Lula Maurean Bilbrey
Lula Maurean Bilbrey, 95, of Poughkeepsie, Ark., died Dec. 18, 2008, at the Fulton County Hospital. She was born June 7, 1913, at Powells Chapel, Ark., the daughter of Jasper and Rosa Maud (Kent) Runsick.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Poughkeepsie Church of Christ.
Survivors include: a son, Bill Bilbrey of Poughkeepsie; three daughters, Lula Bounds of Festus, Mo., Tena Cotton of Cave City and Peggy Simpson of Williford; two sisters, Bonnie Flowers and Maudene Bailey both of Wichita, Kan.; six grandchildren, Sherry Auten of Houston, Texas, Charles Cotton, Jamie Pounds and Patrick Simpson all of Cave City, Ben Simpson of Little Rock and Erik Simpson of Poughkeepsie; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Noble Lewis; three brothers, Otis Runsick, Jim T. Runsick, J.D. Runsick; one sister, Lela Tuggle; and a niece, Mona Bailey.
Funeral services were held Dec. 21 at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Darrell Douglas officiating. Burial followed in the Lebanon Cemetery located at Nelsonville with arrangements under the direction of the Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Charles Cotton, Dean Parsley, Tommy Morgan, L.D. Bilbrey, Gary Bilbrey and Tommy Norris.
Honorary pallbearers were Neil Runsick, Jack Dawson and Keith Dawson.
Donald Crawford
Donald Leroy Crawford, 71, of Salem, Ark., son of the late Roy Horace and Euna (Kem) Crawford, was born Aug. 6, 1937, in Springfield, Mo. He died Dec. 15, 2008, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark.
Don was united in marriage to Imogene Stroud on April 27, 1957, at Thayer, Mo. He spent his working years as a ground lineman for the North Arkansas Electric Cooperative. He was a member of the Gee and Haw Wagon Club and the West Plains Wagon Club. He served as a board member for the Fulton County Farm Bureau, Fulton County Fair Association and the Ozark Mountain Music Makers. Don served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the Salem First Baptist Church and the Christian Men and Boys Retreat.
He is survived by: his wife, Imogene Crawford of Salem; son, Kenny Crawford and wife Lora of Camp; two daughters, Kathy Grissom and husband James of Greenbrier, Ark., and Konnie Coleman and husband Tim of Mountain Home, Ark.; one sister, Jean Simer and husband Alan of Thayer; seven grandchildren, Amanda Browning, T. J. Grissom, Amber Clinkingbeard, Brad Coleman, LeAnn Grissom, Jennifer Crawford and Andrew Crawford; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his daughter, Karen Clinkingbeard; his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services were held Dec.19 at the Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Interment followed in Burk's Chapel Cemetery at Camp, Ark., under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem.
Pallbearers were T. J. Grissom, Brad Coleman, Andrew Crawford, Aaron Browning, Kevin Pendergrass, Jim Mills, Danny Simer and Ken Kirkland.
Honorary pallbearers were the Gee and Haw Wagon Club.
Memorials preferred to Burk's Chapel Cemetery, Salem First Baptist Church or the Christian Men and Boys Retreat.
George Thadneal York
George Thadneal York, 80, of Sturkie, Ark., son of the late George York and Belle Taylor York was born Oct. 14, 1928, in Izard County, Ark. He died Dec. 17, 2008, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark.
He was united in marriage to Lele Faye Zeigler on Dec. 8, 1951, in Morriston, Ark. To this union four children were born. He served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was a self-employed carpenter and for many years he and his wife owned and operated the Sturkie Store. He was a member of the Sturkie Church of Christ.
Survivors include his children, Kimmie George York of Sturkie, Stanley Ray York of Sturkie, Teddy Cal York and wife Darla of Salem, and Joseph Lee York and wife Dawnisa of Sturkie; grandchildren, Kimberly Tyler, Trapper York, Casey York, Layton York, Carson York, Shelby York, Tia York, Jimmy York McSpadden and Amber Javorsky; six great grandchildren; sisters, Vernitha Dover of Salem and Loma Mae Williams of Franklin; a brother, Euion York of Morriston; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his wife; a sister, Deletta Kersey; and his father and mother.
Funeral services were Dec. 20 at the Cox-Blevins Chapel with burial following in the Morriston Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
Memorials may be made to the Morriston Cemetery.
