Goldia Campbell
Goldia Campbell, 76, of Casa died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000.
A daughter of the late Ed and Ollie Cline Rainey, she was born June 26, 1924, in Perry County. She was the widow of Odell Campbell.
Survivors include a son, Melvin Campbell of Casa; two daughters, Odean Hepp and Verna Mackey, both of Russellville; one brother, Edward Rainey of Pine Bluff; seven sisters, Marilyn Gillam and Alma Lou Dorsey of Perryville, Alice Moreland of Flint, Mich., Edna Eason of Illinois, Marge Norman of Jacksonville, Norma Klamm of Perry, and Nina Sue West of Rose Creek; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, at the Shinn Chapel with Jackie Townsell and Rickey Robin-son officiating. Burial will be in the Aunt Dilly Cemetery near Casa, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
Active pallbearers will be Melvin Campbell, Rickey Mackey, Jamie Hepp, Jacky Hepp, Jimmy Hepp, Jerry Fitch, and John Fitch.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight (Wednesday) at the funeral home in Russellville.
George English
George W. English, 80, of Benton died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000.
He was born June 6, 1929, in Morrilton, a son of Alice Faye Black and Ed English. He was a member of Hickory Hill Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War II. He retired from Oliver Farm Equipment, Studebaker Automotive Division and Dodge Manufacturing Co. He was a business owner. After retirement, he returned to Morrilton and was employed by Green Thumb Inc.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Gunnels English; one daughter, Blanche A. Reed of Olathe, Kan.; two sons, George W. English Jr. and Raymond E. English Sr., both of Morrilton; two stepsons, Ralph Walton of Phoenix, Ariz., and Anthony Walton of Los Angeles, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Sharon Jackson of Little Rock; 12 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Hickory Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. Al Gill. Burial will be at Hickory Hill Cemetery by Wilson and Jarrett Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Michael Cobin, Anthony Walton, Robert Perry, Johnnie Rainey, Johnnie Carolina, and Larry Boone. Honorary pallbearers will be E.C. Vaughn, Zelemo Jesse, Jack Reed, Alford Carouther, Isaiah Jesse, and Elihue Stewart.
Howard Paul Jr.
Howard Monroe Paul Jr., 52, of Perryville died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000.
He was born Aug. 23, 1948, in Perryville, a son of Howard Monroe Paul Sr. and Dollie Rankin Paul. Mr. Paul was a real estate appraiser, a former Perry County tax assessor, and former owner of Paul’s Market. He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 238 in Perryville, a salesman for Farmer’s Fire Insurance Company, and a member of the Perryville First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Parish Paul; three daughters, Tricia Dick of Springdale, April Paul of Memphis, Tenn., and Brittany Paul of the home; four sisters, Jackie Myers and Jeanette McClenning, both of Perryville, Janice Williams of Little Rock, and Nancy Bakersmith of Centerville, Va.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Perryville Cemetery by the Rev. Horace Gray. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Perryville.
The family will receive friends tonight (Wednesday) from 6 to 7 at the funeral home in Perryville.
Willie Clemons Jr.
Willie Clemons Jr., 52, of Lawrence, Kan., died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, from injuries in a car accident in Lawrence.
He was born Jan. 6, 1948, in Morrilton, the son of Willie and Louise Barnes Clemons Sr. He was a construction worker and a custodial specialist for the University of Kansas.
Survivors include a daughter, Janie Clemons of Morrilton; five sons, Richie Clemons, Eric Clemons and Reggie Clemons, all of Morrilton, Joe Clemons and Danny Clemons, both of Lawrence, Kan.; four brothers, Charles Clemons of Kansas City, Mo., Jackie Trezvant of Little Rock, Michael Trezvant of California, and Vess Clemons of Wichita; three sisters, Nelda Craig of California, Etta Coleman of Morrilton, and Linda of Little Rock; and 17 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Mount Zion Cemetery in Morrilton.
Nancy Leach
Nancy Kathleen “Kathy” Leach, 51, of Greenbrier, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2000.
Survivors include her husband Tim Leach, formerly of Adona; one son, Jon Casey; two stepsons, Robert and Jason Leach, both of Adona; her mother, Joan Hall of Greenbrier, and two sisters.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Tuesday at Spring Hill Baptist Church, where she was a member, with burial in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation was held Monday night at the funeral home. Arrangements were by Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway.
Doc Foshee
Doc Burgess Foshee, age 87, of Morrilton died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000.
He was born December 13, 1912, in Knoxville, Arkansas, a son of Sam Foshee and Rintha Breedlove Foshee. Mr. Foshee was a retired bus driver for Conway County School District and a member of Morrilton Downtown Church of Christ.
Survivors include his son, Doyle Foshee of Atkins; his daughter-in-law, Mandy Foshee of Atkins; one brother, Raymond Foshee of Pottsville; one sister, Pauline Carter of California; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and special friend, Hazel Nation. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Hazel Foshee, his second wife, Ola Foshee, and a son, Lester “Shorty” Foshee.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, October 19, at Harris Chapel with Mr. Mickey Burleson officiating. Burial will be at Atkins City Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
The family will receive friends tonight (Wednesday), October 18, from 6 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Gertie Christy
Gertie Christy, 94, of Houston died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000.
She was born July 4, 1906, in Oklahoma, a daughter of J.F. Taylor and Ada Alexander Taylor. Mrs. Christy was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sister, Connie Pickens of Lockesburg; and two grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Antioch Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Perryville.
Morene Robb
Morene Floyd Robb, 87, of Morrilton died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000.
She was born Aug. 8, 1913, in Jonesboro, a daughter of George Cleveland Floyd and Mary Etta Isom Floyd. Mrs. Robb was the widow of Peyton Robb, a member of the Morrilton First Baptist Church, and member of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include one daughter, Anna Sue Dammon of Hattiesburg, Miss.; one sister, Autra Tunnell of Arlington, Va., and three grandsons.
Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Morrilton First Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Brown officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
The family will receive friends tonight (Wednesday) from 7-8 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Netherton, Olen Ray Fullerton, Tony Clark, Jeff Clark, Chris Clark, and Bob Allison.
