She died May 23, 2006, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home. She was united in marriage to Ronald Junior Blanton on May 8, 1965, at Sycamore, Ill. She was employed by Tri-County Shirt Factory for many years and after its closing, she became an independent home health care provider. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

For many years she was an inspector at a garment company in Kansas City, Mo.

He was married June 4, 1960, to Phyllis Ann Weaver Smith. He attended the University of Arkansas where he obtained a bachelor of science degree in Agriculture.

Waymon Frank Fowler, age 61, died June 1, 2006 at Sears, Mich. He was born Sept. 20, 1944 at Ash Flat, the son of Merle and Freda Fowler. Fowler spent his working years employed with GM Truck and Bus in Pontiac, Mich., where he retired from in 1991.

She was born Sept. 2, 1928, at Nelsonville, Ark., the daughter of the late Edgar and Paralee (Lasley) Holland. She moved to Truman in 1950 and retired from Singer Corporation. She was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church in Trumann.

Bonnie Jo Black, 59, of Cherokee Village died May 25, 2006, at Ash Flat Nursing and Rehabilitation after a lengthy fight with cancer. She graduated from Streator Township High School in 1964. She retired after 25 years from Caterpiller Tractor working as a medical transcriptionist for the medical department in Mossville, Ill.

Valentine Casmir Zak, 77, of Cherokee Village died June 3 2006, at Eaglecrest Nursing Home in Ash Flat. Zak was born in Chicago, Ill., the son of Casmir and Sophia Kubik Zak. He worked as an engineer for General Motors for 37 years before retiring and moving to Cherokee Village 13 years ago from Greenville, Wis., and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. He served in the Navy during World War II, was member of the Highland Elks Club and was an avid golfer.

He was born Jan. 3, 1938, in Noland, Ark., the son of the late Woodrow and Viola (Smith) Ballard. He was raised in the Hardy and Highland area. He was a cattle farmer, a member of the Arkansas Cattlemen's Association and was of the Assembly of God faith.

Tommy Christopher "Chris" Pierson, 32, of Franklin died May 30. 2006, at White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was a carpenter, did missionary work in Mexico and was a Christian. Pierson, with Danny and Christy Hopper, shared two sons, Kyler and Dylan of Greenbriar.

Ernest "Colonel" Bruce, 72, of Cave City died May 28, 2006, at his home. He was born Sept. 17, 1933, at Calamine, Ark., the son of the late Clarence Wallace and Mabel Elizabeth (Moore) Bruce. He retired from the Arkansas Highway Department. He was a veteran having served in Germany as an Army paratrooper during World War II and was a natural musician, playing both the piano and fiddle at area nursing homes and was of the Methodist faith.
