Joeph R. "Joe" Myers, 59, of Moro, died Wednesday, July 4, 2001.
He was a sales representative for the Delta Grain in Clarendon, was past owner-manager of Myers Ford Tractor in Marianna.
Mr. Myers married Faye White in 1975, and she survives him along with one daughter, Mandy Faye Myers of Moro; one step-son, William F. Curtis III of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; one step-daughter, Merry Elizabeth Curtis of Ft. Collins, Colo.; his mother, Billie Myers of Carlisle; two brothers, Dr. Richard Myers of Springfield, Mo. and Chuck Myers of Carlisle; and one sister, Sherry Williams of Lepanto.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 7 at Marianna Memorial Park.

Amy Elise Wilson
Funeral services for Amy Elise Wilson, age 9, daughter of Cheryl and Keith Wilson of Cordova, Tenn., former residents of Lee County, were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3 at Memphis Funeral Home.
She also leaves one brother, Andy, of the home; her maternal grandmother, Martha Burford of Memphis; and her paternal grandparents, Bill and Nonnie Wilson of Moro.
Interment was in Memory Hill Gardens Cemetery. Memorials are being made to the Batten Disease Foundation.
Constance Obsitnik
Constance Obsitnik, 78, of Maumelle, died Thrusday, June 28, 2001.
She was a secretary with Riley's Oak Hill Manor until retiring in 1996. During the 1960's she was a member of the Panel of American Women, a group that spoke around the state on racial and religious prejudice. A son, Lawrence W. (Buzzy) Obsitnik, preceded her in death.
Survivors include four daughters, Diane Deal of Hot Springs, Debbie Manasco of Marianna, Donna Mayeauz of New Orleans, Georgeanne Obsitnik of Little Rock; one brother, Donald Stansell of Tulsa Okla.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 2 at Forest Hills Memorial Park.

Ella Barman
Ella Murl Barman, 79, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at St. Joseph Nursing Home in Brinkley.
She is survived by a son, Bill Barman of Scottsville, Ky.; two daughters, Irene Russell of Gill and Terri Lynn Barman of Moro; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Blue Barman, a son, Gilbert Barman, and a daughter, Elizabeth Graham.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 14 at Moro Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Jones and Rev. Walter Gillenwater officiating. Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery in Moro.

Bennie Lanes
Bennie David Lanes, Sr., 81, died Wednesday, June 13, 2001 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
He was employed by the Marianna Water Department for 41 1/2 years.
He is survived by seven sons, Bennie Lanes, Jr. of East Providence, R.I., Johnny B. Lanes of Marianna, Oscar L. Patton and Derrick "Terry" Patton of St. Louis, Mo., Larry G. Lanes of Little Rock, Michael J. Hutchins, Sr. and Jerry D. Hutchins of Oklahoma City, Okla.; six daughters, Quilla M. Lanes of North Little Rock, Charlene Lanes-Bazile of Fayetteville, Lenora Patton-Mason of Waterbury, Ct., Christine L. Smith, Carolyn A. Hill and Teresa M. Hutchins, all of Marianna; 30 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 18 at Paradise M.B. Church with Rev. E.H. Garrett officiating. Burial was in Pilgrim Cemetery.

Willie Ellis
Willie Ellis, 80, of Forrest City, died Sunday, June 10, 2001 at the V.A. Hospital in Memphis.
He is survived by two sisters-in-law, Clara Ellis of Chicago and Elza Ellis of Stuttgart.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnetta Bond Ellis and a daughter, Cheryl.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16 at Cornerstone M.B. Church in Madison with Rev. Leon Sims, Jr. officiating. Burial was in Paradise Gardens Cemetery in Edmondson.

Karen Yarbrough
Karen Lynette Yarbrough of West Helena, 34, died Thursday, June 21, 2001.
Originally from Marianna, she was employed as a sales representative for Family Manufactured Homes of West Helena. She was a former resident of Madison, Kansas, where she was an EMT for Greenwood County. She also served as a social activities director for Madison Manor.
She is survived by her son, Michael Aaron Brown, 15, of Madison; her daughter, Aasha Rae Brown, 12, of Madison; her mother, Mauvene Yarbrough of Marianna; and a sister, Doris Collins James of Forrest City.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Yarbrough, Jr. and a brother, Mark Lynn Yarbrough.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 27 at the chapel of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Marianna with the Rev. Kenneth Walls officiating. Burial was in FisherCemetery in Fisher under the direction of Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Henry of Chicago; two sons, Larry Henry of St. Louis, Mo. and Vernon Davis of Detroit, Mich.; three daughters, Debra Taylor of St. Louis, Melanie Henry and Marshall Martin of Chicago; two sisters, Carrie Brown of Marianna and Louvenia Barnes of Aubrey; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A sister, Naomi Foreman, preceded him in death.
Services were held at 12 noon Saturday, June 23 at Antioch M.B. church in Aubrey with Rev. Larry Henry officiating. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery in Aubrey.

