Johnny C. (Grommie) Bonds Sr., 75, of Rondo, died Friday, July 27, 2001 at Crestpark Nursing Home in Helena.
He had been a farmer all his life.
He is survived by his wife, Etherine Bonds; three sons, Johnny C. Jr. of Little Rock, and Stanley and Calvin of Rondo; two sisters, Wilester Reese and Verba McNichols of Battle Creek, Mich.; three brothers, Willie B. of Chicago, Mossie D. of Lexa and A.D. of Battle Creek; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4 at Sequell M.B. Church in Rondo with Rev. Booker Thomas officiating. Burial as in Sequell Church Cemetery.

Levi Walker
Levi Walker, 89, of Palestine, died Monday, July 30, 2001 at Crestpark Nursing Home in Forrest City.
He is survived by two daughters, Luella Walker of Marianna and Flossy Walker of Clarksdale, Miss.; two sons, Lindon Walker of Goodwin and Sylvester Walker of Chicago; one brother, London Walker of Gill; one sister, Willetta Mathis of Forrest City; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Walker and a son, Levi Walker Jr.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5 at Antioch M.B. Church in Palestine with Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial was in Goodwin Cemetery in Goodwin.

Audria Mooneyhan
Audria Joyce Mooneyhan, 63, of Lexa, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Miss.
She was a lineworker at the Sanyo Warehouse.
She is survived by four daughters, Beth Lucero of Alamogordo, N.M., Jeannie Padilla and Leah Ann Cole of Marion and Pam Barkley of Mt. Olive, Miss.; two sons, Freddy Mooneyhan of Marion and Tim Mooneyhan of Marianna; two sisters, Betty Sullivan of Marion and Bea Jackson of Marianna; three brothers, Alvin, Ruben and Joe Lovelace, all of Marianna1; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6 at Roller Citizens Chapel with The Rev. Gene Craig officiating. Burial was in Spring Creek Cemetery in Aubrey.

Adell Nicholas
Adell Nettie Nicholas, 90, died Tuesday, July 24, 2001.
She is survived by a daughter, Gloria Brady of Marianna; a son Paul Nicholas of Brentwood Calif., three brothers, Jody Craig of Clarendon, Tommy Craig of Texarkana, Texas, and Delton Craig of Marianna; 29 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Junior Lee Nicholas and Albert Nicholas; and three daughters, Bernice Lauritzen, Ruby Smith and Lucy Gularte.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 27 at Roller-Citizens Chapel with Bro. Gene Craig officiating. Burial was in Central Cemetery in Lexa.

Earnese Mims
Earnese Coleman Mims, 57, died Wednesday July 18, 2001 at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock.
She was a teacher's aide for 23 years.
She is survived by a son, Dexter Jerome Mims Sr. of St. Louis, Mo.; her mother, Luzenia Coleman of Aubrey; two sisters, Marva Stephens of Flint, Mich. and Berthena Williamson of Detroit, Mich.; one brother, Gene Coleman of Kansas City, Mo.; and four grandchildren.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 28 at Hempshire M.B. Church in Aubry with Rev. Cecil Coleman officiating. Burial was at St. Marks Cemetery.

Everett McClintock
Dr. Everett Miller McClintock, 74, retired obstetrician and gynecologist, died Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at Hospice of Palm Beach, Fla.
Born in Marianna, he graduated from T.A. Futrall High School; attended Blair Academy in Blairstown, N.J.; received his degree from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va. and from University of Arkansas Medical School in Little Rock.
He was employed at St. Vincent's Infirmary in Little Rock and was then associated with Drs. Masters and Johnson at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., before retiring to West Palm Beach, Fla.
He served on the ship, HOPE, a mercy ship giving medical aid to the poor around the world.
Dr. McClintock is the son of the late Edith Miller McClintock and Oliver W. McClintock Jr. of Marianna.
He is survived by one brother, Oliver W. McClintock Jr. of Hickory, N.C.
The family requests any memorials be sent to Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 182, Marianna, AR 72360 where he was a member.

