Diane Wilson
Mrs. Diane Louise Wilson, age 71, of Cherokee Village, died Friday, November 13, 2009, at her residence. She was born in Chicago, IL to the late Emery and Charlotte (Jacobson) Brechel.
Diane was a homemaker and of the Lutheran faith.
She is survived by her husband Robert Wilson of the home, three aunts, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents and one brother John Brechel.
Diane will be remembered for her constant smile that brought a ray of sunshine to all who knew her. She loved gardening and her dogs, cats and birds.
Diane was always concerned for the plight of animals, adopting many and supporting the Spring River Humane Shelter.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Ash Flat Home Health.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, November, 23 at the Cherokee Village Lutheran Church.
Robert Maurice Wilson

If a smile could speak a thousand words Bob Wilson could speak volumes. Known by many and loved by everyone. A loving Brother to Geraldine Melton, William Wilson ( Patricia), Patricia Brechel, Gerald Swederski ( Carol), Susan Garfield, Ron Swederski (Liena), Len Swederski ( Patty), and Sharon Caulfield ( Jim). Loving Uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Diane of fifty-three years. The world has lost a most loving. kind and generous man. He passed away April 16th after a sudden illness and the loss of his wife this November. Bob's journey started in Chicago where he attended Chicago schools and met his wife. He then joined the United States Army and was stationed in New Orleans. He talked fondly of those early days with Diane. He returned back to Chicago and started a venture with his brother Bill in opening and operating Clark gas stations. He purchased a home in the suburbs in Fox River Valley Gardens. Wonderful memories were made he made many many friends and loved ones in these years living close by siblings. A career change followed with him joining Local 10 Chicago District of Carpenters Union, again this change was made with his loving brother Bill. He began working the trade shows of Chicago and later became Union Steward which he maintained into his retirement. It was in his marriage that Bob became a loving pet owner to many dogs cats and birds. He was a constant contributor to Save A Pet in Palatine, Illinois. His passion was his wife Diane and family, yard work, home remodeling, his pets, and living by the water. In retirement he moved to Cherokee Village, Arkansas to live close by his brother Bill. Ron and Pat came next and the siblings were together again. Family ties were very important to Bob. He was famous for saying family first in all areas of his life. In more recent years he took loving care of his wife after a lengthy illness which he did with complete love and devotion. He will be sadly missed by all and remembered for his laughter and love.
A Memorial Service for Bob will be held at the Cherokee Village Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 2:00PM with Pastor Joan Ewaldsen officiating. Inurnment will be in the Cherokee Village Lutheran Church Columbarium.
Maureen Wolosuk
Maureen Wolosuk of Cherokee Village, age 78, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010 at her home. Maureen's wishes were to donate her body for the advancement in medical science.
She is survived by her husband George Wolosuk of the home.
Memorial service will be at Village Bible Church at 1:30 PM Sunday, March 28, 2010.
Michael R. Wright
Michael Radford Wright, of Cherokee Village, passed away October 24, 2009 at the age 66 years, 9 months and 7 days, at the Veteran’s Hospital in Little Rock. Michael was born in Richmond, Indiana on January 17, 1943. His parents were Lester and Catherine (Wicks) Wright. Michael retired as a Casino Floor Supervisor in Las Vegas, and moved to Cherokee Village four years ago. He served in the Navy and a member of the Elks.
He is also survived by his wife Joy Wright; of the home, Daughters Cristina Rowen of Kentucky and Laura Graham of Lafayette, Ind. Sister Lesta Lane, Brother David Wicks and Four grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be at Heath Funeral Home, Oak Hill Chapel at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 28, 2009.
Eddie Ray Smith
Eddie Ray Smith, age 70, of Cherokee Village, died Friday, November 6, 2009 at his residence. He retired from Entergy of Arkansas with 45 years of service.
Eddie is survived by his wife Mrs. Glenda Smith of the home; Daughters, Kristy Lynn Fisher of Heber Springs, Sara Dienst of Highland and Salli Sullins of Gibson City, IL; Sons, Billy Ray Smith of St. Joseph, MO, Larry Smith of Conway, Craig Augenstein of Johnson City, TN and Fr. Joseph of Wayne, WV; Sister, Sharon Hedden of Springfield, MO; Brothers, Charles "Bub" Smith and George Smith of Mammoth Springs; Six grandchildren; and Three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Highland. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 9, 2009 with Dr. Larry White officiating.
James H. Smith
James Hubert (Jim) Smith of Hardy was born on November 29, 1915, the son of George A. and Effie (James) Smith. On December 26, 2009, at the age of 94, he went to be with his Lord and join loved ones who had gone on before, including his beloved wife of 70 years, Theresa (Frailey) Smith.
Jim had a great love for his God, family, and fellow man. Everywhere life took him, he made friends. A great joy in his life was being a longtime member of New Hope Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years.
Before retiring as a real estate broker, he had various jobs including operating a saw mill, farming, and carpentry. He enjoyed raising and training registered dogs and had a passion for hunting.
He is survived by: two sons, Wayne (Norma) Smith, and Hubert (Caroline) Smith, both of Cedar Hill, TX; three daughters, Nadine (Jon) Bussard of Mountain Home, Judy (Stan) Whitson of Fairhope, AL, and Jeanie (Billy) Wilson of Caulfield, MO; 18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Geneva Newsom and Laverne (Bill) Davenport both of Hardy. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Theresa; his parents, George and Effie Smith; two brothers, Leslie Howard Smith and George Walter Smith; a sister, Marie Luker; and a son-in-law, Duane Brandon.
Funeral services will be held at New Hope Baptist Church, Highway 175, on Monday, December 28 with Bro. Troy Harvey officiating. Music for the service will be provided by Rita Beeman and Pat Utley. Burial will be in McCollough Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Brandon, Jeremy Wilson, Adam Morgan, Dale Davenport, Mark Smith, and Russell Bassham.

Rose Smith
Rose Smith, age 86, of Cherokee Village, died Monday, March 8, 2010 at Eaglecrest Nursing & Rehab Center in Ash Flat. Rose was a retired registered nurse and a member of First Baptist Church of Cherokee Village.
She loved the sport of Aerobic swimming and Golf. Rose won a championship in Cherokee Village and also played in tournaments in Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
She is survived by her husband Robert Smith of the home, brothers, John Simmons of Erie, PA and Jim Simmons of Peoria, IL and two very special friends Jon and Sue Jett of Cherokee Village.
A Memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM, Sunday, March 14 at Cherokee Village First Baptist Church with Dr. Larry White officiating. Memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Missions.