Lenion Amerine, Sr., 68, died Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City.
He was retired from Woodruff Electric Company.
Survivors include his wife, Delois Forney Amerine; six children, Lenion Amerine, Jr. of Pine Bluff, Benjamin Amerine of Pine Bluff, James Amerine and Kelvin Amerine of Jacksonville, Lennette Amerine Woods of Little Rock, and Karen Amerine of Michigan; one sister, Gladys Amerine of Missouri; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 11 at Walnut Grove M.B. Church with Rev. Lee E. Eggerson, Jr. officiating. Burial was in St. Paul Cemetery.

Naomi Helen Theime Staton, 69, died Monday, June 18, 2001 at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock.
She was a retired seamstress and a member of the Haynes Baptist Church
She is survived by her husband, Rubin Staton of Marianna; two daughters, Gloria Shepherd of Marianna and Cheryl Young of Camden, Tenn.; five brothers, Herbert Thieme of Osceola, William Thieme, Don Thieme and Mark Thieme of Marianna and Otto Thieme of Palestine; two sisters, Faye Dean Husky of Kosciusko, Miss. and Rosa Lee DeAngelo of Yazoo, Miss; and three grandchildren.
Services were held at 1 p.m Wednesday, June 20 at Haynes Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Graig officiating. Burial was in Marianna Memorial Park with Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home of Brinkley in charge of arrangements.

Jesse Cross, Sr., 89, of Haynes, died Sunday, June 10, 2001
He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Junniest; three daughters, Brooxine Green and Claudette Clay of Forrest City and Shirley Nelms of Memphis; two sons, Ulysses Cross of Haynes and John Cross of Memphis; two brothers, Dr. Edward B Cross of Charlotte, N.C. and Rev. John H. Cross of Decator, Ga.; 27 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16 at Spring Grove M.B. Church in Haynes with Rev. Ossie Thomas officiating. Burial was in Casteel Cemetery.

Helen Bennett
Helen E. McCurley Bennett, 71, of Colt, died Monday, June 18, 2001.
She is survived by her husband, Albert Bennett, Jr. of the home; her mother, Nora Parke of Forrest City; three sons, Harold Bennett of Caldwell, Larry Bennett and Howard Bennett, both of Forrest City; three daughters, Patricia Garrett of Colt, Rhonda Gregory of Luling, La. and Yvonne Crossen of Mesquite, Texas; two brothers, Tony McCurley, Jr. and Paul Parke, both of Forrest City; two sisters, Eloise Rice and Juanita Jountz of Illinois; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, one brother, one sister and a son, Lester Bennett.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 20 at Caldwell Baptist Church with Bro. Gary Thomas officiating. Burial was at Hughes Cemetery under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.
Bonnie Graham
Bonnie Lynn Graham, 50 died Wednesday, May 30, 2001 in Jonesboro.
She is survived by her husband, Garry Graham, Sr. of Marianna; a son Garry Graham, Jr. of Wynne; a daughter, Bippy Eaton of Benoit, Miss.; her mother, Alma Hopkins of West Helena; a sister, Marie Raines of West Helena; and two grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 1 at Roller-Citizens Chapel with Rev. Charles Flowers officiating. Burial was at Sunset Memorial park in West Helena.

Julian Holloway
Julian F. (Dude) Holloway, 72, of Cotter and Little Rock, died Friday, May 18, 2001.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, 1st Division, from 1948-1952 and attained the rank of staff sergeant. He fought in the battles of Chosin, the Inchon Landing, and No Gun Ri. He received many awards and commendations for his service and also won numerous medals and was selected to be a member of the Silent Drill Platoon in Washington, D.C.
He was a Baptist and was a member of the John Yancy Memorial Arkansas Chapter of the Chosin Few and a life member of the 1st Marine Division Association.
Surviving are his wife, Joan Raymond Holloway of Cotter; a sister, Rosa Mae Eason; and a brother, Theodore Holloway of Miami, Fla.
Military graveside services and burial were Tuesday, May 22 in Walnut Hill Cemetery at Cotter with the Rev. Dr. Michael Shy officiating.
Arrangements were by Roller Funeral Home of Mountain Home.
Memorials can be made to the John Yancy Memorial Arkansas Chapter of the Chosin Few of Little Rock.
Margie McClendon
Margie Lee (Scott) McClendon died Nov. 23, 2001 in Albuquerque, N.M. at the age of 83.
She is survived by her daughter, Robin Fayter; two granddaughters and two grandsons; three great-grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers.
A memorial service was held in Albuquerque on Nov. 30. Funeral services and intermenty of cremains will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 14 at the Hopewell Cemetery in the Gill Community with Rev. Randy Hall officiating.

Bulah B. Baker, 72, died May 18, 2001 at Crestpark Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Baker.
She is survived by four sisters, Verdell Farmer and Alma Banks, both of Marianna, Annie Mae Walker of Brookville, Fla. and Lottie Knox of Chicago; one brother, Kelly Hamilton, Jr. of Oakland, Calif.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Ruby Lorene Treadwell Young, 81, of Marianna, formerly of Cotton Plant, died Saturday, June 2, 2001 in Marianna.
She was a member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Cotton Plant and the widow of Blen Young.
She is survived by two sons, Wayne Young of Cotton Plant and Ron Young of Pine Bluff; one daughter, Sue Reed of Marianna; one sister, Stella Quimby of Florida; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 4 at the Cotton Plant Cemetery with Bro. D.R. Parsley officiating.
