Clarence Ray Young
Clarence Ray Young, age 78, of Bradley died Friday, April 30, 2004 at his home. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bradley, a retired CPA and a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Young was born in Plain Dealing, Louisiana on February 13, 1926.
Survivors include: his wife, Betty DeLony Young of Bradley; one son, Andy & Denise Delony of Shreveport, LA; three daughters, Ladonna & John Thomason of Brazoria, TX, Lenna & John Taylor of Springhill, LA and Lee Ann & Jerry Lane of Grinnell, IA; one brother, Preston & Azele Young of Bradley; one sister, Lily Belle & Bob Mixon of Temple, TX; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 2, 2004 at the First Baptist Church of Bradley with Bro. Paul Burkhalter officiating and burial in the Walnut Hill Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Stamps, AR.
Billie Jo Hinds
Billie Jo Hinds, age 68, of Bradley, Arkansas died Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at Willis Knighton Hospital in Bossier City, Louisiana. She was born March 30, 1936 in Bradley. Mrs. Hinds was a retail grocery clerk and a member of The Bradley Baptist Church.
She is survived by: her husband Clarence Hinds of Bradley; three daughters & sons-in-law, Peggy & Bobby Brackman, Debra Matte, and Kay & David Hall, all of Bradley; one son & daughter-in-law, Allan & Geyna Hinds of Bradley; mother, Celia Mae Lee of Stamps, AR; one sister, Esterree Alford of Bradley; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 1, 2004 at The Stateline Baptist Church with the Rev. Earl Taylor and Rev. Keith Dodson officiating and burial in The Stateline Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps, AR.
Virginia Emaline Stidham
Virginia Emaline Stidham, age 58, of Bradley, Arkansas died Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at her home. She was a member of the Bradley Baptist Church. Miss Stidham was born May 8, 1945 in Bradley.
Survivors include: one brother, Glynn Newton of Lewisville, AR; two sisters, Jessie Caskey and Edith Jones, both of Taylor, AR; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 29, 2004 at the Bradley Baptist Church with Bro. Paul Burkhalter officiating and burial in the Walnut Hill Cemetery under the directino of Smith Funeral Home of Stamps.
Stanford Austin
Stanford Sweeden Austin, 81, of Atkins died on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2000.
He was born in Atkins, a son of Meritt Young and Betty Sweeden Austin. He was a former city councilman, president of Atkins Riding Club, a 32nd degree Mason, Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of Bell’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Don Austin and Roger Andrews Austin, both of Atkins; three sisters, Billie Murdoch of Duncan, Okla., Bessie Collins of Talihina, Okla., and Betty Ann Copeland of Palestine, Texas; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Monday at Lemley Funeral Home by the Rev. David Bishop. Burial was at Atkins City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jerry Don Barrett, Jim Wright, Jim McGee, Willie Harvill, Mitch Casto, and Jimmy Casto. Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Austin, Terry Ewell, Tim Younger, “Red” Kimberlin, Ted Sweeden, Elmo Bizzell, Gerald Davis, Danny May, and members of the Atkins Masonic Lodge.

Clara Greer
Clara Batson Greer, 86, of Oxford died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000.
She was born Feb. 4, 1914, in Morrilton, a daughter of Robert and Ada Williams Baston. Mrs. Greer was the widow of Harmon Greer and a member of the Oxford Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Bill W. Greer of Horseshoe Bend and Robert G. Greer of Keller, Texas; three daughters, Katherine Byers of Colona, Ill., Midge Peterson of Parchman, Miss., and Janet Holt of Oxford; one sister, Rheba Cates of Little Rock; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Harris Chapel with Mr. Mickey Burleson officiating. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Pallbearers will be Steven Estabrook, Harvey Bufford, C.W. “Dub” Williams, Gregg Williams, David Williams, and Wayne Jones.
Dr. Rocco DeSalvo
Dr. Rocco Joseph DeSalvo, 96, of Waskom, Texas, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000.
He was born Nov. 11, 1903, in Center Ridge, a son of Luke and Beatrice DeSalvo. He was the widower of Josephine Burks and Cecelia Ferricher. He retired from the Amarillo, Texas, Independent School District as teacher and administrator. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, life member of the Elks Lodge No. 923, member of the Moose Lodge No. 2239 in Shreveport, La., member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1422 fourth-degree in Mar-shall, life member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association, and life member of the Texas School Food Service Association.
Survivors include one daughter, Beatrice Oliver of Waskom, Texas; one grandson, and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial service was Oct. 12 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Kurian officiating, along with the Knights of Colum-bus of Marshall. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held Oct. 14 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Center Ridge. Local arrangements were by Sullivan Funeral Home of Marshall, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Youth Scholarship Fund at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Waskom, Texas.
Lee Edwards
Lee A. Edwards, 63, of Conway died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000.
He was born Nov. 22, 1936, in Conway, a son of George Thomp-son and Odessa Arnold Edwards. He was a retired nurse and Air Force veteran. He attended Zion Temple Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Emmer Jean Clemons Edwards; one son, Lee Edwards Jr. of Conway; three daughters, Carolyn Anderson of Rockhill, S.C., Barbara Trezvant and Regina Acklin, both of Con-way; one brother, Larry Blakley of Conway, and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Temple Church of God in Christ by Elder Frank Anderson Jr. Burial will be at Robinson Cemetery by Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home, Morrilton.
Family visitation is 2 to 6 p.m. Friday at Acklin Funeral Home.
U.V. Housley
U.V. “Pete” Housley, 79, of Atkins died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000.
He was born Sept. 12, 1921, in Belleville, the son of Willie and Clara Rector Housley. He was raised by Mr. and Mrs. G.L. Rector. He was retired from Morton Frozen Foods. He was a Navy veteran. Mr. Housley attended Friendship Primitive Baptist Church at Scranton, and was a member of the Atkins Lodge No. 172, the Hector Lodge No. 497, a 32nd Degree Mason, Royal Arch, past Master at Atkins, and past Worthy Patron of Atkins Chapter No. 512 of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include his wife, Reva Bowden Housley; two sons, William Housley of DeKalb, Miss., and James E. Housley of Hector; one daughter, Patsy Duvall of Atkins; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are today (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. at Lemley Funeral Chapel in Atkins by Elder H.D. Fulmer. Burial will be at Atkins City Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
Pallbearers will be Roger Owen, Gary Turner, Don Ezell, Dale Mallett, Ray Owen, and Ragon Strawn. Honorary pallbearers will be Burl Trigg, Marvin Spicer and Tom Wald.
