David Wayne Braden

David Wayne Braden, age 28, of Stamps, Arkansas died Thursday, September 29, 2005 at St. Michael's Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. He was born April 24, 1977 in Texarkana, Texas. Mr. Braden was a Deputy Transport Officer for Lafayette County Sheriff's Department, member of the Trinity Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge #121 in Stamps.

He is survived by: his parents, Mike and Donna Braden of Stamps; two sisters, Mikkie & Thomas Glasgow and Tonya & Travis Gilmer, all of Stamps; maternal grandmother, Maxine Quillin of Longview, TX; nieces and nephews, Lauren Gilmer, Katie Gilmer, Austin Glasgow, Eric Glasgow, Little Travis Gilmer, Meagan Glasgow and Zach Glasgow.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 2, 2005 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Rev. Charlie Warren and Rev. Todd Pickard officiating and burial in Holly Grove Cemetery near Hope, Arkansas under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.

Otis "Toby" E. Brown

Otis "Toby" E. Brown, age 83, of Lewisville, Arkansas died Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at St. Michael's Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. He was born November 7, 1921 in Lewisville, Arkansas. Mr. Brown was a veteran of World War II, retired from Arkansas Highway Department with forty-seven years of service and a member of the Corinth Church of Christ in Fouke, AR. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Brown and by two sons, Otis Brown, Jr., and Harvey Thomas.

He is survived by: a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby W. & Pat Thomas of Lewisville; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Tommy Maupin of Perryville, AR; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 30, 2005 at the Corinth Church of Christ in Fouke, Arkansas with Billy Ray Cutchall officiating and burial in Corinth Church of Christ Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps, AR.

Regina M. Kuykendall

Regina M. Keykendall, age 87, of St. Charles, Missouri formerly of Stamps, Arkansas died Saturday, September 17, 2005 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born July 31, 1918 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mrs. Kuykendall was a member of the Catholic Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Harry I. Kuykendall.

She is survived by: two daughters & sons-in-law, Martha & Daniel Debert and Barbara & John Martin; sister, Monica Lanham; sister-in-law, Lillian Roslawski; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives.

Graveside services were held at 9:00 am on Thursday, September 22, 2005 at Liberty Cemetery south of Stamps with Father Pyus officiating under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Stamps.

Audrey Marie Colvin

Audry Marie Colvin, age 84, of Taylor, Arkansas died Friday, September 23, 2005 at her residence. She was born November 27, 1930 in Columbia County, Arkansas. Mrs. Colvin was retired from the Bradley Public School System where she served as a cafeteria worker and bus driver. She was a member of the Forest Grove Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ether Ray Dingler Haynes, a son, David Michael Colvin and two sisters, Adelle Jordan and Ellen Hayes.

She is survived by: her husband, E.T. Colvin of Taylor; son & daughter-in-law, Larry and Patsy Colvin of Taylor; daughter-in-law, Carrie Colvin of Taylor; sister-in-law, Cassie Sanders of Taylor; six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at the Forest Grove Baptist Church at Walker Creek with Rev. Chet Johnson officiating under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.

Myra M. May

Myra M. May, age 89, of Stamps, Arkansas died Sunday, September 25, 2005 at the Medical Park Hospital in Hope, AR. She was born September 1, 1916 in Rosston, AR. Mrs. May was a homemaker, a member of the Corinth Missionary Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Earl W. May, a son, Earl W. May, Jr., and a daughter, Jo Ann Ward.

She is survived by: a son & daughter-in-law, Jackie & Martha May of Bodcaw, AR; daughter & son-in-law, Kathryn and Jack McMahan of Stamps, AR; brother-in-law, Buster May of El Dorado, AR; son-in-law, Tee Ward of Bodcaw; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at the Corinth Baptist Church at Bodcaw with Rev. Perry Purtle and Rev. Billy Russell officiating and burial in Union Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.

Maxine Burks

Maxine Burks, age 87, of Texarkana, Texas and formerly of Bradley, Arkansas, died Sunday, September 18, 2005 in Texarkana. She was born April 30, 1918 in Stamps, Arkansas. Mrs. Burks was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bradley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Burks, her mother and father, Lela and James Burke, two sisters and four brothers, all from Stamps.

Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Phil Jones of Texarkana, AR; two granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Carmen and Richard Ates of Little Rock, AR and Phyllis and Mordy Higgenbotham of Magnolia, AR; four great grandsons and two great granddaughters, Jason, Crista and Justin Mosley, Mitch and Hayden Higgenbotham, Carla Ates, Leah and Ray Johnson; two great-great grandchildren, Sidney and Weston Moseley; one sister, Emma Lee Kelly of Little Rock; one special friend, Betty Thomas. Maxine was "Aunt Dot" to many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at the First Methodist Church of Bradley officiated by Rev. Spencer Plumley. Burial was in the Walnut Hill Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.

Mellwood Mosby

Mellwood Mosby, age 75, of Bradley, Arkansas died Friday, September 15, 2005 at Springhill Medical Center in Springhill, LA. She was born January 17, 1930 in Bradley, AR. Mrs. Mosby was a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late B.F. Stone and Beulah Butting Stone.

She is survived by a brother-in-law, George Malkowsky of Bradley, AR.

Graveside services were held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 19, 2005 at Walnut Hill Cemetery at Bradley under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.

Wilda Muir

Wilda Muir, age 89, of Stamps, Arkansas died Saturday, September 10, 2005 at Shreveport, LA. She was born August 15, 1916. Mrs. Muir was a member of The Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Blythe D. Muir in 1988.

She is survived by: her son, Bruce Muir of Denver, CO; three grandchildren; and several other relatives.

Graveside services were held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 15, 2005 at Wilson Cemetery in Lewisville with Rev. John Force officiating under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps, AR.
