Roger D. Bennett
Roger D. Bennett, age 86, of Hope, Arkansas died Friday, March 7, 2008 at Christus St. Michael Helath System in Texarkana, Texas. He was born June 3, 1921 in Ithaca, New York to Howard Webster and Mary A. Dorn Bennett. He was a graduate of Cornell University with a B.S. in Agriculture. He was a retired poultry farmer, a member of First United Methodist Church of Hope, and a former active member of the Home Extension Service in New York.
His survivors include: his wife of 37 years, Louise Williams Bennett of Hope; two sons, Russel Crane "Russ" Bennett of Lewisville, AR and Dale Webster Bennett of Englewood, CO; one sister, Doris Marie Hill of Anaheim, CA; two grandsons, Paul Bennett & wife Pam of Patmos, AR and Jon Bennett & wife Patty of Lewisville; two great grandsons, Caleb Bennett of Lewisville and Joshua Bennett of Patmos.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 10, 2008 at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope with Dr. Tandy Hanson officating.
Alice Marie Sparrow
Alice Marie Sparrow, age 86, of Stamps, Arkansas died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at the Homestead Manor Nursing Home in Stamps. She was born February 1, 1922 in Columbia County, Arkansas. Mrs. Sparrow was a Methodist, retired from Stamps Public Schools in 1979 after working in the cafeteria for 19 years and also worked as an aide at Homestead Manor Nursing Home for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wade Hampton Finley and Sarah Ethel Lindsey Finley and by a sister, Frances Lucille O'Brien.
She is survived by: a son & daughter-in-law, Donald "Mokey" Sparrow & wife Linda of Stamps; three daughters & two sons-in-law, Deanna Goulding of Stamps, Deborah Singletary & husband Joe of Lewisville, AR and Donna Buchanan & husband Jesse of Texarkana; eight grandchildren, Kaylie Kennedy of Gretna, LA, Monica Farrell of Metarie, LA, McRae Sparrow of Stamps, Lindsay Nutt of Lewisville, Joe M. Singletary, IV of Lewisville, A. Casey Singletary of Nashville, TN, and Emily & Jesse Roy Buchanan of Texarkana; nine great grandchildren, Kurtis and Kristopher Kennedy, Justin and Logan Farrell, Katherine Sparrow, Luke Nutt, and Kaylin, Jewel, & Lauryn Singletary; several cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Rev. Charles Walthall officiating and burial in Shiloh Lamartine Cemetery at Waldo under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
Callie Marie Clements
Mrs. Marie Clements, age 79, of Taylor, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at her home. She was born January 1, 1929 in Antlers, Oklahoma to Burl and Allie Taylor Hollingsworth. Mrs. Clements was a retired bookkeeper, member of the Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars and member of the Taylor Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by: her husband, Derrell Clements; one son, Kenneth Randal Foulke of Brookshire, TX; one brother, Jack Hollingsworth of Adair, OK; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at the Taylor Chapel with Bro. Jerry Pulliam officiating and burial in the Taylor Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
Velma E. Plumley
Mrs. Velma E. Plumley, age 89, of Stamps, Arkansas died March 3, 2008 at the LinRock Health & Rehab Center in Texarkana, Arkansas. She was born October 21, 1918 in Nevada County, Arkansas to Albert and Donie Zoe Clark Blankenship. Mrs. Plumley was a homemaker and retired farmer. She was a Church of Christ member. Mrs. Plumley was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, James E. Plumley; and a brother Bob Blankenship.
She is survived by: one brother, Kenneth Clark of Leander, TX; two sisters, Charlene Beck of Arlington, TX and Pauline Jinn of Mexico; special friend, Debbie Barton; numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
Graveside services were held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at the Falcon Cemetery with Bro. Charles Walthall officiating under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
Charlene Rackley
Charlene C. Rackley, 69, of Houston died Thursday, July 31, 2003.
She was born Dec. 16, 1933, in Houston, a daughter of Charlie B. Rankin and Ruby C. Freeman Rankin. She was a member of Stony Point Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, James Carl Rackley of Hector, David Lee Rackley of Appleton, Charles Wayne Rackley of Oppelo, and Ricky Lee Rackley of Houston; two daughters, Louise Clayton of Hector and Dixie Rackley of Houston; two brothers, Earnest Charles Rankin of Clinton and Eddie Melton of Houston; one sister, Jean Caldwell of Lonoke; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, and six great-step grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Bliss Turnage
Bliss Nicole Turnage, infant daughter of Jeff and Katie Butler Turnage of Conway, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003.
Other than her parents include one brother, Nicholas Turnage of the home; maternal grandparents, Vickie and Mike Butler of Conway; paternal grandparents, Evert and Joyce Turnage of Hattieville; maternal great-grandparents, Frankie and Geneva Bowlin of Conway and Kathryn Butler of North Little Rock; paternal great-grandparents, Roy and Pearl Carmack of Springfield, Ore.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Saturday at Roller-McNutt Chapel in Conway with the Rev. David Hatfield officiating. Interment was in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Butler and Evert Turnage Jr.
Sister Frances
Sister Frances Hacker, 91, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, in St. Scholastica Monastery.
She was a nurse and made her religious profession Aug. 26, 1928.
There were no immediate survivors.
Vespers were Friday, 7:15 p.m. at St. Scholastica Monastery Chapel. Funeral Mass was 10:30 a.m. at the chapel Saturday. Burial was at St. Scholastica Cemetery in Fort Smith by Putman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were nephews, nieces, and Benedictine Sisters.

Lisa Reed
Lisa Ann Henderson Reed, 31, of Conway died Friday, Aug. 1, 2003.
She was born Nov. 6, 1971, at Springdale, to Dennis Ray Henderson and Sandra Kay Rogers Magness. She was employed by the Heritage Co. Inc., in Conway and was a member of the Hatley Missionary Baptist Church at Dover.
Survivors include her dad and mom, Dennis and Shirley Henderson of Dover, her mother and stepfather, Sandy and Joe Magness of Springdale; one brother, Jason Eubanks of Perry; two sisters, Gini Harelson of Russellville and Jo Quinn of Perryville; and paternal grandfather, Don Billings of Springdale.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Hatley Missionary Baptist Church at Dover officiated by Bro. Lester Barnes. Burial was in the McFadden Cemetery at Dover under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
Pallbearers were Kevin Lovell, Dave McCollum, Josh Marshall, Josh Furneoux, Blake Ferris, and Pete Harris. Honorary pallbearers were Jason Eubanks, Chris Byrd, Ricky Stewart, Paul Bowlin, Jim Harelson, and Aaron Kettner.
