Irvin Lee
Irvin "Sharp" Lee, 69, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2001.
He was a retired maintenance foreman for the Marianna Housing Authority and a lifetime member of VFW Post 449.
He is survived by his mother, Dovie Shannon of Heber Springs; two sons, Kevin and Gary Lee, both of Marianna; two daughters, Tena Dilks of Colt and Terry Broussard of Lake Charles, La.; two brothers, Ivan Joe Lee of Heber Springs and Rodger Lee of Peoria, Ill.; four sisters, Betty Sue Davis of Heber Springs, Linda Lee of Nashville, Tenn., Pat Norman and Bonnie Graham, both of Peoria; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16 at Roller-Citizens Chapel with Rev. Rodger Hooker officiating. Burial was in Marianna Memorial Park.
Roller-Citizens Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Monica Tennie
Monica Patrice Tennie, 39, of Haynes, died Wednesday, Oct. 10.
She is survived by three children, Markesha, Nikki and Carrington, all of Haynes; her mother and father, Albert and Alberta Garrett of Haynes; one sister, Cynthia Lewellen of Haynes; and one brother, Michael Garrett of Little Rock.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15 at Spring Grove M.B. Church in Haynes with Rev. Cedric Coleman officiating. Burial was in Casteel Cemetery in Forrest City.
Marianna Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Clarence Glaspie
Funeral services for Clarence K. Glaspie, 50, of Chicogo, formerly of Haynes, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Union M.B. Church in Haynes. Burial was in Clayhill Cemetery in Haynes with Rev. O.B. Brown officiating.
Marianna Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth Hampton
Elizabeth Benton Hampton, 92, of Little Rock, formerly a long-time resident of Marianna, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001.
She was married to Eugene G. Hampton, who preceded her in death in 1972.
She is survived by a daughter, Marie Gentry of Little Rock; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 at Marianna Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to St. Jude's or the First Presbyterian Church in Marianna.

Charles Grandberry
Charles Lee Grandberry, 68, of Haynes, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001.
He was a carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Grandberry; three daughters, Norma Tinsie and Louise Grandberry Jr. of Forrest City, and Florence Jackson of Little Rock; four sons, Richard Grandberry and Bruce Grandberry, both of Boston, Mass., Charles Grandberry of Haynes, and Victor Grandberry of Philadelphia, Pa.; three sisters, Gloria Wilson and Eva Wilson, both of Haynes, and Lola James of St. Louis, Mo.; four brothers, Robert Grandberry of Forrest City, and Donald, Fred and Allen Grandberry, all of St. Louis, Mo.; 14 grandchildren and six grat-grandchildren.
Services were held at 12 noon Saturday, Dec. 8 at Spring Grove M.B. Church with Rev. C. Coleman officiating. burial was in Casteel Cemetery.
J.E. Kennedy Funeral Home of Forrest City was in charge of arrangements.

Elton Williams
Elton Williams Sr., 90, of Forrest City, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002.
He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Carline Williams; five daughters, Cornelia Durham of Memphis, Ernestine Hunter of Bollingbrook, Ill., Christine Wyett of Bellwood, Ill., Earline Smith of Jonesboro and Arline Mobley of Forrest City; two sons, Elton Williams Jr. of Barton and Edward Williams of Alarton, Ill.' two sisters, Mary Lee Kennedy of Forrest City and Mary Watkins Jones of Memphis; four brothers, Ceroy, Eddie Lee and James Watkins and Joe H. Watkins of Memphis; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at Beth Salem M.B. Church with Rev. V. Faulkner officiating. Burial was in Casteel Cemetery.
J.E. Kennedy Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

John Graham
John Sidney "Johnny" Graham, 45, of Oneida, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002 at the Med in Memphis of injuries as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born Feb. 29, 1956 to Joe Elwood Graham and Helen Randal Graham.
Survivors include his father of Oneida; the mother of his son, Susan Duram of Lexa; his son, John Richard Graham of Lexa; seven brothers, Joe Graham of Oneida, Willie Graham of Batesville, Allen Ray "Buddy" Graham of Montrose, Herbie Graham of Indian Bay, Jerry Graham of Cherry Valley, Billy Graham of Rena Lara, Miss., and Bobby Graham of Holly Grove; seven sisters, Alive Faye Anderson and Mary Smith of Marianna, Imogene Watkins of Gill, Marie Ables of Oneida, Jackie Graham of Gill, Judy Wood of Snow Lake, Miss. and Carolyn Ables of Grenada, Miss.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22 at Morgan Chapel in Forrest City with Bro. Harold Danley officiating. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery at West Helena under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.

