James Noble

James Roy Lee Noble, 85, of Conway died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003.
He was born June 11, 1917, in Mayflower, a son of Shell and Hannah Thompson Noble. He was a member of Palarm Chapel Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran. He retired from the Conway Street Department.
Names of survivors were not available.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Palarm Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. James Mackey. Burial will be at Palarm Chapel Cemetery by Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home, Conway.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday.

Jack Hatfield

Jack Conrad “Shorty” Hatfield, 63, of Perryville died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003.
He was born Aug. 22, 1939, in Perryville, a son of Jack and Marie Olles Hatfield. Mr. Hatfield was a heavy equipment operator for Lindsey Construction Co. and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Williams Hatfield; three daughters, Penny Rehm of Oppelo, Jacque Kristofik of Bigelow, and Charlotte Richardson of Little Rock; one stepson, Kevin Orr of Perry; three stepdaughters, Kim Murphy of Springfield, Mo., Kerri Shackelford of Red Oak, Texas, and Kelli Carden of Bigelow; one brother, Larry Hatfield of Bigelow; one sister, Nona Hopper of Bigelow; and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. today (Wednesday), Feb. 5, at the Perryville First Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Thompson and Bro. Mike Stanley officiating. Burial will be at Volman Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Perryville.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Rehm, Jason Rehm, Kurt Kristofik, Bret Massey, Denver Durham, Kaleb Murphy, and Devon Orr. Honorary pallbearer will be Tristen Carden.
Memorials may be made to the Relay for Life.

Billy Lucas

Billy Fred Lucas, 70, of Springfield died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003.
He was born at Martinville, on March 17, 1932, a son of Rufas Jackson Lucas and Clyde Ann Finney Lucas. He was a retired engineer for AT&T and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Martinville, and a 32nd Degree Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Weda Lucas; two sons, David Lucas of Springfield and Steve Lucas of Greenbrier; one daughter, Sharlene Mourot of Springfield; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday at the Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Morrilton. Interment will follow at the Springfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight (Wednesday) from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Services are by Bob Neal and Sons of Morrilton.

Barbara J. Rose

Barbara Joan Rose, age 57, of Texarkana, Texas died Monday, January 31, 2005 in a Houston, Texas hospital. Barbara was born July 9, 1947 in Negaunee, Michigan. She was owner/operator of Barbara's Fashions in Texarkana and Jenna's Fashions in Stamps, Arkansas. She was a member of Service Sunday School Class and Hardy memorial United Methodist Church.

She is survived by: her husband, Larry Rose of Texarkana; two sons, Chris Rose and Scott Rose of Texarkana; her mother, Stella Ark of Texarkana; four sisters, Eileen Tidwell of Texarkana, Kathy Whistle of Queen City, TX, Julie Seppanen of Michigamme, MI and Nancy Bledso of New Orleans, LA; one brother, Dale Ark of Texarkana; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Crystal and Lilly Rose; a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Garry Masterson officiating and burial in Red Lick Cemetery.

Nathan Nicholas

Nathan Nicholas, age 60, of Stamps, Arkansas died Sunday, January 30, 2005 at the Magnolia Hospital. He was born August 30, 1944 in Lafayette County, Arkansas. Mr. Nicholas was a Wood Craftsman, worked for Southwestern Bell for nineteen years, past member of Jaycees and a volunteer Fireman. He was preceded in death by: his mother, Murleen Nicholas; son, Thomas Edward Nicholas; wife, Frances Nicholas; and brother, Reuben Nicholas.

He is survived by: two sons & daughter-in-law, Neil Nicholas of Stamps and Wayne & Gayla Nicholas of Frisco, TX; two daughters & sons-in-law, Anna & Rick Bowman of Sumter, SC and Heather & Ronnie Creech of Stamps; father, Edward Nicholas of Stamps; brother & sister-in-law, David & June Nicholas of Stamps; sister & brother-in-law, Judy & Earl Clark of Stamps; ten grandchildren, Todd, Amber, Justin, Caylon, Cory, Drew, Nate, Joshua, Peyton & Sarah.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Bro. Todd Pickard officiating and burial in Lakeside Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.

Myrtle Pinkston

Myrtle Pinkston, age 93, of Stamps, Arkansas died Wednesday, January 19, 2005 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She was born December 19, 1911 in Camden, Arkansas. Mrs. Pinkston was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Stamps for over fifty years and would boast that she was the oldest member of the church. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Claude Pinkston; two grandsons, Jay Sutton and Billy Sutton; one great grandchild, Christopher J. Sutton.

She is survived by: one son, Charles (Buddy) Pinkston of Port Allen, LA; two daughters, Barbara Minter of Nash, TX and Edith McMaster of Arkadelphia, AR; one brother, J.B. Romack of Bossier City, LA; nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at The Smith Funeral Home in Stamps with Bro. Wayne Johnston and Bro. John Force officiating and burial in Lakeside Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.

Jane Spivey

Jane Spivey, age 62, of Buckner, Arkansas died Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at St. Michaels Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. She was born March 17, 1942 in Columbia County, Arkansas. Mrs. Spivey was a homemaker, retired from Alan White Company, a Baptist, and was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald Edward Spivey and Wayne Spivey and by her parents, George & Rosa Sneed.

She is survived by: her husband, Huey Spivey of Buckner; daughter & son-in-law, Nita & Robert Lewis of Buckner; daughter-in-law, Lesby & husband, Raymond Garland of Buckner; brother, Kenneth & Doris Sneed of Hot Springs, AR; four grandchildren, Jamie & Lonnie Teague, Jr., of Stamps, AR, Russell & Tiffany Spivey of Magnolia, AR, Jennifer Spivey of Buckner, and Steven Lewis of Buckner; two great grandchildren, Kaylie Spivey of Magnolia and Hayden Teague of Stamps.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 21, 2005 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Bro. Charles Leslie and Bro. Charlie Warren officiating and burial in Buckner Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.

Casey Lee Jones

Casey Lee Jones, age 85, of Lewisville, Arkansas died Sunday January 16, 2005 at St. Michael's Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. He was born January 18, 1919 in Lewisville. Mr. Jones was Operator of Lewisville Builders Supply and was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Jones.

He is survived by: son & daughter-in-law, Russell & Melody Jones of Lewisville; daughter & son-in-law, Pat & Jack Webb of El Dorado, AR; sister, Gladys Nations of Springs, TX; three grandchildren, Carter Jones, Jacki Webb, and Patrick Webb.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 on Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at Smith Funeral Home in Stamps with burial in Wilson Cemetery at Lewisville under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
