Robert Long
Mr. Robert Edward Long, Jr., age 81, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died Tuesday, at his residence. Robert was a retired Music Teacher; Before he entered the Army , Robert had already had professional experience as a member of an orchestra. He also played clarinet in the Army Band 1946-1949.
He was the son of the late Robert Long and the late Florence (Ganger) Long.
He is survived by his wife Susan (Carr) Long of the home; Daughter Diana Crayne of Ypsilanti, Mich. Son Mark Long of Camp, Ark, Four grandchildren and Three great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be at Wiles Cemetery at 11:00 AM Saturday, Bro. Steve Summers officiating.
Randy Love
Randall Love, age 55, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died Monday, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Ark.
He is survived by his Beloved wife Diane (Anderson) Love; his loving parents James and Clara Love, A proud father of Daughter Kala Conway and Son Michael Love, Sister Therese and husband Matt Powell, Brothers, James and wife Sandy Love and Joseph and wife Monica Zauner.
Randy accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time. Memorial service will be at Berea Lutheran Church 4873 N 107th St. in Milwaukee, WI at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 2, 2010, Rev. Larry Houser officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the Arkansas Boys Ranch. A memorial service will be held locally at a later date.
Marjorie M. Luedders
Marjorie May Luedders of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, departed to be with the Lord on August 18, 2010 in the Ash Flat, AR Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility at age 78.
Marge was born September 27, 1931 at Oketo, KS, the daughter of George and Fannie (Saathoff) Luppen. She was baptized into Christ Jesus on October 18, 1931 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wymore, NE, and confirmed her Christian faith on March 25, 1945 at State Line Lutheran Church, Wymore, NE.
Marge married Arthur Luedders on December 25, 1950 at State Line Lutheran Church, Wymore, Nebraska. Art taught school in Omaha, Nebraska; Wisner, Nebraska; Alma, Kansas; and Hamel, Illinois, and Marge was his faithful wife and helper throughout. While in Hamel, Marge began working at the International Center of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod in St. Louis, MO, where she rose to become the chief administrative assistant for the Board for Mission Services until retiring in 1997, when she and Art moved to Cherokee Village, Arkansas. Marge was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church of Cherokee Village, serving on many boards, committees, and activities, and was especially known for her long tenure as Financial Secretary.
She is survived by 3 children: Jim Luedders and wife Lori of Barnhart, Missouri; Kathy Robertson of Westminster, Colorado; Karen Pummill and husband Brian of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; 8 grandchildren: Kyle, Josh, Katie, Brittany, Josiah, Anna, Matthew, and Andrew; 1 sister and 2 brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 55 years.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Saturday in Peace Lutheran Church of Cherokee Village.
James M. Maguire
James Michael Maguire, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, formerly of Auburn, Main, died September 2, 2009, at St. Bernard’s Hospice Care Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
He was born November 6, 1941 to Francis and Adelaide (Baril) Maguire in Lewiston, Main.
He is survived by his wife Nancy (Rizzo) of Cherokee Village, Arkansas and by his daughter Remy Maguire and her husband Andrew Morphis of Portland, Oragon. He is also survived by three sisters, Joanne Reardon and Husband Joe of Augusta, Main, Margaret Maguire and Rachael Maguire of Auburn, Main and many nieces and nephews and cousins throughout the state of Main. Surviving also are his father-in-law, Dan Rizzo, & aunt by marriage, Virginia Skowlund, both of Cherokee Village, Arkansas.
He served in the Air Force as an air traffic controller from 1960 to 1964. He held private and commercial pilots licenses and flew for Down East Airlines and Executive Air Lines in the state of Maine. In 1971 he joined the FAA as an air traffic controller at the Boston Air Traffic Control Center in Nashua, New Hampshire. He received a Bachelors Degree from River Collage in 1974. In 1983 he opened, Photo Finish, the first one hour photo lab in the state of Maine.
Jim enjoyed playing golf and especially working out daily at the Omaha Center where he had many friends.
Jim and his wife retired in 2004 and moved to Arkansas to enjoy golf and sunshine.
No services are planned at this time.
Rose Marie Manning
Rose Marie (Burton) Manning, age 61, Died Sunday at he residence in Ozark Acres, Rose was retired from Home Health.
She was the daughter of the late Daniel Burton.
She is survived by her husband Eddie Manning of the home, One son Wesley Manning of Ozark Acres, Three Daughters, Bethanie Wright of Ozark Acres, Rachel Lynn West of Newport, AR and Rebekah Burton of Independence, MS. Her mother Billie (Alexander) Burton of Ozark Acres, Sister Nelda Burton of Ozark Acres, Brother Tim Burton of Kuwait City, Kuwait and Eleven grandchildren
A memorial service will be at First Baptist Church of Hardy at 2:00 PM Thursday, with Bro. Larry Kindrick Officiating December 3, 2009.
Thomas E. Marable
Thomas E. Marable, age 89, of Hardy, died Wednesday, September 1, 2010 in Ash Flat. Thomas was born October 14, 1920 in Grants, NM to the late Robert and Sible (Haynes) Marable. He served in the Army during World War II. After the war he worked as a plumber and heavy equipment operator
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lorraine, a son Harry and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by a daughter, Harriet Marable of Hardy; sons, Thomas E Marable, Jr. of Hardy and Dennis Marable of Las Vegas, NV; a sister Robbie Adams of Carlsbad, NM; a brother Billy Marable of Battiest, OK; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service and inurnment will be held in New Mexico.
Henry McComas
Henry O'Neal McComas, age 73 years, and 15 days, of Hardy, died Wednesday, at Eaglecrest Nursing & Rehab in Ash Flat. Henry was born in Clay County Arkansas. Henry was a retired Truck Driver and Oil Field worker. He Served in the Army.
He was the son of the late Robert McComas and the late Madge (Prevo) McComas.
He is survived by his Daughters Trisha McComas and Patricia McComas Kiser, Sons, Kevin, Jason, and Jackie McComas, Sisters, Linda McCarty, and Glenda Smith, Brothers, Robert and Orville McComas. Henry had several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a special friend Juanita Cameron.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Derrick McComas, and three brothers, Raymond and R.L. McComas and Ray Freeman.
John Hawkins
Mr. John Hawkins, age 84, of Mountain Home, died Saturday, at Shady Grove Health Care in Thayer, MO.
He was the son of the late Benjamin Hawkins and the late Myrtle (Clark) Hawkins.
He is survived by his wife Lorene Hawkins of the home; Daughter-in-law-Dianna Hawkins of Caulfield, MO; Son Gary Hawkins of Edwardsville, IL; Brothers, Eugene Hawkins of Thayer, MO and Mack Hawkins of Hartford City, IN; Four grandchildren and One great-grandchild.
John was preceded in death by a son Stephen Hawkins and his parents.
Funeral services will be at Heath Oak Hill Chapel at 10:00 AM Wednesday with Bro. John Shadowens and Bro. Keith Sharp officiating. Interment will follow in Baker Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
