Rebecca Ann Barton
Rebecca Ann Barton, age 60, of Lewisville, Arkansas died Friday, February 29, 2008 in her home. She was born July 29, 1947 in Magnolia, Arkansas. She was a grade school teacher for 34 years for the Lewisville, Stamps and Lafayette County school districts. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Romie Arlis Barton.
Survivors include: her mother, Flistean Barton of Lewisville; one brother, Michael Barton of Greenville, TX; one niece, LeTisha Barton of Irving, TX; one nephew, Matthew Barton of Greenville, TX; a number of other relatives and friends and the thousands of children whose lives she touched in her decades of service to her community.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 am on Monday, March 3, 2008 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with burial in the Wilson Cemetery in Lewisville under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
Margaret Ann LeMay
Margaret Ann LeMay, age 76, of Stamps, Arkansas died Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Medical Park Hospital in Hope, Arkansas. She was born July 20, 1931 in Stamps. Miss LeMay was a member of the Mars Hill Baptist Church and was preceded in death by: her parents, Carl and Pearl LeMay; a brother, Carl G. LeMay; and a sister, Maurice Watkins.
She is survived by: a brother, William D. LeMay of New Boston, TX; sister, Martha LeMay Vickers of Texarkana, RX; a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Smith Funeral Home in Stamps with Bro. Mike Turner officiating and burial in the Mars Hill Cemetery south of Stamps under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Betty J. (Ham) Mills
Betty J. (Ham) Mills, age 73, of Lewisville, Arkansas died Tuesday, February 26, 2008. She was born June 30, 1934 in Garland, Arkansas. Her parents, Harvey and Ramie Ham and her brother Harvey Ham Jr. preceded her in death. There was nowhere Betty loved being more than at the front door of Doc's Fish House. She looked forward each week to greeting everyone and getting hugs from her extended Doc's family.
She is survived by: her daughter, Vicki Mills & husband Jerry Pack of Texarkana; two sons, Kim "Doc" Mills of Garland and Mark Mills of Fort Smith; one brother, Eddie W. Ham & wife Jean of Texarkana; sister-in-law, Sarah Ham of Lewisville; grandchildren, April Minor of Little Rock, Jerry, Dustin, and Tyler Mills and their mother Penny Cox of Buckner, Joel and Bradley Mills and their mother Connie Mills of Texarkana and Madison Mills and her mother Ginger Mills of Waldo; and great grandson Maverick of Hope.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the Texarkana Funeral Home Arkansas Chapel with Rev. Russell Bailey officiating and burial at East Memorial Gardens.
Willa May Beene Ormand
Willa May Beene Ormand, age 71, of Haynesville, Louisiana died Monday, February 25, 2008 at Health South Hospital in Home, Louisiana. She was born March 26, 1936 in Walkerville, Arkansas. Mrs. Ormand was a homemaker, Baptist and was preceded in death by her husband, Ottice Ormand, Jr., son, Anthony Kevin Ormand, brothers, Charlie Sewell and Edwin Beene, sisters, Hazel Colten and Jeanette Campbell and a grandson, Matthew Williams.
She is survived by: daughters, Audry Sanders & husband Bill of Haynesville, Penny Pelt & husband Mike of Haughton, LA, and special daughter, Kristy Jackson; brother, Glen Beene of Stamps, AR; sisters, Marjorie Lee of Stamps, Nelda Belvin & husband Hugh of Alexandria, LA, Patsy Nix & husband Jewel, Jr. of Springhill, LA, and Jackie Becker of Benton, LA; grandchildren, Danyell Sanders Ruhman & husband Nick of Magnolia, AR, Kevin Sanders & wife Dori of Minden, LA, Stephanie Sanders Moore & husband Tracey of Haynesville, Justin Williams & wife Rhonda of Haynesville, and Jared Williams of Haynesville; great grandchildren, Hana Sanders of Minden and Kymber Williams of Haynesville.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Smith Funeral Home in Stamps, Arkansas with Bro. Jessie Beene officiating and burial in Shiloh Cemetery north of Stamps under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
Christine T. Redmon
Mrs. Christine T. Redmon, age 83, of Lewisville, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Springhill Medical Center in Springhill, Louisiana. She was born February 24, 1924 in Taylor, Arkansas to Dewey and Evelyen Bland Tompkins. Mrs. Redmon was a member of the Canfield Baptist Church. She was a seamstress. Mrs. Redmon was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Emmett Redmon, a daughter Emma Jean Redmon, granddaughter Kimberly Teague, grandson Kennety Teague, and by a son-in-law, Jarrell Teague.
She is survived by: three daughters, Alice Teague of Lake Oswego, OR, Viola Redmon of Texarkana, TX and Jennie Lou Page & husband Leroy of Pine Bluff, AR; six sisters; two grandson, Leroy Page, Jr. and Christopher Page; three great grandchildren, Dakota Page, Sydney Page and Staley Page; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of good friends.
Graveside services were held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at DeMoss Cemetery in Lewisville under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
Evelyn Imogene Young
Evelyn Imogene Young, age 80, of Taylor, Arkansas died Monday, February 11, 2008 at a Ringgold, Louisiana nursing home. She was born December 19, 1927 in Taylor. Mrs. Young was a homemaker, member of Spring Branch Baptist Church at Taylor and she heralded her Christian values. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Britt and Ora Britt, and two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by: a sister, Bobbie Sue Miller of Taylor; son & daughter-in-law, Art & Katrina Young of Ringgold, LA; daughter & son-in-law, Cheryal & Robert Arvin, Jr. of Farmington, AR; grandson Robert Arvin III and granddaughter Wendy Emmanuel.

Sunshine W. Sutton
Mrs. Sunshine Sutton, age 82, of Stamps, Arkansas passed away Thursday, February 7, 2008 at St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. She was born September 12, 1926 in Minden, Louisiana to William and Helen L'Herisson Williams. Mrs. Sutton was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Stamps. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard and by a sister, Alice Allen.
She is survived by: daughter, Delma Lynn Logan of Stamps and friend Larry Nichols; two special friends, Nita Hamilton and Stevie Rader; two beloved dogs; a host of friends and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 3:30 pm on Sunday, February 10, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church in Stamps with Rev. Dana Casey officiating and burial in Lakeside Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
Mable Owens Mackey
Mable Owens Mackey, age 88, of Stamps, Arkansas went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 7, 2008. She was born January 9, 1920 in Stamps. Mable's joys in life were her family, her church, he beloved cat Susie and picking on her Pastor Bro. Todd Pickard. She was most happy sweeping her yard, her neighbors' yard and the street. She was a firm believer in "Cleanliness is next to Godliness". She was a charter and faithful member of the Stamps Landmark Baptist Church in Stamps. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Beulah "Tinnie" and Samuel Floyd Jackson; two infant children, Edna Ruth and James Walter; a brother, William "Son" Jackson; husband and father of her children, Woodrow W. Owens, Sr. and Riley Mackey; step granddaughter, Kimberly Mackey Weaver.
She is survived by: her children, Charles & wife Lynda Lee, Shirley & husband Don Matthews, Woody & wife Diane Owens, Norma Kay & husband Mike Rowe, Eric & wife Cathy mackey and Eddie Mackey; brother, Jackie Jackson & wife Carolyn; grandchildren, Kenneth Lee, Tina George, James Lee, Donna McDowell, Shannon Owens, Stephanie Owens, Jennifer Ford, Scott Rowe and Brent Mackey; sixteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives; special friends, Kay Goodwin, Louise Tony, Jarjorie Morrison, Ray Gene & Stacey Modisette, her Church Family and all her friends.
