Wilma Marine Break
Wilma Marine Break, 63, of Hardy, Ark., died Nov. 29, 2008, at her residence. She was born Oct. 23, 1945, in Sikeston, Mo., the daughter of Levi Wells and Edith (Phillips) Wells.
She was united in marriage to Doyle Break on July 22, 1963, in Sikeston, Mo. She was a member of the Banks Baptist Church but had recently been attending the Highland Community Church.
She is survived by: her husband, Doyle Break of Hardy; one daughter, Edith Gates and husband Farrell of Jonesboro; two sons, Sam Break and wife Cari of Lone Tree, Iowa, and Joseph Break of Hardy; five grandchildren, Tosha Holliman and husband Chris of Beebe, Mackenzie, Lagrange, Codie and Nathan Break all of Lone Tree, Iowa; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Pullium and Betty Clark both of Sikeston, Mo., and Carolyn Hayden of Charleston, Mo.; one brother, Farrel Wells of Dudley, Mo.; several nieces; nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Levi and Edith Wells; four sisters, Faye Ellen Wells, Helen Lovins, Teressa Warren and Opal Cecil; and three brothers, Sherman Wells, Vernon Wells and Harold Wells.
Funeral services were held Dec. 3 at the Tri-County Funeral Home in Highland with Bro. Floyd Rikard officiating. Burial followed in the Baker Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Codie Break, Nathan Break, Rodney Warren, Wendy Wells, Chrystal Wells and April Wells.
Honorary pallbearers were: Chris Holliman, Ferrell Gates, Johnny Wells, Jesse Wells, Ben Lovins, Donnie Warren, Stetson Neldon, David Gates and Brian Gates.
Memorials may be made to the family to help with final expenses.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
Michael Gene Ruby
Michael Gene Ruby was born Oct. 24, 1969, in Harrisonville, Mo., the son of Richard L. Ruby Sr. and Barbara Jean Wade Ruby. He died Nov. 30, 2008, in Salem, Ark., at the age of 39.
He was united in marriage March 12, 1999, at Ash Flat Ark., to Sandra Henry. He was an electrical construction worker.
He is survived by: his wife, Sandra Ruby of the home in Hardy, Ark.; three sons, Justin, Johnathon and Jordan Ruby of Hardy; his father, Richard Ruby Sr. of Pleasant Hill, Mo.; his mother, Barbara Jean Murphy of Hardy; seven brothers, Richard Ruby Jr., of Pleasant Hill, Mo., Ashton Hester, Alex Hester, Jody Hester Sr. and Israel Hester all of Hardy, and Elton Hester and Marty Hester, both of Searcy, Ark.; three sisters, Melissa Hamilton of Kansas City, Kan., and Angela Ruby and Jessica Gann, both of Poughkeepsie, Ark.; his maternal grandfather, Alex Wade of Ash Flat, Ark.; his paternal grandmother, Willetta Lowry of Pleasant Hill, Mo.; his mother-in-law, Phyllis Henry of Mammoth Spring, Ark.; a special friend, W.D. Johnson of Hardy, Ark.; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceeded in death by: his maternal grandmother, Thelma Scharrer; his paternal grandfather, Herbert Lowry; his father-in-law, Virgil Henry; and a brother-in-law, Danny Henry.
Funeral services were held Dec. 3 in the Camp Ground Community Building at Ash Flat, Ark., with Pastor Steve Joiner officiating. Burial followed in the Camp Ground Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
Audra Ruthene
Audra Ruthene, died Nov. 19, 2008, at St. Francis Hospital. She was born Feb. 20, 1937, in Thayer, Mo.
After moving to Tulsa from Enid, Okla., she and her husband owned and operated Fidelity Moving Systems, a United Van Lines affiliate in Tulsa for many years, selling out in 1982. She became an administrative assistant to the president of Safety Training Systems, retiring in 2000.
She is survived by: her husband of 43 years, John Alexander, of the home; two children, Erin Lee of Los Angeles, Calif., and grandson, Dylan Christopher; Rod G. Alexander and his wife Jackie of Ponca City, Okla. and two grandchildren, Jayden Gray and Reagan Renee; two sisters, Ralpha Phillips of Broken Arrow and Iris Alford of Thayer, Mo.; and a brother, Martin Beatty of Thayer.
She was preceded in death by: her mother, Audra Beatty of Thayer, Mo., in 1999.
The family requests memorials be made to Akdar Shrine Transportation Fund for Children, 2808 S. Sheridan, Tulsa, OK 74129.
Services were held Nov. 24 at Asbury United Methodist Chapel.
Michael Lee Carnahan
Michael Lee Carnahan, 53, of Walnut Ridge, was born Aug. 1, 1955, and died Dec. 7, 2008, after a long battle with lung cancer. He was employed at Pratt Auto Salvage in Hoxie.
He is survived by: his wife, Sue Crum of the home; children, Jennifer Carnahan, Misty Crum-Aaron and husband Jason Aaron, Michael Crum and his wife Yvette Crum, Mark Crum and his wife April Crum; grandchildren, Emma Aaron, Haley, Christopher, Dillon Carnahan, Kyler and Kalee Crum, Whitley and Corey Crum; sisters, Nancy Jenkins and husband Steve Jenkins; niece, Rachel Jenkins-Primm and husband James Primm; uncle, A.D. Booth and his wife Deanna Booth; aunts Lucielle Tucker, Jamie Holiway and husband Robert Holiway; and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Everett and Mary Carnahan; brothers, Timothy and Virgil Baker Carnahan.
A memorial service will be held at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Chapel at 1 p.m., Dec. 13 with Curtis Shatley officiating.
Bernice Marie Grigutis
Bernice Marie Grigutis, 82, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died Nov. 24, 2008, at a Morrilton nursing home. She was born Feb. 7, 1926, at Waukegan, Ill., the daughter of Jaco and Antonette Zilolnik Dolinar.
She was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include: three grandchildren, Kathe Hahn of Cleveland, Ark., Mike Wojcik of Batesville and Tom Wojcik of Saint George, Va.; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Raymond Grigutis; one daughter, Patricia Wojcik; and one brother, Ludwig Dolinar.
A private burial was held at Yeager Cemetery at Needmore with arrangements under the direction of the Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Dan Joseph Holloway
Dan Joseph Holloway, 61, of Judsonia, Ark., died Nov. 27, 2008.
He attended River of Life Church in Judsonia, was a retired police officer, and a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He is survived by: his wife of 40 years, Deborah; one son, Scott Holloway and wife Stephanie; two daughters, Rachel Moore and husband Earl and Maegan Combs and husband Brent; one brother, Rick Holloway and wife Vicki; and 12 grandchildren including Karanda Willey; along with a host of other family and friends.
Memorial services were held Nov. 30 at River of Life Church in Searcy, Ark.
Frank Fuller
Frank Fuller, 85, of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., was born Nov. 12, 1923, in Rockford, Ill. He died Nov. 26, 2008, at the Crown Point Health and Rehab Center in Horseshoe Bend, Ark.
Frank worked in construction.
No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem.
