Peggy Sharp
Peggy C. Sharp, 64, of Yellville died Tuesday, August 22, 2000.
She was born Dec. 15, 1935, in Oppelo, a daughter of Ervin and Juanita Rudkin. She was a member of the Yellville First Baptist Church, Christian Women Society, Yellville First Baptist Heart-to-Heart Organization, Sunday School teacher, and LifeLine Baptist Church in Mabelvale.
Survivors include her husband, R.J. “Bob” Sharp; one son, Michael A. “Tony” Sharp, of Fontana, Calif.; one daughter, Robyn Archey, of Yellville; three brothers, Bill Rudkin of Mabelvale, Bryon Rudkin of Brazoria, Texas, and Randy Rudkin of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Yellville First Baptist Church by the Rev. Bill Philliben and the Rev. Tim Cypert. Burial will be at Layton Cemetery by Burns Funeral Home, Inc.
Pallbearers will be Jake Sharp, Chris Kruse, Jeff Kruse, Derek Rudkin, Chris Rudkin, and Greg Rudkin. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Sharp, Steve Archey, and David Jones. Memorials may be made to Yellville First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 466, Yellville, Ark. 72687, or the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be tonight (Wednesday), 6 to 8 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home in Yellville.
William Cooksey
William “Ben” Cooksey, 77, of Morrilton, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000.
Born on March 5, 1923, in Atkins, he was the son of Enoch Cooksey and Bessie Laycook Cooksey. He was a member of the Downtown Church of Christ and a World War II Army veteran. He was retired from Crompton Mills and a retired school bus driver, having worked for 15 years for the South Conway County School District.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Stroud Cooksey; three sons, Randall Cooksey of Atkins, Joe Cooksey of Conway, and Terry Cooksey of Morrilton; three sisters, Brownie Randizzo of North Andover, Mass., Lorene Nottoli of Chicago, and Jewell Railey of Little Rock; two brothers, Bervin Cooksey and Albert Ray Cooksey, both of Atkins; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday at the Downtown Church of Christ with Mickey Burleson and Craig Shackleford officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery by Bob Neal and Sons Morrilton Funeral Service.
Otis Golden
Otis Donald “Don” Golden, 50, of Perry, died Thursday, August 17, 2000. He was an Air Force veteran, a charter member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church and was employed by Sheridan Hardware.
He was born on June 3, 1950, in Fordyce, a son of Otis Golden and Cora Louise Dean Golden.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Pevey Golden; two sons, Eric Golden of Tucson, Ariz., and Allen Casteel of Sheridan; one daughter, Stephanie Casteel of Sheridan; one brother, Dearl Golden of Mabelvale; one sister, Sherry Matthews of Phoeniz, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, 10 a.m., at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Morrilton. Burial was in Orion Cemetery in Sheridan. Service and arrangements were by Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home, Morrilton.
Edmond Eddy
Edmond Leon Eddy, 25, of Oppelo died Friday, Aug. 18, 2000. He was born in Little Rock on March 1, 1975, to Alvin and Edna Wood Eddy. He worked as a foreman for Old Piney Builders in Morrilton.
Survivors include two sons, Brandon Eddy and Jacob Eddy of Oppelo; parents, Alvin and Edna Eddy of Oppelo; three brothers, Franklin Eddy of Oppelo, James Grimes of Perry, and Alvin Eddy Jr. of Camden, Tenn., and one sister, Wanda Gunther of New Dixie.
Graveside service will be 9 a.m. Thursday at Harper Cemetery in Perryville. Service and arrangements are by Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home, Morrilton.
Ronnie Hilburn
Ronnie Cleo Hilburn, age 56, of Morrilton, Arkansas, died Sunday, August 20, 2000.
He was born December 17, 1943, in Perryville, Arkansas, a son of Ernest Hilburn and Ethel Munn Hilburn. Mr. Hilburn was an Army Vietnam veteran and worked for Klaasmeyer Construction.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Bradley Hilburn; daughter, Rhonda Hilburn of Morrilton; brother, Arthur “Art” Hilburn of Plumerville, and grandson, Nicholas Hilburn of Morrilton.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 22, at the Harris Chapel with Bro. Stanley Wallace officiating. Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Pallbearers were Paul Hudspeth, Roger Rhoads, Charles Hall, Eddie Waterman, Thomas Eoff, and David Burgin. Honorary pallbearers were Stan Joyner, Gene Klaasmeyer, Kenneth Rhoades, and Ray Lee McKown.
