Curtis Rose
Curtis Houston Rose, 62, died Friday, September 24, at Baptist Central
Hospital in Memphis.
He was a resident of Marianna and worked as a grain dryer operator. He
was retired from Riceland. He also was a member of the First United
Pentecostal Church in Marianna.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha Mae Rose of Marianna; one son, Mark
Dwayne of Kannapolis, NC; three daughters, Lisa Ann Vowan of Forrest
City, Laura Teresa Jackson of Marianna and Jennifer Lynn Oldham of
Rogers; one brother, Johnny Rose of Newark; two sisters, Virginia Coates
of Shawnee, OK and Evelyn Bearden of Nesbit, MS; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Laura Rose and three
brothers, Pete, J.W., and Homer Rose.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 27, at 10 a.m., at the
First United Pentecostal Church in Marianna with Rev. Terry Teddlie
officiating. Burial followed at Marianna Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Ronald Rose, Donald Rose, W.D. Brown, Roger Anderson,
Frankie Rose and Andrew Coates.
Arrangements were handled by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Marianna.
Lena Sullivan
Lena Sullivan, 86, of Memphis, formally of Palestine, died Tuesday,
September 21, at St. Peter's Villa Nursing Center in Memphis.
She is survived by one sister, Willie Lawson of Detroit; one brother,
Louis Carroll of Lexington, MS; three nieces, Maelean Bratcher and
Jessie Mae Boone, both of Memphis and Novella Brooks of Detroit; and
five nephews, Louis C. Martin, Sr. of Marianna, James Martin, Jr.,
Emmitt Martin and Ocie Martin, all of Memphis and Rev. Jasper Stephens
of Detroit.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 25, at 11 a.m. at Christ
United M.B. Church in Memphis with Rev. Ronny Turner officiating. Burial
followed at New Park Cemetery in Memphis By McNeal Funeral Home of
Brinkley.
Grace McCarty
Grace "Maggie" Dexter McCarty, 96, died Friday, September 24, at Helena
Regional Medical Center.
She was a resident of Marianna and a retired salesperson for 31 years at
Hirsch Dept. Store in Marvell. She was a member of the United Methodist
Church in Marvell, where she was the church secretary for a number of
years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women Missionary Society
and the Women Society of Christian Service.
She is survived by two nieces, Charlene Botto of Nashville and Bettye
Lynn of West Helena; three great nieces, Sharon Harris, Barbara Sanders
and Debra Rheaune, all of West Helena; and one cousin, Robbie Blurkett
of Marianna.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walker Flimore "Tommy"
McCarty.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 27, at 2 p.m., at
Roller-Citizens Chapel in Marianna with Rev. Benny Harmon and Rev. Ed
Warren officiating. Burial followed at LaGrange Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mike Woodward, Shelton Guest, Russell Hall, Richard
Wooten, Bill Heldelberger and Billy Turner.
Honorary pallbearers were Marvell Methodist Men's Sunday School Class,
Gerald Glass, Alan Hirsch, Edmond Hirsh, Jim Wise and James West.
Arrangements were handled by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Marianna.

Delphia Sisk
Funeral services for Delphia Sisk will be held Thursday, September 30,
at Marianna Memorial Park at 11 a.m.

Edward Hart
Edward Arnold Hart, 74, died Saturday, September 18, in his home.
He was a resident of Marianna and a farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Lina Lanelle Hart of Marianna; three sons,
James Ed Hart, Donald Hart and Bobby Hart, all of Marianna; two
daughters, Martha Worley and Patricia Worley, all of Marianna; two
brothers, Wesley Hart of Moro and Douglas Hart of Greenville, S.C.;
three sisters, Viola Hardin of Strong, AR, Betty Phillips of Hot Springs
and Frances Graham of Searcy; two half-brothers, Charles Hart of
Marianna and Jerry Hart of California; one half-sister, Kathy Brannon of
Memphis; and 23 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three children, Billy Joe Hart, Johnny Lee
Hart and Quanita Lanelle Hart.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 21, at 2 p.m., at
Roller-Citizens Chapel with Rev. Ken Walls officiating. Burial followed
at Marianna Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Billy Hart, Johnny Hart, Tobby Hart, Raymond Clionger,
Bo Hart, Steve Worley, Larry Hart and Eddie Hart.

Ed Westbrook, II
Ed Westbrook, II, died Thursday, September 9, at St. Vincent Infirmary
Medical Center in Little Rock.
He was a resident of Rondo and a member of the Sequell M.B. Church,
where he served as an usher.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel; son Ed Westbrook, III, of Rondo;
three sisters, Vicye Hudson of Kankee, Ill, Mary Westbrook of California
and Ceola Burkett of Pine Bluff; and seven brothers, Willie B. Westbrook
of Chicago, Leotis Westbrook of Chicago, A.G. Westbrook and Willie
Westbrook, and Otha Westbrook, all of Marianna, W.T. Westbrook of Rondo
and Willie L. Westbrook of Marianna.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 18, at 11 a.m., at
Sequell M.B. Church in Rondo with Rev. B. Thomas officiating. Burial
followed at Friendship Cemetery in Rondo.
Pallbearers were Otha Westbrook, W.T. Westbrook, A.G. Westbrook, Albert
Crawford, Willie Westbrook, Willie B. Westbrook, Leotis Westbrook and
Raymond Gilmore.

Funeral services for Bro. Aaron Logan will be held Saturday, September
35, at the Pilgrim M.B. Church at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Mr. Zion
Cemetery.

Delphia Sisk
Delphia Farris Sisk, 83, died Tuesday, September 28, at Creskpark
Retirement Inn in Forrest City.
She was a resident of Lee County and a homemaker. She also was a member
of the Church of God of Prophecy.
She is survived by a son, A.C. Sisk , Jr. of Memphis; one daughter, Dee
Millard of Marianna; a sister, Louvre Farris Moore of Marianna; and five
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur C. Sisk, Sr, brother,
Kyle Preston Farris and two sisters, Troyce Farris Reece and Edra Enola
Farris.
Graveside services were held Thursday, September 30, at 11 a.m. at
Marianna Memorial Park with Rev. Gary Anderson and Rev. Gary Sims
officiating.
Pallbearers were Will Millard, Powell Millard, Darrin Malone, Alex
Welford, Danny Felton, Bill McClain, Tom Gist and Buddy Whitehead.

Agnes Jones
Agnes Jones, 67, died Thursday, September 30, in her home.
She was a resident of Wynne and a homemaker. She also was a member of
the Church of God.
She is survived by eight sons, Crawford Jones and Donald Jones, both of
Marianna, Wayne Jones of Vanndale, Roy Jones of Forrest City, Cliff
Jones, also of Marianna, Ricky Jones of Tupelo, Calvin Jones of Marsing,
ID and Gary Jones of Parkin; six daughters, Joyce Parson of Moro, Sherry
Cooper of Lexa, Rayda Jackson and Vernie Gilchrist, both of Wynne, Peggy
Reynolds of Marianna and Wanda Holmes, also of Wynne; three brothers,
five sisters, 56 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 1, at 2 p.m., at
Roller-Citizens Chapel in Marianna with Rev. Ken Walls officiating.
Burial followed at Marianna Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Terry Dale Jones, Keith Brown, Robert Jones, Chris
Martin, Lil Roy Jones, Donald Coffell, Joseph Parson and Danny Parson.
