‘Dink’ Hofherr
Stephen Anton “Dink” Hofherr Jr., 58, of Conway died Monday, Aug. 13, 2001.
He was born Nov. 1, 1942, in St. Vincent, to Stephen Anton Hofherr Sr. and Mary Zimmerebner Hof-herr. He was a master plumber and owned Hofherr Plumbing. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, where he was a fourth degree Knight.
Survivors include his wife, Emogene Moix Hofherr; two sons, Dwayne Hofherr of Conway and Justin Hofherr of the home; three daughters, Chrisy Brazil, Carla Hofherr, and Becky Hofherr, all of Conway; a brother, Anton Hofherr of Cleveland; five sisters, Cecilia Hartman, Mary Jo Baughman, Gertrude Noll, and Rose Sutton, all of St Vincent, and Martha Hanke of Hendersonville, Tenn; and three grandsons.
Funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. Father Joseph Deniger, CSSp. will be the celebrant.
A rosary was said Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Moix, Danny Joe Kordsmeier, Jim Hartman, Ronnie Hartman, Brian Strack, and Jim Moix.
Memorials may be made to the St. Joseph Endowment Fund.
Ruby Ledbetter
Ruby Mildred Ruff Ledbetter, age 86, of Morrilton, Arkansas, died August 12, 2001.
She was born October 18, 1914, in Solgohachia, Arkansas, a daughter of Oscar and Dell Adams Miller. Mrs. Ledbetter was the widow of Loyd Ruff and Mack Ledbetter. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, L.W. and Jane Ruff of Morrilton and Bobby and Wanda Ruff of Jonesboro; brother and sister-in-law, Burl and Alice Miller of Aurora, Colorado; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, at Elmwood Cemetery with the Rev. William Christopher Cooper officiating. Arrangements were by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Pallbearers were Doug Ruff, Jeffrey Ruff, Greg Ruff, Scott Ruff, Justin Ruff, and Jeremy Ruff.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Morrilton.
Althea Warren
Althea Jean Powell Warren, age 68, of Perryville, Arkansas, entered into eternal life on Thursday, August 9, 2001.
She was born November 11, 1932, in Fort Valley, Virginia, a daughter of the late Kemper Claye Powell and Zola Eugenia Munch.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Everett Warren Sr. of Perryville; one son, Richard E. Warren Jr. of Perryville; two daughters, Cynthia Dawn Mooneyhan of Newport News, Virginia, and Tammy Lynn Farnam of Perryville; three sisters, Margie P. Lichliter of Fort Valley, Virginia, Margaret Burril and Irma Atkins of Luray, Virginia; one brother, Eugene Powell of Palatine, Illinois; 10 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Pamela Sue George; one grandson, Daniel Conrad Warren; two sisters and two brothers.
She volunteered her services at many activities and was a homemaker in Virginia until the family moved to Arkansas in 1971. She retired from the Perryville School District as a school bus driver and where she also served as a volunteer for many years.
She was the best momma and granny in the world and will be greatly missed.
Family visitation night will be Wednesday, August 15, 2001 from 6-8 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home in Morrilton. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. at First Assembly of God Church in Morrilton on Thursday, August 16, 2001 with the Rev. Ronnie Freeman and the Rev. Ronnie Morris officiating.
Burial will be at Deberrie Cemetery by Harris Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Bob McAllister, Larry Wilson, Don Watts, Ray Morrow, Anthony Gray and Gary Paul Tucker. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Matthew Maxey, Jon Michael Warren, William Everett French, Seth Michael Farnam, Christopher Wade Warren, Kemper Clay Farnam, Coel Everett Warren, and Jacob Yancy Farnam.
Patricia Buchanan
Patricia Eileen Moore Buchanan, 51, of Perryville died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001.
She was born Aug. 12, 1949, in Crawford, Miss., a daughter of the late D.H. Moore. Mrs. Buchanan was a member of Perryville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. William Buchanan; one son, Matthew Buchanan of Perryville; one daughter, Elizabeth Buchanan of Perryville; mother, Inez VanDevender Moore of Brooksville, Miss.; two brothers, Dennis Moore of Raleigh, N.C., and Billy Barnes of Pheba, Miss.; and one sister, Barbara Moore of Brooksville, Miss.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Thursday at Perryville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Burial was at Hope Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Perryville.
Pallbearers were Steve Collins, Mike Martin, Palmer Myers, Glen Thompson, Steve Brown, and Ernest Moore.
Memorials may be made to Perryville United Methodist Church.
Lois Carte
Lois Ester Carte, 85, of Jerusalem died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001.
She was born Dec. 25, 1915, in Prairie Grove, a daughter of Lewis Nepoleon and Minnie Lee Quinton Hodges. She was a Baptist and the widow of Lester Carte.
Survivors include one son, Derral Carte of Hattieville; one daughter, Cleta Sommers of Jerusalem; three brothers, Conrad Hodges of Ukiah, Calif., Omer Hodges of Winslow, and G.W. Hodges of Prairie Grove; two sisters, Nola Carte of Prairie Grove, and Olivie Cole of Perkins, Okla.; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and six step grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, 2 p.m., at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove by Jeff Hart. Burial was at Garrett Creek Cemetery by Luginbuel Funeral Home Inc.
Anna Dold
Anna Marguerite Thomey Dold, age 99, of Morrilton died Tuesday, August 14, 2001.
She was born June 22, 1902, in Morrilton, Arkansas, a daughter of George and Emma Thomey. Mrs. Dold was the widow of Joseph A. Dold, and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Altar Society.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 16, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Charles Thessing officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Rosary is 6:30 tonight (Wednesday) at the funeral home. Altar Society rosary is 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Mickey Powell, Carl Talley, Mike Thomey, George Thomey, Frank Hoelzeman, Herb Kordsmeier, and Robert Dale Bryant.
The family will gather at the home of Harold and Cecilia Thomey.
Edwin Dellis
Edwin Lee Dellis, 88, of Little Rock died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001.
Born July 30, 1913, in Blue Mountain, he was the son of Sybil Holmes Dellis and Oscar Dellis Sr. He graduated from Perry High School and was a veteran of the Korean conflict, where he served in the Navy in Kodiak, Alaska. His career was spent in the freight transportation business where he served as traffic manager for Reynolds Metals, Southwest Freight Lines, Barrett Roofing, and E.T.W.N.C. He served as safety director for CRT Inc. He worked as an Avon representative for 15 years and achieved Presidents Club and Honor Society awards.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of both Albert Pike Lodge and Perry Lodge. He was a past Grand Master of Albert Pike. He was a member of Grade Lodge and served as chairman of the committee hearing trials. Mr. Dellis was a member of Highland Valley United Methodist Church and the Faith Sunday School class.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Bethurem Dellis; one daughter, Caroline Howard of Little Rock; one brother, Oscar W. Dellis Jr. of Houston; one sister, Sibyl Rhodes of Harrison; three grandchildren; three step granddaughters, and two great-grandchildren.
A Masonic funeral was 2 p.m. Monday at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Chapel. The burial was at the Pinecrest Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Albert Pike Lodge.
