Mr. Laurence Kleveland
Mr. Laurence Kleveland, age 80, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at his residence.
Mr. Kleveland was a construction supervisor for the Texas State Highway Department. He Served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Guadalupe Kleveland; Two Daughters: Margaret Willoughby of Dallas, Texas, Nora Burroughs of Plano, Texas; One Sister: LaRiene Sjo of Cleveland, Ohio; One Brother: Bernum Kleveland of Cleveland, Ohio: Five grandchildren and Two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in Nebraska at a later date.
Lois W. Brader
Mrs. Lois W. Brader, age 84, of Cherokee Village., died Saturday, at Eaglecrest Nursing & Rehab in Ash Flat, Ark. .
She was in the Navy during WWII as a Wave and served in Washington D.C.
Survived by her sister Carol and Leonard Judickas her nieces, Julie Decker, Jill Elliot and Jennie Kirchwehm.

Arthur S. Hunt
Arthur Shearer Hunt, age 62, of Mammoth Springs, AR, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at his residence .
There will be no local arrangements.
Bernard Robinson
Bernard L. Robinson died August 11, 2008, at the age of 85, at Fulton County Hospital.
He was the son of Byron & Catherine Robinson of Vincennes, IN, and Estelle & Ben Lee of Chicago, IL.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy and saw action during WWII. After his military service he worked for the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller in Aurora, IL. When he retired from the FAA he became the owner/operator of a McDonald’s restaurant in Paramount, CA for ten years. He was a member of the Cherokee Village Men’s Golf Association and a member of the Highland Elks #2539.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard B. and William J. Robinson.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Natalie; three sons, Barry L. of Tracy, CA., Terry L of Colorado Springs CO. and Timothy J. of Shreveport, LA; one grand Daughter Kristen Marie Robinson; a sister Helen Lee Bates and her Husband Wes, many nieces, nephews, other relations and friends.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.

Bernice Tipton
Mrs. Bernice Tipton, age 82, of Hardy, Ark., died Thursday, April 17, 2008, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark. Mrs. Tipton was a Homemaker.
She is survived by: one Son Teddy Tipton and his wife Janetta of Hardy; two grandsons, Jeff Tipton and wife Cheryl of Nixa Missouri, and Teddy E. Tipton of Hardy; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles and a grandson David Tipton.
The family will receive friends at Heath Oak Hill Chapel on Monday, April 21, 2008 from 11 AM - 1PM.

Betty Jo Floyd
BETTY JO PICKENS FLOYD devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and teacher passed away at her home in Cherokee Village, Wednesday, April 16, 2008 with family by her side. She was born June 5, 1933, in Birmingham, AL, to Henry Wilson and Dosia Marie Pickens. She spent her early childhood in Tupelo, Mississippi and moved to Carlisle, Arkansas in 1945, where her dad owned the Lyle Theater and Betty was the official popcorn popper until she graduated from high school. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Education from Arkansas Tech University, where she also met her husband to be, Don Floyd, and a Master's in Education from Arkansas State University. Betty taught business classes in Charleston, Stuttgart, Jonesboro, and North Little Rock before retiring in 1985. Feared by her students, they often said although she was one of the toughest teachers they ever had, she was one of the best and many considered her a friend in their adult life.
An avid football fan, Betty was the best sideline coach a head coach could ever have. She made many friends by following her football coach husband, from Charleston, to Stuttgart, and Arkansas State University.
Betty was a loyal servant of God and a dedicated member of the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church where she was active in the Priscilla Circle, previously served as chair of the Finance Committee and the annual bazaar and was the active treasurer of the church at the time of her death.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Don Floyd of Cherokee Village, daughter, Donna Floyd and granddaughter Ally Gimon, daughter, Marty Floyd and her husband Bill Goff and granddaughter, Lindsey Moore all of Little Rock. She will be missed by her family and the many friends.
Playing bridge was a passion, she loved to dance and host parties and her motto for a party was always the more the merrier! The doors of Betty's home were always open and not a person entered that didn't feel welcome. To honor her "open door", loving heart, friendship and life, the family will receive visitors, at the home, 28 North Lakeshore Drive, Friday, April 18, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
A memorial service will be held at the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church, Saturday, April 19, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 420, Cherokee Village, AR 72525.
Beverley M. Brooks
Mrs. Beverley Marie Brooks, age 82, of Horseshoe Bend, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Hospice House in Mountain Home.
A memorial service will be held in Morris, IL at a later date.
Billy Earl Brewington
Billy Earl Brewington, 74, of Paragould, died Monday at his home. He was born August 26, 1933 in Tyronza the son of the late Harley and Inez Hindman Brewington. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Ann Beith. He retired as plant manager of Memphis Easel and Wire and was of Baptist belief. He is survived by his wife, Nellie Brewington of the home; sons: William Brewington of Jonesboro, Michael Brewington of Columbus, Indiana, Bobby Carmikle of Trumann, Arkansas, Jerry Carmikle of Columbia, South Carolina, Scott Brewington of Southaven, Mississippi, Tim Brewington of Paragould; daughter, Deanna Currie of Columbia, Tennessee; eighteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
His life will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Thursday at Heath Colonial Chapel with Reverend Paul Currie officiating. Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
Clara S. Luhr
Mrs. Clara Stone Luhr, age 89, of Cherokee Village, died Monday, at her home. Clara was retired from the White Sewing Machine Company where she worked in sales. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Cherokee Village.
Carla is survived by: two Grandsons Carl and Kevin Luhr of Stafford, Virginia and one nephew
A funeral service will be held in Heath Oak Hill Chapel at 11:00 AM Wednesday, with Rev. Kay Burton officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Wednesday. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Highland.
