Raymond Wootton
Raymond Wootton, age 77, of Stamps, Arkansas passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010. He was born March 29, 1932 in Stamps. He was a member of Wootton Deer Club, Stamps Masonic Lodge as a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Willisville, Arkansas. Mr. Wootton was preceded in death by: his parents, Richard & Eva Wootton; two brothers, Aubrey Wootton and Carol Lee Wootton.
He is survived by: his wife, Joyce Wootton of Stamps; two daughters, Beth McDowell & husband George of Buckner, AR and Vicky Nix of Texarkana, TX; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, numberous other relatives and lots of good friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, February 1, 2010 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Rev. Jerry Westmoreland and Rev. Jerry Pulliam officiating and burial in Shiloh Cemetery in Buckner under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Theo Formby
Theo Formby, age 77, of Patmos, Arkansas, passed away January 20, 2010, peacefully at home surrounded by family. Theo was born November 4, 1932 in Lewisville, Arkansas. He was the son of the late Narvel and Thelma Formby. Theo was a member of the Central Church of Christ. He was a 1950 graduate of Lewisville High School and a Veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired poultry farmer. Theo was an outdoorsman who loved working on his home, farm and tractors. He also enjoyed working on older model cars.
Theo and Ava Nell Honeycutt Formby were married for 57 years. He was a loving, devoted husband, father, grand and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Billy and Travis Joe Formby.
Survivors include: his wife, Ava Nell Formby of Patmos; two sons, Duane & Belinda Formby and David & Vanessa Formby; one daughter, Cheryl & Gary Lee Banks, all of Patmos; eight grandchildren, David & Evelyn Formby, Steve & Jennifer Formby, Aimie & Kyle Barnett, Jamie Smith, Fallon & John Scoggins, Amber & Jeremy Stroud, Chelsey & Dustin Mills, and Chaley & Jason Porter; ten great-grandchildren, Luke, Colt, Brooklyn, Jacob, Jessie, Madison, Westin, Maverick, Anna and Whitt.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Minister David Lynn Formby and Harold Freeman officiating and burial at Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Patmos, Arkansas.
C. P. Baker
C. P. Baker, age 80, of Stamps, Arkansas passed away on January 20, 2010. He was born May 11, 1929 to Bruce and Eva Mae Baker. He was a loving father and papaw who enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching baseball. He was a Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Baker was preceded in death by: his parents; his brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Betty Jean Baker; his nephew, Mark Baker; and his niece, Daphne Cole.
He is survived by: his wife of 41 years, Ester Beene Baker; his sons, David Paul Baker & wife Angie of Stamps and Curtis Harrison & wife Kelly of Stamps; three grandchildren, Collin Paul Baker and Lance Michael Harrison, both of Stamps and Christopher Ryan Harrison of Henderson, NV; sister, Betty Vonderlin & husband Chuck of Houston, TX; nephew, Paul Milwee and niece, Sally Milwee, both of Houston; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Bro. Ernie Sorrels officiating and burial at Lakeside Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Georgia Clara Jackson Epperson
Georgia Clara Jackson Epperson, age 78, of Buckner Arkansas died Thursday, December 10, 2009 at the Magnolia Health Care & Rehab in Magnolia, Arkansas. She was born September 8, 1931 in Lewisville, Arkansas to the late Corbin and Eva Sewell Jackson.
Mrs. Epperson lived many years in North Little Rock, Arkansas, was an employee of Timex and later retired from Dillard's Warehouse. Upon retirement, she and her husband made their home in Buckner where she enjoyed gardening and was an excellent preserver of her fruits. She also took pride in her flower garden, sharing her flowers with friends and family. She was a former member of the Bearing Cross Baptist Church in North Little Rock, became a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Stamps where she was a dedicated member of the choir and helped with vacation bible school as well as other activities of the Church. She was preceded in death by: her parents; sister & brother-in-law Margie Eunice Frady and Harold G. Frady.
