Arthur Gene Srebalus, Sr.
Arthur Gene Srabalus, Sr., age 63, of Buckner, Arkansas died Saturday, December 3, 2005 at the Magnolia Hospital in Magnolia, Arkansas. He was born December 6, 1941 in Chicago Heights, Illinois. Mr. Srebalus was an electrician and a construction worker. He is preceded in death by his wife, Darlene in 1996.
Survivors include: two sons, Arthur Srebalus, Jr. & wife Donna of Magnolia and Steven Srebalus & wife Cristin of Jacksonville, AR; two daughters, Jeanette Srebalus of Buckner and Sharon Srebalus of Stamps, AR; three brothers, Albert Srebalus of Lakeview, AR, Walter Srebalus of Garfield, AR, and Edward Srebalus of Sulphur Springs, TX; five grandchildren, Cavan, Leah, Madison, Heather & Caylon.
Memorial services were held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with cremains being interred in the Lakeside Cemetery in Stamps under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
Billy Shackelford
Billy Shackelford, age 71, of Stamps, Arkansas died Saturday, December 3, 2005 at the Magnolia Hospital. He was born August 24, 1934 in Waldo, Arkansas. Mr. Shackelford was retired from International Paper Mill in Springhill, Louisiana and was preceded in death by his parents, Hamp and Lucille Shackelford.
He is survived by: his wife, Jeanette Owens Shackelford of Stamps; two sons & daughters-in-law, Jerry & Stephanie Shackelford of Stamps and Kenneth Ray & Jamee Shackelford of Queen City, TX; sister, Betty Collier of Magnolia, AR; three grandchildren, Cassy Simmons of Texarkana, Brittany Shackelford of Queen City, and Magann Rae Shackelford of Stamps.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Rev. Dana Casey and Rev. Bubba Wells officiating and burial in Lakeside Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
Jesse Daniel Sanders
Jesse Daniel Sanders, age 73, of Buckner, Arkansas died Saturday, December 3, 2005 at St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. He was born January 12, 1932 in Winnfield, Louisiana. Mr. Sanders was a Mason, Justice of the Peace, Lafayette County Judge for 10 years, and County Road Foreman for Lafayette & Union Counties.
Survivors include: his wife, Joann Sanders of Buckner; two sons & daughters-in-law, Danny & Tammye Sanders of Buckner and Joe & Kathy Sanders of Stamps, AR; one brother, William Gerald Sanders of Texarkana, TX; one sister, Emma Jean Stonebreaker of Bloomfield, NM; three grandchildren, Jason Sanders, Bryan Sanders, & Brittney Sanders; one great grandchild, Jacob Sanders; several nieces & two great nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 am on Monday, December 5, 2005 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Bro. Andy Hawkins and Mickey May officiating and burial in the Shiloh Cemetery at Buckner under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
Larry Herman Henry L'Herisson
Larry Herman Henry L'Herisson, age 66, of Stamps, Arkansas died Thursday, November 24, 2005 at his residence. He was born December 9, 1938 in Stamps. Mr. L'Herisson was a retired pharmacist, a member and Elder of The First Presbyterian Church in Stamps, a Mason and a member of the Magnolia Lodge in Woodville, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Louise L'Herisson.
He is survived by: his wife, Judith L'Herisson of Stamps; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Paul Henry and Katie L'Herisson of Baton Rouge, LA, Sgt. Michael Lee and Cecil L'Herisson of Okinawa, Japan, and Mark P. L'Herisson of Stamps; daughter, Helen Rogers and husband, John, of Roundrock, TX; three grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 27, 2005 at The Lakeside Cemetery in Stamps with the Rev. Steve Casey officiating under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
Wilburn Hollis Nichols
Wilburn Hollis Nichols, 69, of Maud, TX died Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at his home. Mr. Nichols was born March 6, 1936 in Stamps, AR. He was a retired U.S. Army veteran with three tours of service in Vietnam.
Survivors include: his brother and sister-in-law, Donald R. and Peilin Nichols of Union City, CA; niece, Carolyn Lee of San Diego, CA; nephew, Ryan Lee of Irvine, CA; uncle, Melvin White of Jonesboro, AR; and friend, Hazel Dyer of Maud, TX.
Graveside services were held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at East Memorial Gardens with Rev. Royce Kinsey officiating.
Marilyn Hampton Marrapese
Marilyn Hampton Marrapese, age 72, of North Little Rock, Arkansas died Monday, November 21, 2005. She was born November 13, 1933 in Patmos, Arkansas. Mrs. Marrapese was a retired secretary for Volcraft Steel and a member of Somers Avenue Church of Christ in North Little Rock. She was the daughter of the late C.H. and Mildred Hampton.
She is survived by: one son, Richard McFadden of Evanston, WY; two daughters, Sherry Ann Withrow of Garland, TX and Lisa Cockrell of Crandall, TX; one brother, Jim Hampton of Arlington, TX; seven grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at the Wilson Cemetery in Lewisville, AR with Oran Burt officiating under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps, AR.
John E. Smith
John E. Smith, age 94, of Shreveport, Louisiana died Thursday, January 26, 2006 at the Willis Knighton Hospital in Shreveport. He was born February 1, 1911 in Monroe, Louisiana. Mr. Smith was a retired Ferry Operator with the Arkansas Highway Department and was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Smith, a son, Cecil "Bo" Smith, a daughter-in-law, Annette Smith, and by a granddaughter, Autumn Single.
He is survived by: three sons & daughters-in-law, Johnny & Clara Smith of Shreveport, William & Bonnie Smith of Bossier City, LA, and Travis & Tamic Smith of St. Cloud, FL; two daughters & sons-in-law, Nancy & Al Carter of El Sobrante, CA and Letha & Joel Tubberville of Henderson, NV; thirteen grandchildren, a number of great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 30, 2006 at the Red River Baptist Church near Gin City, Arkansas with Rev. Gerald Cheney officiating and burial in Walnut Hill Cemetery at Bradley, Arkansas under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
Sam Pierson
Sam Pierson, age 74, of Lewisville, Arkansas died Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at his residence. He was born February 10, 1931 in Bebee, Oklahoma. Mr. Pierson was a Baptist, a former Law Enforcement Officer having served as Lewisville City Marshall in 1968, Lafayette County Deputy in 1980, Lewisville Chief of Police from 1985-1998 and Lafayette County Sheriff from 2001-2002. He was a member of the Arkansas Sheriff's Association, National Association of Chiefs of Police, a Veteran of the Korean War where he was wounded and received a Purple Heart, a member of the Oklahoma National Guard 45th Division, and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by: his wife, Maebell Pierson of Lewisville; three sons, George & wife Mary Ann Pierson of Stamps, AR, John & wife Billie Joe Pierson of Stamps, and Joe & wife Sheila Pierson of Prairie Grove, AR; three daughters, Kay & husband Hoppy Higgins of Taylor, AR, Linda & husband Wayne Etue of Hope, AR, and Samantha & husband Michael Henry of Texarkana, TX; three brothers, Jimmy Milligan of Oklahoma City, OK, Doug Milligan of Clinton, OK, and Charles Milligan of Clinton, OK; four sisters, Daisy Neff, Georgia Cox and Vadia Ross, all of Stillwell, OK, and Barbara Muntz of Shawnee, OK; fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 29, 2006 at The First Baptist Church in Stamps with Rev. Russell Bailey and Rev. Scott Jones officiating and burial in Knighton's Chapel Cemetery north of Lewisville under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps, AR.
