Larry Wayne Ruthven, both of Marked Tree; nine grandchildren, William Christopher Ruthven, Dustin Wayne Ruthven, William Cord Needler, Lisa Marie Ruthven, Richard Lee Ruthven, Christy Ann Ruthven, Jenni Lynn Ruthven, Scotty Needler and Hubert Dewayne Ruthven; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Ruthven, and her parents, Jesse Lee and Samantha Jackson.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2 at Central Baptist Church, with Chad Stoddard and Jerry Harmon officiating.
Burial followed in Potter Memorial Cemetery at Lepanto.
Active pallbearers were William Ruthven, Dustin Ruthven, William Needler, Scotty Needler, James Frans and Tommy Champion.
Honorary pallbearers included Danny Johnson, James Kemp, Bruce Simmons, Michael Champion, Franky Frans, Dale Adamson and Richard Lee Ruthven.
Visitation was held Monday at Murphy Funeral Home in Marked Tree.

James E. Steen
James E. Steen, 77, of Trumann died Wednesday Feb. 9, 2002 at Regional Medical Center of Northeast Arkansas.
Steen was born on Sept. 8, 1924 in Corinth, MS.
He is survived by his wife, Beulah Steen, of the home; seven sons, Boyd Steen, Randy Steen, Houston Hamilton, all of Trumann, Junior Steen, Jonesboro, Johnny Hamilton, Dayton, TN, Rickey Hamilton, Florida, Frankie Hamilton, North Carolina; three daughters, Joyce Blagg, Mary Mae Acker, Patsy Simpson, all of Trumann; six brothers, Carlton Steen, Tyronza, Burton Steen, Illinois, Wayne Steen, Kenneth Steen, both of Marked Tree, Hayes Steen, Alabama, J.W. Steen, West Memphis; one sister, Lucille Key of Little Rock; 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday Feb. 12 from 5 - 8 p.m. at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday Feb. 13 at Roller-Farmers Union Chapel at 1 p.m. with Minister Chad Graves officiating.
Pallbearers are Clay Hamilton, Tommy Lauderdale, David Rogers, Terry Moody, Ronnie Armstrong and Lloyd Bloodworth.
Carl Lee Moorman
Funeral services for Carl Lee Moorman, 78, of Lepanto, who died Sunday, July 27, 2003 at St. Bernard's Medical Center, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 30 in the chapel of Murphy Funeral Home in Lepanto.
Jim Duffel officiated, and burial followed in Potter Memorial Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Randy Jennings, Gary Jones, Tad Marshall, Greg Cole, Randall Stanford and Wade Lamb.
Honorary pallbearers included Cecil Burch, Moses Freeman and Buddy Pounders.

Pearl Singleton
Pearl Singleton, 98, of Marked Tree died Saturday, June 14, 2003 at St. Bernard's Medical Center.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and served as chief telephone operator for E. Ritter Telephone Company for 55 years.
Survivors include her son, Jim Singleton of Walnut Ridge; one sister, Vida Gongway of Marked Tree; and four grandchildren, Rocky Singleton, Lisa Boudiette, Rebecca Mayes and Patricia Elshammaa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Singleton.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at Marked Tree Cemetery, with the Rev. Joe Sparks officiating.
Murphy Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Zachary Singleton, Steven Singleton, Dewey Scott, Larry Sloan, Jasper Mayes and Charles Mayes Sr.