Donald Hutchinson
Donald Earl Hutchinson, 46, of Salem, Ark., son of Beatrice Hammon, was born on July 20, 1962, in Christopher, Ill. He died Dec. 12, 2008, at the Hospice House of the Ozarks in Mountain Home, Ark.
He spent his working years as a truck driver.
He is survived by: fiance, Etta Jean Hurdle of Salem; five sons, James Hutchinson, Larry Willingham, Gregory Hurdle Jr., Jerry Lee Anderson Jr. and Sean Esposito; one daughter, Brandi Hutchinson; mother, Beatrice Hammon; two brothers, Ronnie Hammon and James Hutchinson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his grandparents; father-in-law, Duran Willingham; and mother-in-law, Dorothy Willingham.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Barker Funeral Home in Salem.
Willodene Brewer
Willodene Brewer, 92, formerly of Marmaduke and Hardy, died Dec. 13, 2008, in Germantown, Tenn.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
She was the daughter of the late Armedis Nicholas and Rena Dickerson Nicholas.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, E.F. Brewer; and brothers, J.W. and Willis Nicholas.
She is survived by: her sons, Gale Brewer of Moscow, Tenn., and Ron Brewer of Red Wing, Minn.; sister, Freeda Lacastro of Paragould; brother, Denver Nicholas of Florida; grandsons, James Brewer of Cottage Grove, Minn., and Erick Brewer of St. Paul, Minn.; one great-grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
Services were held Dec. 16 at Heath Colonial Chapel with Rev. Kim Bridges officiating. Interment followed at Harvey's Chapel Cemetery.
Pat Bassham
Pat Bassham, daughter of the late Frank and Hetty (Tragilles), Bassham was born Dec. 24, 1932, in Flint, Mich. She died Dec. 20, 2008, at her home, at the age of 75.
Pat was united in marriage to Tilmon Hamilton "Duck" Bassham on Dec. 27, 1958, at Flint, and to this union, five children were born. She spent her working years as an assembly line worker for the General Motors Corporation.
She is survived by: her husband, Duck Bassham of Salem, Ark.; two sons, Steven Bassham of Hanford, Calif., and Robert Bassham of Chesening, Mich.; three daughters, Rebecca Smith of Fresno, Calif., Kathlyn Bassham of Owosso, Mich., and Diana Brown of Owosso, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; and brother, Thomas Peek.
Funeral services were held Dec. 22 at the Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, Ark., with John Sutton, Kathy Bassham and Rachel Stephens officiating. Interment followed in the Stateline Cemetery at Moko, Ark., under the direction of Barker Funeral Home.

Tamara McComas
Tamara Ann "Tammy" McComas, 51, of Saddle, Ark., died Dec. 14, 2008, at the Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Mo. She was born Nov. 4, 1957, in Leachville, Ark., the daughter of John L. Goodwin and Lena Vea (Taylor) Goodwin.
She was united in marriage to Mark D. McComas on June 24, 1974, in Hardy, Ark. She moved with her family to Batesville in 1989. She worked for the First United Methodist Church in Batesville for several years before moving to Saddle in 1998. She attended the Shekinah Tabernacle at Wirth, Ark., where she taught the little children's Sunday school class.
She is survived by: her husband, Mark D. McComas of the home; one son and his wife, Randy and Michal McComas of Highland; two daughters, Katrina and Joseph Friel of Saddle and Melissa Scoggins of Commerce, Ga.; her mother, Lena Vea Goodwin of Ash Flat; two sisters, Jonny and David Charles of Green Bay, Wis., and Dana Moser of Melbourne; three brothers, Marty and Teresa Goodwin of Ash Flat, Brook and Jill Goodwin of Bristol, Wis., and Tracy and Nittie Goodwin of Russellville; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Margaret and Robert E. McComas of Ash Flat; four grandchildren, Noah Anthony McComas, Hunter Jeremiah Friel, Kiersten Myra Friel, and Emma Brooke Scoggins; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, John L. Goodwin.
Funeral services were held Dec. 18 at Tri-County Funeral Home in Highland, Ark., with burial following in the Eagle's Rest Cemetery near Wirth, Ark. Arrangements were by Tri-County Funeral Home of Hardy.
Pallbearers were Joseph Friel, David King, Marty Goodwin, Brook Goodwin, Tracy Goodwin and Marty Howington.
Honorary pallbearers were Noah McComas, Hunter Friel, Kiersten Friel, Emma Scoggins and Billy Martin.
