Mr. John Hilmes Jr.
John Fredrick Hilmes Jr. age 66, died Friday July 10th in Batesville. He was born July 14, 1942 in Hermann, MO and lived in Ash Flat for the last 22 years. He was the son of John and Dora (Kemple) Hilmes.
He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. John was very active in the church where he served as Usher and Eucharistic Minister. He delivered groceries for the church, enjoyed bowling and helping people. His favorite Bible verse was Mark 11:23-25 and his favorite song was "How Great Thou Art."
John is survived by his loving wife Dollie (Mason) Hilmes of the home; Daughter Mary Lou Hughes of Flat Rock, NC; Sons Kurt and Johnny Hilmes of Arden, NC; Stepdaughters Trina Carter of Pleasant Plains, AR, Sherry Smotherman of Holden, MO and Becky Clark of Newport, AR; Stepsons Mark Atkins of Searcy, AR and Dean Atkins of Ash Flat, AR; Sisters Angela Richmond of Viola, AR and Dianna Briner of Granite City, IL; a Brother William (Bill) Hilmes of Atlanta, GA; 20 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church Friday at 11:00AM Friday with Father Tom Marks officiating. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery at 2:00PM. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM - 8:00PM Thursday at the funeral home, Rosary will start at 7:30PM.
Elizabeth Huff
Elizabeth Elain (Laurie) Huff, age 63, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died Wednesday, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark. Beth was retired from Highland Middle School in the Computer Lab and a charter member of the Community Christian Church in Hardy as a Elder and Chairperson of the Board.
She was the daughter of the late John Laurie and the late Mary (Chapman) Laurie.
She is also survived by her husband Robert (Bob) Huff of the home, Three Sisters, Donna Poneleit of Ohio, Marie and Joe Grieser of Washington, Ill. And Roberta and Rick Mangold of Creve Coeur, Ill., Two Brothers, John Laurie of Pineville, Ill. And Fred and Cece Laurie of Marquette Heights, Ill. and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Friday, Funeral service will be at Heath Oak Hill Chapel at 10:00 AM, Pastor Rick Brothers officiating. Interment will be at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Highland, Ark. Under the direction of Heath Funeral Home of Highland. Memorials may be made to the Food for Kids Program at Highland Middle School or the American Cancer Society.
Mary Jackson
Mary Joann Jackson, age 66, of Salem, Ark., died Wednesday, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Ark.
She is survived by her husband Billy Jackson; Sons, Bobby Jackson of Salem, Ark.
And Terry Jackson of Hardy, Ark. Grandchildren Anthony, Heather, Hanna, Haley, Brittney Jackson, Shayla Hamm and Shannon Hendick, and 1 great Grandchildren Kaleb Jackson.
The family will have a private visitation Friday. Arrangements are being handled by Heath Funeral Home; Highland, Ark. Memorials may be made to the family or funeral home to help with expenses.
Bernice Grace Kidd
Bernice Grace Kidd, born January 31, 1930, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010 in Searcy, AR at the age of 80 years.
Bernice was a homemaker and a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Cherokee Village.
She is survived by Derwin "Dale" Kidd, her husband of 63 years; a Daughter, Rebecca Ann Vander Vorth of Highland; Sons, Dale D. Kidd and William F. Kidd of Texas and Dennis J. Kidd of Cave City, AR. She is also survived by four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Cherokee Village at 11:00AM on Saturday, April 17, 2009 with Bro. Larry White officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Highland. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM - 8:00PM Friday at the Funeral Home.
Imogene Dillinger
Imogene Mae (Gann) Dillinger, 81 years 6 months 6 days, of Poughkeepsie died July 16, 2009 at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem. She was born January 10, 1928 at Sitka, AR the daughter of the late Hick and Dora (Morgan) Gann. She enjoyed gospel music and going to church. She enjoyed visiting with her children, grandchildren, family, and friends in the community. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Church.