Melvin Campbell
Melvin Campbell Sr., 80, died Sunday, Jan. 20 at the V.A. Hospital in Little Rock.
He is survived by his wife, Florida Campbell; four daughters, Lora Campbell Duffy of Little Rock, Francine Walker of DeSoto, Texas, Deborah Bland of Helena and Sandra Hadden of Garland, Texas; six sons, Ralph Campbell of Boca Raton, Fla., Regional Campbell of Cleveland, Ohio, Jerome Campbell of Kansas City Mo., Melvin Campbell Jr. of North Little Rock, Malyce Campbell of Little Rock and Rodney Campbell of Cedar Fall, Texas; one sister, Bessie Livingston of Cleveland, Ohio; two brothers, Eddie Campbell of Marianna and Marion Campbell of Cleveland, Ohio; 28 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25 in Kennedy Chapel in Marianna. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie King officiating. Burial will be in Paradise Garden Cemetery.

Eloise King
Eloise B. King of Elko, Nev. died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002 in Elko General Hospital. She was a former resident of Moro and the daughter of the late Charles H. and Ora Lee Bowman.
She is survived by her husband, Ben F. King of the home; one daughter, Martha Jean Armstrong of Riverside, Calif.; one son, James King, of Salt Lake City, Utah; six sisters, Frances Burress and Noma Faye Wilson of Moro, Joan Raley and Doris Keasler of Marianna, Mabel Moseley of Stuttgart, and Carrie Sue Lewis of El Dorado; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Final arrangements were handled by Eldo Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Oak Grove Cemetery of Moro, c/o Virgil Guynes, 72368, or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Dorothy Berry

Dorothy Berry, 77, died Wednesday, April 11 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

She is survived by six daughters, Nancy Drinker of Holly Grove, Minnie Dugas of Houston, Juanita McElrath of Alexandria City, Ala., Wanda Colbert of Moreno Valley, Calif., Judy Berry-Davis of Atlanta, Ga. and Oda Ray Berry of Frisco City, Ala.; six sons, Rufus Berry of Seattle, Wash., Amos Berry of Marianna, T.B. Berry of Monroeville, Ala., William Berry of Alta Mar Springs, Fla., Larry Berry of Seattle, Wash. and James Berry of Pine Bluff; 34 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 21 at Bethlehem M.B. Church with Rev. E. Turner officiating. Burial was in Isreal Chapel Cemetery.

Marianna Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

William Walker

William Robert Walker, 73, of Benton, died Monday, April 23.

He was born in Moro and was a retired farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Arnett Walker of Benton; two sons, Bobby Gene Walker of Benton and Floyd Junior Walker of Little Rock; a daughter, Wilma Lee Baker of Blum, Texas; four half-brothers, Jim Walker of Colorado, Harvey Walker of Brinkley, Lonnie Gene Parson of Searcy and Floyd Parson of Moro; two step-brothers, Glen Parson and Bill Parson, both of Moro; four half-sisters, Estelle Lilly of Helena, Pearlie Mae Wooten of Brinkley, and Louise Compton and Jewell Fay Bowman, both of Moro; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 26 at Northside Church of Christ in Benton. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 27 at the Moro Church of God with Rev. Orville Wilson officiating. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Moro.

Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home of Brinkley was in charge of arrangements.

Hattie Henry

Hattie M. Henry, 97, died Monday, April 23 in Aubrey.

She is survived by her sister, Coreaner Hick, and her sister-in-law, Maggie Henry, both of Aubrey.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28 at Antioch M.B. Church with Rev. Hal Johnson officiating. Burial was in Antioch Church Cemetery in Aubrey.

Marianna Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Myrtle Fowler

Myrtle Fowler, 96, died Saturday, April 28 at Crestpark Nursing Home in Marianna.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Fowler of Marianna and Billy Fowler of LaGrange; a daughter, Mary Nell Dilks of Marianna; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 30 at Roller-Citizens Chapel with Rev. Rodger Hooker officiating. Burial was in LaGrange Cemetery.

Roller-Citizens Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Shyterria Lawson

Shyterria Desiree' Lawson, 10, died Tuesday, April 17.

She attended school at Ronald E. McNair in Dallas, Texas where she was an A and B Honor Roll student. She had attended Strong Elementary School in Marianna.

She is survived by her parents, Shunta Oliver and Darrell Lawson; two brothers, Darrell Lawson, Jr. and Damarius Lawson; grandparents, Shirley and Jimmy Harris, Dianne and Donny Robinson, Bernard Drakes; great-grandparents, Rodell Oliver and Shirley Davis, Mable and Jessie Lawson; great-great grandmother, Alberta Lewis.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 25 at Beginners Baptist Church in Dallas with Rev. Kenneth Pace officiating.

Golden Gate Funeral Home of Dallas was in charge of arrangements.

Marvie Lewellen

Marvie Kay Lewellen, 41, died Sunday, April 22 at Methodist Hospital in Memphis.

She was a 1976 graduate of Lee High School, attended Arkansas State University and was employed by the Arkansas Department of Correction.

She is survived by four sons, Michael, Marcus, Marco and Marshall Lewellen; two brothers, Roy "Bill" Lewellen, Jr. of Marianna and Anthony Lewellen of St. Louis, Mo.; and two sisters, Ernestene Qualls of Chicago and Annette Lewellen of Sherwood.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28 at Lee High School Auditorium with Rev. Tony Lewellen officiating. Burial was in Paradise Gardens in Edmondson.

Marianna Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
