Ricky Dale Weeks
August 29, 1956 - April 12, 2012

Ricky Dale Weeks, 55, of Austin, passed away, Thursday, April 12, 2012. He was born in Jacksonville on August 29, 1956 to the late David Joseph and Lucy Mayfield Weeks. Big Ricky was a generous loving husband, father and grandfather, who was always happy and smiling, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a lifelong concrete finisher, an avid hunter, loved riding his four wheeler and was always tinkering and building something. Brother Ricky was a member of New Hope Tabernacle in Cabot. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brother, William and Lanny Weeks.

Big Ricky is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Brenda Weeks of Austin, one son, Ricky Weeks, II, and his wife, Joy and their children, Tyler and Alyssa, all of Austin; one sister, Lucille Weeks; six brothers, Bill Weeks and his wife Kathy, Jerry Weeks and his wife, Kathy, Bobby Weeks, Carl Weeks and his wife, Madilyn, Larry Weeks and his wife, Phyllis and Mike Weeks and his wife, Nita all of Ward; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012 in the chapel of Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 16, 2012 at the funeral home with Bro. Tim Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Apple Hill Cemetery, Austin. Arrangements by Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home (501)843-5816.

Ernie Dale Winkles
February 20, 1940 - April 12, 2012

E. Dale Winkles, 72, of Cabot, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012. He was born February 20, 1940 in Abilene, Texas to Charles Monroe and Maggie Mae Archer Winkles. A Protestant, Dale accepted Christ on March 18, 2012. He was retired from AGL Corporation in Jacksonville, having worked there 30 years as a machinist and shop supervisor. In addition to his parents, Mr. Winkles was preceded in death by his brother, David Winkles and sister, Mona Rae Fleming.

Survivors are his wife, Thelma Winkles of Cabot, his two sons, Ronald Emmert and his wife, Lou Ann of Little Rock and Russell Emmert and his wife, Andrea of Keller, Texas; his granddaughters, Amanda and her husband, Brandon Monroe and Stephanie Emmert; his brothers, Carlton Winkles and his wife, Loudel and Dub Winkles and his wife, Fran; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home, with Bro. John Riggs officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Gerald Albert Pennock
May 17, 1939 - April 11, 2012

Gerald Albert Pennock, 72, of Cabot died Wednesday, April 11, 2012. He was born May 17, 1939 in Lonoke County to Julian G and Ila Swaim Pennock. A member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Mr. Pennock worked at the Jacksonville Chemical Plant for 15 years, then Remington Arms for 25 years as an explosives handler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gilbert Pennock, sister, Barbara Pennock and sister-in-law, Charlotte Pennock.

Survivors are his brother, Robert Edward Pennock, Sr. of Cabot, nephew, Robert E. Pennock, Jr. and his wife, Wendy of Butlerville, niece, Laura Rasmussen and her husband, Chris of Lonoke; and great niece and nephew, Julia and Ethan Rasmussen.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, April 13, 2012 at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home, with burial following in Pat Howell Cemetery.

James Dylan Allwhite
07/29/1993 - 04/10/2012

James Dylan Allwhite, 18, of Ward died Tuesday, April 10, 2012. He was born July 29, 1993 in Jacksonville to James David and Sheran Ryan Allwhite. Dylan was a 2011 graduate of Cabot High School and had worked at Central States Bus Sales as a salesman. Dylan enjoyed his friends and being outdoors. He was a Christian and the best big brother three girls could have. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Barbara Allwhite and his paternal great-grandmother, Catherine Shockley.

Dylan is survived by his parents, James David Allwhite (Shana) and Sheran Ryan Allwhite (Richea Grant), all of Ward; three sisters, Tyler Allwhite of Ward, Brooke Allwhite of Lonoke and Nikki Allwhite of Lonoke and his high school sweetheart, Katie Rodriguez of Cabot. He is also survived by his paternal grandfather, J. D. Allwhite of Vilonia, his maternal grandparents, Roy and Patrice Ryan of Texarkana, Texas and Donald and Debra Kirk of Mountain View as well as aunts and uncles, Ann Martin (Chris), Claudette Gilchrist (David, Jr.), Jeffrey Smith, Lance Ryan (Shari), Kristy Tabor (Mark) and Matt Nicholas (Samantha).

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Changepoint Assembly of God Church with burial to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery under the direction of Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home and Crematory (501)843-5816. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Blake Brokeshoulder, Cody Everett, David Gilchrist, III, Hunter Gould, Matt Hand, Andru Owens, Lance Ryan and Jeff Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Kody, Steven and Wesley Kirk, Sean Winkle, Austin Samples, Sean Palmer, Jacob Porter, Zach Falletta, Josh Hankins, Steven Simpson, Wade Palmer and Zach Pratt. The family would like to encourage Dylan’s friends to wear white t-shirts and jeans in honor of Dylan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Dylan’s name at First Security Bank.

Lillian Viola Besancon
January 2, 1918 - April 22, 2012

Lillian Viola Besancon, 94, of Cabot died Sunday, April 22, 2012. She was born January 2, 1918 in Cabot, Arkansas to the late Henry and Viola Sailor Spires. Mrs. Besancon was a resident of Cabot Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Lillian began working at the Jacksonville Ordinance Plant in 1943, making ammunition during World War II. She later retired from Franklin Electric after 37 years of service. After retirement, she was actively involved with the Senior Citizen Center. Family and friends will always remember her wonderful fried chicken and homemade pies. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Besancon was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Howard Besancon; sister, Mary McMillan and her husband, Paul; brother, William Henry Spires; and granddaughter Deborah Elaine Besancon.

She is survived by her two sons, Harold Besancon and his wife, Kathy and Wayne Besancon and his wife, Dianne; four grandchildren, Virginia Besancon, Shelly and her husband, Jason Morden, Heather and her husband, Shane Morden, and Lane Blaylock; six great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2012 in the chapel of Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home, with services immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