Survivors include; two sons, Eugene Anston of Poughkeepsie and Clayton Dillinger of Batesville; Two daughters, Barbara Wess of Willford, and Sharon Smith of Smithville; four brothers, Harvey Gann of Poughkeepsie, David Gann of Poughkeepsie, Fred Gann of Agnos, and Donald Gann of Cabot; four sisters, Ruby Wilkerson of Walnut Ridge, Faye Anderson of Marmaduke, Joyce Chapin of Poughkeepsie, and Wanda Rogers of Walnut, Mississippi, 15 Grandchildren, 22 Great-grandchildren, and 2 Great Great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Bill Dillinger; three daughters, Eula Break, Carolyn Dillinger, Rose Collins; infant Grandson, and infant great granddaughter; three brothers, Everett Gann, Laney Gann and Buddy Gann.
Visitation will be held at the Pleasant Ridge Church on Saturday starting 6:00PM until service time. Services will be at the Church at 2:00PM Sunday with interment in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Brother Jim Pagan officiating.
Pallbearers; Bobby Collins, Jonathan Break, Jeremy Wess, Anthony Anston, Brandon Dillinger, and Luke Smith. Honorary Pallbearers are Derek Ward, Deuton Newby and Matthew Break.
Bessie Dotson
Bessie Lois Dotson, 92 of Poughkeepsie, Arkansas died on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at her home from a sudden stroke. Born Wednesday, January 14, 1920 in Mammoth Springs, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Frank Perry and the late Dona King Perry.
She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Community Church, and a home maker.
Survived by her sons, Steve Dotson and his wife Doris of Poughkeepsie, AR and Dr. Laurence Dotson and his wife Gail of Anaheim Hills, CA, daughters, Teresa Dotson Pickett and her husband Jackie of Poughkeepsie, AR and Kathryn Dotson Richmond and her husband Larry of Cherokee Village, AR, brother, Clayton Perry of Ventura, CA, sister, Snoda Corbett of Walnut Ridge, AR. 16 Grandchildren, Nancy, Cheryl, Michelle, Tonya, Tiffany, Samantha, Brenda, Nancy D, Karen, Michael, Tim, Matt, Steven, Robbie, Thomas and Jim. 13 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandson. also many nieces, nephews and many friends and relatives. Preceded in death by her parents, Husband Glen Dotson Sr. sons Glen Jr. and Samuel Dotson, Daughter Patricia Groves. sisters Hazel Robins and Flossie Williams, Brother Clifford Perry, Grand Daughter Stephanie Burton and a Infant Great Grandson.

Jesse Eubanks
Jesse Fred Eubanks of Ash Flat, Formerly of Springdale, died August 23, 2009 at Fulton County Hospital in Salem at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 24 days. He was born November 29, 1922 at Hartwell, Arkansas, the son of William McKinley and Pearl Morehouse Eubanks. He was united in marriage to Zelma Curtis on January 1, 1948. To this union two children were born, Jimmy and Judy Eubanks.
Jesse was a WWI veteran of the Army serving 2-23-43 through 11-1-45 receiving five Bronze Battle Stars including one each for Battle of the Bulge and the Normandy Invasion. He was a member of American Legion Post 346 of Cherokee Village for 20 years serving on the firing squad, Sergeant of Arms, and Chaplin. He attended Pioneer Freewill Baptist Church at Ash Flat devoting endless time and labor. He was a member of the Cherokee Village Horseshoe Pitchers earning multiple trophies for the sport he loved and enjoyed. He also participated in softball and bowling prior to declining health.
Jesse retired from highway/road construction at McClinton Anchor in Fayetteville 37 years before relocating to Ash Flat
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, son PFC Jimmy Ray Eubanks USMC, one sister Velma Eubanks Gathrie, Cashmere, WA, Two brothers, Ray Eubanks, Lansing MI, and Paul Eubanks, Springdale, AR.
Survivors include his wife Zelma Curtis Eubanks to whom he was married for 611/2 years. Daughter Judy Eubanks Staler of Ash Flat, AR, Three granddaughters, Tiffany Staler Orr of Fayetteville, Michelle Staler Vance of Jonesboro, and Amanda Staler of Charleston, WV, two great grandchildren Chandler and Carrgon Vance of Jonesboro. He also leaves to mourn his sister-in-law Teresa Eubanks of Springdale, and many other family, friends, and love ones.
Services will be held 10:00am Wednesday August 26 at Pioneer Freewill Baptist Church in Ash Flat with Bro. Larry Latham of Russellville officiating. Committal and burial will be 5:00pm August 26 at Bluff Cemetery in Springdale, AR. Visitation is 5:00- 8:00pm Tuesday August 25 at the church.