Randall Butler
Randall Howell Butler, 50, of Lake Bluff, Ill., formerly of Arkansas, died August 17, 2000.
He was born Jan. 7, 1950, in Morrilton, a son of R.H. “Sloke” and Marie Howell Butler. He was executive director of sales operations for Searle Pharmaceuticals/Pharmacia. He was president of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity at the University of Arkansas in 1970. Mr. Butler served on the Board of Directors on River-fest, Inc., Little Rock, was a sponsor of Ducks Unlimited, and editor of the Arkansas Traveler magazine.
Other than his mother, survivors include his wife, Linda Howell Koehler Butler; three daughters, Jennifer Butler Milwee of Philadelphia, Pa., Shannon Elizabeth Butler of Washington, D.C., and Marian Marie Koehler of Lake Bluff, Ill.; a son-in-law, John Milwee of Philadelphia, Pa., and one sister, Brenda Kay Butler Harrison of Morrilton.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2000, at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 400 E. Westminster, Lake Forest, Ill. A second memorial service was held 11 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, at the Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 17th and Spring, Little Rock, Ark. A memorial visitation was held Monday, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Osam, 50 Chenal Circle, Little Rock.

Rev. Willis Brothers
The Rev. Willis Brothers, age 78, of Houston, Arkansas, pastor of Ada Valley Community Church went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 21, 2000.
He pastored at Houston Assembly of God for 14 years as well as Union Assembly of God in Paris, White Oak Assembly of God in Bearden, Dumas First Assembly of God, Star City First Assembly of God, Bauxite First Assembly of God, and Oak Grove Assembly of God in Urbana. He has been in full-time ministry for 51 years.
Bro. Willis is survived by his loving wife, Mildred, of 58 years. He is also survived by three sons, Douglas Brothers of Houston, Donnie Brothers (Beverly) of Conway, Dalton Brothers (Susanne) of Bryant, and one daughter, Delores Cain of Houston. He was blessed with nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Florie Pyles of Harvey.
He has touched many lives during his long ministry and is now receiving his heavenly rewards.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. today (Wednesday), August 23, at Houston Assembly of God with Bro. Buddy Wroten, Bro. Don Borland, Bro. Floyd Williams, Bro. Stan Wallace, Bro. Clay Stubbs, and Bro. John Chapman officiating. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 24, at Monroe Cemetery in Harvey, Arkansas. Arrangements by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Pallbearers will be Buford Gipson, Dewayne Williams, Bobby Lawson, Bill Hill, Harold Simmons, and Dale Birdwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Oliver Lawson and Guy Paul Vaught.
Ruth Lyda Harrison Bales
Ruth Lyda Harrison Bales, age 75, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 16, 2003. She was born on December 18, 1927 in the Melrose Community south of Lockesburg, Arkansas. Preceding her in death were her parents, Robert Roy Harrison and Lucy Jane Hull Harrison, and her husband, Robert H. "Bob" Bales.
Ruth graduated from Lockesburg High School and attended Henderson State Teachers College and Southern State College. She was a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. In later years she worked for Cherokee Carpet Mills and Falcon Industries in Lewisville, and was retired from the Stamps Public Library where she was the librarian.
Ruth, as well as her husband, was very active in the American Legion. She held posts at both the local and district levels, and was the first woman elected commander of the local American Legion, Carlton-Devanie Post #49.
Ruth is survived by: a son, John Robert Bales of Dallas, TX; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Ann and Larry Perry of Lewisville, AR; three grandchildren, Dawn Brazell Nottingham, Heather Denise Brazell, and Bruce Tyler Perry; one great granddaughter, Carolyn Grace Nottingham; a brother, Robert Harvel Harrison of Little Rock, AR; two sisters-in-law, Josephine Y. Harrison of Lewisville and Alice B. Bales of Baraboo, WI; three nephews, four nieces, eight great nieces, two great nephews, and several cousins and other relatives.
Ruth requested that her remains be cremated. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