Charlie B. Blunt, 44, of Memphis, died Thursday, July 19, 2001 at Oakville Nursing Home.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Faye Blunt of Little Rock; his mother and stepfather, Betty J. Blunt and Lugene Carter, both of Haynes; nine sons, Charles, Tawan, Brandon, Bradley and Barry Blunt, all of Dallas, Texas, Calvin and Travis Blunt and Kelvin Dedner, all of Forrest City; and Theodore Carter of Greenwood, Miss.; five daughters, Lawanda, Lashinia Johnson and Likita McFadden, all of Dallas, and Lenora Blunt and Mary Jo Hynes, both of Forrest City; nine sisters, Norma Bell, Estella Booker and Nell Verda Brown, all of Haynes, Bertha of Chicago, Ill., Thelma, Pearlie, Velma and Bobby Blunt of Forrest City, and Betty Breathitt of Fayetteville; ten brothers, Benjamin Blunt, Ivory and L.C. Golatt of Forrest City, Samuel Blunt of Camp Shelby, Miss;, Thomas Blunt of Irving, Texas; Joseph and Samuel Golatt, both of Little Rock; and Earnest and Carl Golatt, both of Blytheville.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tawanna A. Blunt.

James Alton Roberts, 86, of Lexa, died Tuesday, July 17, 2001.
He is survived by a daughter, Betty Aston of Rondo; a sister, Mildred Greene of Benton; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Roberts.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 20 at Rondo Baptist Church with Rev. Austin Hamilton officiating. Burial was at Harris Chapel Cemetery in Wynne.

William Jordan
William Curtis Jordan, 81, of Palestine, died Monday, July 16, 2001.
Survivors include two sons, Leroy Curtis Jordan and Kenneth Jordan, both of Dublin, Calif.; one daughter, Linda Curtis of Oregon; one brother, Floyd Jordan of Forrest City; one sister, Christine Wendell of Marianna; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Lomah Williamson
Lomah E. Williamson, 86, of Clinton, died Thursday, July 19, 2001.
She was the widow of Stephen Milton Williamson.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Wilson of Marianna; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 21 at the Evergreen Addition of Graceland Cemetery in Pine Bluff with The Rev. Rick Miller officiating.

Butch Frakes
Ethridge Odell "Butch" Frakes III, 38, died at the Regional Hospital in Helena after being struck by lightning Saturday, July 21, 2001.
He was the son of Ethridge Frakes II and Linda Harpole Frakes Ashburn. He was a landscaper with Christy's Lawn Service of Helena.
Survivors include his parents; his step-father, Farrell Ashburn; his step-mother, Louise Frakes; a brother, Lance Carter of LaGrange; a sister, Angela Smith of Marianna; three half-brothers, Charlie, Todd, and Chris Frakes; and three half-sisters, Elizabeth Frakes, Melissa Howton, and Lawanda Black; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Harpole of Marianna.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 24 at the First Baptist Church with Bro. Steve Walters officiating. Burial was at Spring Creek Cemetery near Aubrey under the direction of Morgan Funeral Home.
Ottis Poindexter
Ottis Lee Poindexter, 60, of Anchorage, Alaska, died Thursday, July 12, 2001 at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage.
He attended schools and received his early education at Rondo School and Robert R. Moton in Marianna. He moved to Ancorage in 1976.
He is survived by his mother, Beatrice Johnson of Rondo; two sons, Gregory Poindexter of Anchorage and Michael Pascal of Atlanta, Ga.; one grandson, Timothy Poindexter, of Anchorage; three brothers, McKinley Johnson Jr. of Michigan City, Ind., Sevon Johnson of Marianna and Fred L. Johnson of Rondo; four sisters, Almeter Hines of Marianna, Alberta Perry and LaVern Smith of Rondo and Margaret Meeks of Tulsa, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, McKinley Johnson Sr. and one sister, Carrie Lee Tucker.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 21 at Friendship Church in Rondo with Rev. Earl Johnson officiating. Burial was in Friendship Church Cemetery.

Marjorie Campbelle, 82, of Nashville, Tenn. died Friday, June 30, 2001 at Cumberland Manor Nursing Home in Nashville.
She was a classically trained concert pianist and a music teacher.
She is survived by three daughters, Jeanne Campbelle Kennedy, Margaret Campbelle Holman and Helen C. McCormick; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren

Rosetta Wallace, 70, of Lexa, died Sunday, July 15, 2001 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Little Rock.
She was the widow of Matthew Wallace.
She is survived by three sons, Matthew, Arthur and Robert Wallace; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

George Felton Jr.
George R. Felton Jr., 74, of Zachary, La., died Sunday, July 22, 2001.
A native of Marianna, he was the director of the Baton Rouge Zoo for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Ann Felton; three daughters, Gina Ann Freitag of New York, Diane Hannaford of Alva, Okla. and Donna Lamke of Canton, Ohio; three sons, Frank David Felton of Kemmerer, Wy., and Kurt Michael Felton and Terry Lane Felton, both of Baton Rouge; one sister, Helen Felton of Bakersfield, Calif; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 25 at Baker Funeral Home in Baker, La. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Baker.
