Cyril J. Bertram
Cyril (Bert) J. Bertram, 74 of Cherokee Village, AR; formerly of Fond Du Lac, WI. Died August 19, 2008 at Arkansas University Hospital. He was born October 31, 1933, the son of the late Alex and Loretta Bertram.
Cyril was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member and chaplain of the Elk’s Club, a member of the New Evening Shade Free and Accepted Masons, a Cherokee Village volunteer firefighter; he was secretary/ treasurer of Highland Lion’s Club, treasurer of Indian Hills Bowling Association, Treasurer and volunteer lake patrolman of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 4-1-9 WR. Cyril was also a member of the Shriners and VFW.
He is survived by his wife Lynda Bertram of Cherokee Village and was the loving father of two daughters: Jama (Dave) Flagstad, Jennifer (Gary) Meis, and one son Jim (Juanita) Ancil. He was the wonderful grandpa of 9 grandchildren: Nick Thern, Nathan Halfman, Nicole Seth, Brandon and Brett Ancil, Nicole Meis, Julie Dilling, Brenda Schaefer, and Becky Flagstad, He was also blessed with 11 great grandchildren. He is survived by 3 sisters: Lucille Bertram, Pat Stenz and Mary Ann Flood, Along with numerous nieces and nephews. All of the Fond Du Lac, WI Area.
A private immediate service was held August 21, 2008 with cremation following. Arrangements are being held by Heath Funeral Home of Highland. A memorial service will be held at a later date for all of Bert’s Cherokee Village friends
David M. Harris
Mr. David Michael Harris, age 47, of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at his residence in Horseshoe Bend.
He was the son of Paul and Ella Jean (Michels) Harris.
He is survived by his parents and one son Alexander Harris of Cherokee Village.
No services are scheduled at this time.
Dee Tyree
Guyneth Dolores "Dee" Tyree, age 78, of Cherokee Village, died Sunday, February 3, 2008, in Salem, Ark.
Dee held a Masters Degree in nursing and was a nurse for the Decatur School District. After moving to Arkansas Dee opened a flower shop in Cherokee Village, and also worked for White River Home Health. She worked with the historical society of Cherokee Village, was community oriented and enjoyed reading.
She was the daughter of the late Guy Purdue and the late Fleta (Shively) Purdue.
She is survived by Two Daughters: Rebecca Thurman of Cherokee Village and Lois J Burt of Canton, GA; and One Son, Mark Doss of Boon, IA .
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 10:30, at the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church, with Mark Doss and Jimmy Anderson officiating.
Donald G. Duvall
Mr. Donald G. Duvall, age 77, of Williford, died Saturday in Ash Flat. He Served in the Army during Korean War. He is survived by his Daughters Jean Eklund of Mount Prospect, Ill. Brenda Parrish of Cary, Ill. Sue Compton of Algonquin,Ill Cindy Brasie of Crystal Lake, Ill. Twelve grandchildren Ten great-grandchildren
Arrangements by Heath Funeral Home, Oak Hill Chapel, Highland, Ark., the family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Tuesday, Funeral service will be at Heath Oak Hill Chapel at 2:00 PM Tuesday, Bro. Floyd Rikard officiating. Interment will be at Baker Cemetery in Ozark Acres with military honors.
Donald Heimberger
Donald Heimberger, 58, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died June 24 at Hospice House in Mountain Home, Ark.
He was employed by American Food Service and served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army.
He is survived by one brother, Norman Heimberger of Cherokee Village.
A memorial service will be held at the family home on a later date.
Dorothy Lorene (Beavers) Greenlee
Dorothy Lorene (Beavers) Greenlee, age 98, of Ash Flat, AR, died Monday, February 4, 2008, in Mountain Home, AR. She was a retired Salesclerk.
She was the daughter of the late Jay Beavers and the late Carrie (Street) Beavers.
She is survived by her Three Daughters: Betty McCarty of Republic, MO, Nina deMontmollin of Hot Springs ,Mary Benham of Cherokee Village; and one Son Robert Greenlee of Hannibal, MO. She is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Friday, February 8, 2008. Funeral service will be at Heath Oak Hill Chapel at 2:00 PM Friday, Dr. Larry White officiating. Interment will be at Baker Cemetery in Ozark Acres, Ark.

Joe Mitchell
Mr. Joe Alvin Mitchell, age 81, of Cherokee Village, died Monday, June 7, 2010, at Hospice House in Mountain Home. Joe Mitchell was born on September 6, 1928 in Marianna, AR and grew up in Lula, MS. He graduated from Lula High School in 1947 and joined the Air Force in 1948, he attended the US Air Force Academy located in Langley, VA. While in the Air Force he served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. Joe retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service; he also retired from the Arkla Chemical Company.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Wilma Faye Mitchell of Cherokee Village; a son and 22 year Air Force Veteran, Robert Mitchell of San Antonio, TX; two step Daughters, Cheryl Byrns and Theresa Schauf both of Wichita, KS; one sister Bobbie Barbee of Lula, MS and several grand children and great-grand children.
Funeral Services will be held at the New Song Baptist Church in Williford at 10:00AM on Thursday, June 10, 2010 with Bro. Blake Shaw officiating. Graveside service with military honors will be held in the Barbee Cemetery in Lula, MS at 2:00PM on Friday, June 11, 2010 with Bro. Byron Roberts Officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Heath Funeral Home of Highland where the family will receive friends from 6PM to 8PM on Wednesday June 9, 2010.

Amy Montgomery
Amy JoAnn Montgomery, age 67 years, 5 months and 21 days, of Cherokee Village, died Sunday July 4, 2010 in Salem Arkansas
Amy was born January 14, 1943 in Ravenna, Nebraska. Her parents were Ben and Margaret (Whitcomb) Croston.
Amy retired to spend more time with her husband Rex Montgomery, of 48 years, Amy worked for Cherokee Elementary as a cook and custodian.
Survived by her Husaband Rex Montgomery of the home, Daughters, Dawn Montgomery of Kearney, NB, Robyn Ratliff of Hardy, AR, Jane Ivey of Glencoe, AR and Jean Bowman of Albion, NB, Sister Joy McAdams of Joplin, MO, Ten Grandchildren and One Great Grandchild.
The Family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Thursday July 8, 2010 at Heath Funeral Home of Highland. A graveside service will be hell Monday July 12, 2010 at 10:30am at Ravenna Cemetery, in Ravenna, NB