She is survived by: her husband Billy J. Epperson of Buckner; daughter, Pamela Gail Epperson of Dallas, TX; son, John Brantley Epperson & wife Cindy of Yakima, WA; brother, John W. Jackson of Springhill, LA; sisters, Evelyn Bright of Stamps, AR, Mary A. Smith of Magnolia, AR and LaFrance Pate of Lewisville, AR; three grandchildren, Rebecca Epperson, Gail Epperson and David Epperson, all of Yakima, WA.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Smith Funeral Home in Stamps with Rev. Mike Turner officiating and burial in Wilson Cemetery at Lewisville under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Clara Odell McDonald
Clara Odell McDonald, age 92, of Arlington, Texas passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Hospice House in Ft. Worth, Texas. She was born April 19, 1917 to Allie and Virgie Tucker, both deceased, of Stamps, Arkansas. Mrs. McDonald was a lifetime resident of Lewisville, Arkansas until her move to Hearthstone Assisted Living in 2008. She was a homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church of Lewisville. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. One of her favorite things was having cookies to give the great-grandchildren, and soon became known as Mamaw Cookie. She was an avid gardener and loved giving her family and neighbors the fruits of her labor. Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by: her husband, Edward Earl McDonald; son-in-law, Terry Houchin; four sisters and one brother.
She is survived by: one son, Ron McDonald & wife Garnye of Lake Kiowa, TX; four daughters, Donna White & husband Bill of Garland, TX, Janice Martin & husband Freeman, of Mansfield, TX, Sheila Houchin of Arlington, TX, and Jeannie Stevens & husband Wayne of Lewisville, AR; ten grandchildren, KIim Taylor, Rick Martin, Ron White, Keith Houchin, Steve Houchin, Tara Mills, Brad Stevens, Chris Stevens, Kari Cearley and Brady Stevens; eleven great-grandchildren, Antoinette Paz de White, Joseph White, Kyle Taylor, Matt Taylor, Ben Martin, Brody Martin, Julia Houchin, Jacob Truitt, Nash Truitt, Ryder Stevens, and Ava Cearley; one sister, Bennie Jean Willis & husband Frank of Willis, TX.

David Edmund Hunter
David Edmond Hunter, 65, of Murfreesboro, Arkansas, passed away on December 7, 2009 in Murfreesboro. He was born to the late Charles Edmond and Floy May Anderson Hunter. Mr. Hunter was a self-employed electrician. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by two brothers, James Truitt Hunter and Jerry Hunter.
Survivors include: two sons, Charles Allen Hunter of Little Rock and Chase Even Hunter of Stamps; three daughters, Christi Banks & husband Tracy of Nashville, Lisa Peters & husband John of Hot Springs, and Lauren Ogle & husband Terry of Stamps; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews as well as many other relatives and friends.
Cremation was under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Dr. Ralph Boulware
Dr. Ralph Boulware of Stamps, Arkansas passed away at his home on Monday, December 7, 2009. He was born February 15, 1917 to R. T. Boulware and Vida Sanders Boulware.
Dr. Boulware graduated from Magnolia A&M.; He received his Bachelors from Oklahoma State University and completed his Doctorate from University of Nebraska. Ddr. Boulware was a Professor of Agriculture at Louisiana State University and Oklahoma State University. He was a Mason and a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the VFW. He served as president of Lakeside Cemetery Association, board member of Sardis Cemetery Association, as well as former member of Sardis Methodist Church. Dr. Boulware served on the Board of Directors of the Lafayette Conservation District and was a Veteran Pilot of WWII.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, R.T. and Vida Boulware; his brother, Robert Boulware; his wife, Leila W. Boulware.
He is survived by: his step-daughter, Robie Roller of Oklahoma; his sister-in-law, Genia Boulware of Canada; two nephews, Michael Boulware and Philip Boulware; one niece, Mary Boulware; and his step-grandchildren.
Services were held at 10:00 am on Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Walthall and Bro. Gill Sills officiating and burial at Lakeside Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Stamps.
James Walter Brown
James Walter Brown, age 51, of Stamps, Arkansas died Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the Magnolia Hospital in Magnolia, Arkansas. He was born November 22, 1957 in Yohkum, TX. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, James Louis Brown, Jr., and Emily Elizabeth Spencer Clark.
He is survived by: two sons, James Patrick Brown of El Dorado, AR and Justin Derek Brown & wife Cassie of Palm Springs, CA; one daughter, Holly Young & husband James of Montgomery, TX; four brothers, Chris Clark of Stamps, Paul Brown of Bossier City, LA, Gary Brown and David Brown, both of Bunnell, FL; sister, Debbie Cox of Springhill, AR; two grandchildren, Jeremiah Young of Montgomery, TX and (one on the way) Emily Young.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, May 8, 2009 at Lakeside Cemetery in Stamps with Rev. Charlie Warren officiating under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Stamps.
